2. Important Notice
Important Safety Precautions
•Do not use the device while driving. Please see that in some countries, it is
illegal to use such devices while driving.
•Switch off when refueling. Do not use the device at a refueling oint (service
station) or near fuels or chemicals.
•Switch off in aircraft. Mobile hones and GSM devices can cause interference.
Using them on aircraft is both illegal and dangerous.
Follow Special Regulations
•Special Regulation. Follow any s ecial regulations in force in any area and
always switch off your device whenever it is forbidden to use it, or when it
may cause interference to the surrounding.
•Radio Interference. All mobile hones cause radio interference within the
s ecified Limits of GSM standards.
•Qualified service. Only qualified service ersonnel must re air the
equi ment. Use only a roved accessories and batteries.
•Emergency calls. Ensure that the hone is switched on and in service. Enter
the emergency number (112 or another official emergency number) and ress
the "Dial" key.
•Use only approved accessories. The use of any other ower accessory will
violate warranty conditions that a ly to the hone.

3. Getting Started
3.1. Packing Contents
Before using Micromax X1i+ mobile hone, carefully remove the contents from the
shi ing carton and check for any damages or missing contents. If you find any,
contact your Authorized Distributor or shi ing agent immediately. The standard
acking contents are as follows:

3.2. Installing SIM, Battery and Attaching other Accessories
SIM Card & Battery Installation (Figure 2)
Always turn off the hone and detach the charger when you insert or remove a SIM
card or battery from the hone.
1. Remove the battery cover by ulling it as shown in Figure 2.
2. Slide the SIM Card into its holder. Make sure that the gold contacts of the SIM
Card are facing down, and the cut off corner is correctly aligned as shown in
the figure.
3. Place the battery in the back of the hone with the label side u and the
connectors facing each other.
4. Place the battery cover as shown in the icture and slide it into lace.

Memory Card Installation (Ref Figure 2)
The Memory Card gives you extra storage ca acity for content such as ictures,
music and video cli s. To install:

1. Remove the battery cover by sliding and remove the battery as shown.
2. Slide o en the memory card cover as shown and lace the card inside the
slot.
NOTE: Do not remove the memory card while reading or writing to the card. Doing
so may cause data corru tion on the card or on the hone.
Connecting Hands-free Kit (Ref Figure 3)
You are rovided with hands-free ear iece set with your hone. The same can be
used to listen to your m 3 songs and listen and s eak while you’re on a call. To
connect the hands-free ear iece, sim ly connect the connector into the connecting
socket as shown in the figure. When ro erly connected, the hone will dis lay a
message ‘Ear hone Plugged In!’ with an icon ( ) dis layed on to of the screen (as
shown in figure).
NOTE: Only use Micromax s ecified accessories.

1. Plug the charger’s transformer into a standard AC outlet.
2. Insert the charger’s out ut lug into the hone’s connecting socket as shown
in figure.
NOTE: It may take u -to 30 minutes before the battery icon/charging icon
a ears on the screen when charging.

Powering ON and OFF the Phone
To Power your hone ON or OFF, ress and hold the End (RED) key for at least 3
seconds or until the dis lay lights goes u or goes off. Enter the lock code if
necessary and select OK to Power ON.

In standby mode, ress number keys to in ut dialing number. In standby mode,

mode, exce t in ut number, ress 0 key to in ut s ace. In functional menu, ress
numbers to s eed select submenu items.
* & # Key
Functions vary in different situations or function menus: On In ut Screen, ress "*"
for symbols. On In ut Screen, ress "#" to switch between different in utting
methods. In standby and dial mode, ress and hold "*" to in ut +. In standby mode,
in ut "+" for an international call.
3.4. Important Phone Icons
Signal Strength Icon
The Signal Strength Icon is seen on the to leftmost corner of the screen. The icon
hel s you to identify the strength of the network; the hone has latched on to, at
that articular instance. It has a maximum of 4 bars (as shown in figure) with a
minimum as no bar. 4 bars signify strongest network strength and subsequently
minimizes with each diminishing bar. No bar signifies least or no network strength.
Battery Meter Icon
The Battery Meter Icon is seen on the to rightmost corner of the screen as shown in
figure). The icon signifies the battery strength available at that instance. The icon
will signify the maximum battery strength by 3 bars and no bar will signify least
battery strength.
NOTE: At very low battery levels, the hone will rom t ‘Low Battery’ message on
the screen.

Keypad Lock Icon
The Key ad Lock Icon is seen on to of the screen at various ositions (as shown in
figure) de ending on the number of icons dis layed. An O en Lock signifies that the
hone’s key ad is unlocked and a closed lock signifies that the key ad is locked. You
can unlock the key ad by ressing Unlock (by right soft key) on the hone, followed
by the Send (GREEN) key. Similarly for locking the key ad, ress the End (RED) key,
to be followed by the Send key.
3.5. Basic Functions
Make a Call
To make a call, unlock the key ad, if locked, enter the desired hone number and
ress the Send (GREEN) key.
NOTE: Your service rovider rograms one or more emergency hone numbers, such
as 112, 100, that you can call under any circumstances, even when your hone is
locked or the SIM card is not inserted. Check with your service rovider, as
emergency numbers vary by country. Your hone may not work in all locations, and
sometimes an emergency call cannot be laced due to network, environmental or
interference issues.
Making a Call Using Call Logs
All dialed and incoming numbers are saved in call logs and categorized into Missed
Calls, Received Calls and Dialed Calls. To check the logs, lease follow these ste s:
In standby mode, ress the Send (GREEN) key to view Call Logs. Use the scroll keys
to scroll between Missed Calls, Received Calls and Dialed Calls.
Answering a Call
•To receive an incoming call, ress the O tion key and select ‘Answer’ or
receive it directly by ressing the Send (GREEN) key.
•If headset is available, user can choose headset keys to answer the call or
turn on auto answer.
Call Option
The Micromax X1i+ hone offers multi le functions during a call. During a call,
following functions can be actualized if you o erate according to the instructions on
the screen. Press u and down direction keys to choose the wanted function and
ress select key to enter.
•Hold a Call: To hold an Active call.
•Swa between Held/Waiting and Active: Swa among the calls. This o tion is
network de endent.
•End: End the resent active call only.
•New call: To make a new call.
•Phone Book: To ex lore the Phonebook for hone numbers.
•Message: To ex lore the SMS menu (Inbox, outbox, etc)
•Sound Recorder: To record the resent active call for later listening/review.
•Mute: Turn off the Micro hone during an active call.

•DTMF (Dual-tone Multi-frequency): You can choose on/off; which is to send
dual-tone multi-frequency sound. This can offer dialing to the tele hone
numbers with extensions or IVR systems installed for menu driven o tions.
•Conference: By multi-way conferencing, you can answer an incoming call and
add new artici ants according to the rom t. Kee the ongoing multi-way
conference, have a rivate conversation while kee ing all the others on hold,
get through one artici ant with another one, quit yourself from the
conference.

4. Function Menu
4.1. Phone Book
Quick Search:
Quick search allows you to quickly search an entry in the Phonebook by entering the
key letters or words of the name. After finding the desired number the user gets the
following o tions:
•Dial: Selecting the o tion will dial the number found by quick search.
•Send SMS: Selecting this o tion will enable the user to send an SMS on the
number selected.
•Send ID: Send Number allows the user to send the selected entry’s details to
another reci ient as a text message.
•View: View o tion gives you the details of the number selected.
•Edit: Edit o tion gives you the o tion to edit the details of the selected
number. The details include- Name, number, Home number etc.
•Delete: The o tion allows you to delete the selected entry.
•Copy: The o tion allows you to Co y the entry selected to the hone or to
the SIM card de ending on where the entry was stored before.
•Move: The o tion allows you to move the entry from Phone to SIM or from
SIM to hone de ending on where the entry was selected from. The moving
entry will be automatically deleted from the last storage device.
•Send vCard: This o tion is same as ‘send Business Card’. It will enable you
to send a business card of the selected entry as an SMS.
Add New Contact
Select this o tion in order to add a new entry into the SIM memory or to the hone
memory.
Group:
Caller Grou contains five default grou s:
•Friends

Selecting any grou allows you to edit the o tions available with it. For exam le:
oSetting the ring tone associated with the grou .
oPicture associated with the grou .
oAny articular LED attern associated with the grou .
Settings:
The following fields are listed under settings:
Extra Number
•Owner Number
Owner Number lets you in ut your own hone number and name. If set to ON,
the hone’s main screen dis lays the name or your number on the screen.
NOTE: This is a SIM Card de endant service.
•SOS Number
The hone gives you an o tion to store 5 numbers for contacting in case of any
emergency.
•Memory Status: This o tion allows you to select your referred memory
storage between SIM and Phone memory.
•Preferred Storage: Select the fields to be edited at the time of adding a new
entry in the Phone book. The fields include:
•Home Number
•Com any Name
•Email Address
•Office Number
•Fax Number
•Birthday
•Associate Picture
•Associate Sound
•Caller Grou
•My V Card: My V Card gives you an o tion to edit and send your Business
card to the selected reci ients.
4.2. Messages
Your hone su orts various messaging services. You can create, send, receive, edit
and organize text messages.
Messages contain the following folders:
•SMS
•Chat
•Voice Mail Box
•Cell Broadcast

SMS:
Under SMS, the hone has the following folders listed.
•Inbox: This folder stores all the received messages.
•Outbox: This folder contains all the messages sent from your hone as well
as the unsent messages.
•Write Message: On selecting Write Message, the screen will o u to ask
you to in ut the contents of the message using different in ut methods
(Tem lates, Insert Number, Insert Object etc).
•Templates: Tem lates stores 10 reloaded/ re-written text messages for
ready usage. You can edit the tem lates according to your wish and also store
the messages that you send more often.
•Message Settings: Message settings stores all the different settings
res onsible for sending and receiving messages.
•Profile Setting: It contains 4 default rofiles which includes Profile
name, Service Centre Address, Validity Period and Message ty e.
•Common setting: These settings include the following - Delivery
Re ort and Re ly Path
•Memory Status: Memory status gives you the information about the
storage status of the hone memory as well as the SIM memory.
•Preferred Storage: Lets you select the default storage location of the
messages between Phone and SIM.
Chat:
Chat enables you to enter 2 different user’s default settings (Chat Profile 1 and Chat
Profile 2) to enable sending and receiving the messages. Chat o tion enables you to
see the com lete conversation on a single window.
Voice Mail Server:
The Voice Mail is an interactive system for storing, rocessing and re roducing verbal
messages through a voicemail server. The service is o erator de endant and the
settings are rovided by the o erator u on activating the service on the SIM card.
Broadcast Message:
Your hone is ca able to receive and store broadcast messages. You can set the
receive status to ON/OFF. Read Message folder stores the received messages.
Note: Broadcast messages are received through a redefined channel-050.

4.4. Settings
Under settings, the hone gives you the o tion to change the settings for various
features of the hone.
Reception Mode
The Rece tion Mode allows you to select the mode in which you want the hone to
be. The Modes of the Phone are:
•Dual SIM Active
This mode allows you to access the services of both the SIM’S i.e. Dual SIM Dual
Standby.
•Only SIM1 Active
Only the SIM1 is functional whereas the SIM2 is not accessed.
•Only SIM2 Active
This mode is used to enable the situation where you want only the SIM2 to be
functional.
•Flight Mode
This mode is used to set the hone in Flight Mode. In this mode the hone will be out
of signal rece tion but you will be able to use other functions of the hone in standby
mode.
Time and Date
Lets you set the Time and Date on the hone including the Home City.
•Auto Update of Date & Time: This feature automatically u dates the date
and time on the hone, receiving it from the network.
•Set Time and Date: Enables you to set the time and date in the handset.
•Set Format: You can select between 24 hour and 12 hour format.
•Set Home City: You can select the Home City timings according to the GMT.

Display Setup
Under Dis lay characteristics, you can set a host of different characteristics of the
hone. Like
oWallpaper – Set your favorite wall a er on the hone
oScreen Saver – Lets you set an image as a screen saver.
oShow Date and Time – Enables you to see the date and time on the
idle screen.
oShow Owner number – It hel s you set your own number on the
dis lay for your ready reference.
oShow Operator name – You can ut this to ON/OFF state. It lets you
see the O erator name on the idle screen.
oGreeting Text: Lets you set your own greeting message when you
ower ON the hone
Phone Setup
You have following o tions listed under hone settings:
•Language: The Micromax X1i+ currently su orts English & Hindi language.
•Preferred Input Method: This enables you to select the text in ut method
from 5 o tions. They are – Multita ABC, Multita abc, Numeric, Smart ABC,
Smart abc.
•Shortcuts: Shortcuts hel you use certain key features of the hone
instantly. You can choose the features at your own wish and set them in the
menu. You can add new features to the list, delete, edit, disable and change
the order.
•Dedicated Key: This o tion hel s you dedicate/ma certain key features of
the hone with the Directional keys (UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT) of the hone. At
anytime you can change the ma ing and select a new feature from the list of
features available.
Note: This feature is network de endant.
Network Setup
Network setu gives the user the ability to select a desired network and addition of a
new network to the network list. The network setu gives you the following o tions:
•Network Selection (Automatic/Manual)
•Preferred Networks – Will list down all the network IDs (de ending on the SIM
card used)
Security Setup
Under Security Setu , we have the following o tions available:
•SIM Lock: SIM Lock rotects illegal usage of the SIM card. SIM is rotected
by a assword.

•Phone Lock: Phone Lock rotects your hone from any unauthorized usage
or unauthorized access to information stored in the hone. When hone lock
is activated, the hone would ask for the hone lock code every time you
ower-on the hone. Enter the lock code to use the hone. You can sim ly
unlock the hone by going into security settings, Phone Lock, enter the lock
code and ut it off.
•Auto Keypad Lock: Auto Key ad lock automatically locks the key ad after a
reset interval of time. You can set the time from 1 second to 1 minute.
•Fixed Dial: Outgoing calls from your hone can be restricted by making a
fixed dialing list that allows only numbers on that list to be dialed from the
hone.
•Barred Dial: Barred Dialing is a SIM card/Network de endant feature If your
o erator su orts it, then you can use the facility in the hone.
•Change Password: Change Password o tion gives you the o tions to change
PIN, PIN2 and Phone Lock assword.
•Restore Factory Settings: Selecting this o tion will ask you to enter the
assword to restore the hone to factory settings.
Call Settings
Call Setu lists all functionalities related to Calls.
SIM1 Call Settings
•Caller ID: This is a network de endant function, hence, to use this you have
to have rights from the network. You can select between Set by Network,
Hide ID and Send ID.
•Call Waiting: Call Waiting enables notification of incoming calls when the
hone is busy on an active call. To receive notification of call, set it to Active
mode or vice-versa. You can also query the status of Call Waiting by ressing
‘Query Status’.
•Call Divert: Call Divert o tion enables the hone to redirect incoming calls to
another number even when the hone is switched off. Calls divert conditions
are:
oAll Calls: This will divert all calls in all conditions.
oIf Unreachable: The hone will divert calls, if it is unreachable.
oIf no answer: The hone will divert calls, if there is no answer.
oIf Busy: The hone will divert calls, if busy.
oAll Data Calls: The hone will divert all data calls.
oCancel Call Divert: Press this to disable all call diverts.
•Call Barring: The hone su orts barring of incoming and outgoing calls. The
following barring o tions are available.
oOutgoing Calls: This o tion is selected to bar all outgoing calls from
the hone.
oIncoming Calls: This o tion is selected to bar all incoming calls
coming to the hone.
oCancel All: To cancel all call barring settings.

oChange Barring PW: Select this to change the Call barring assword.
oLine Switching: Toggle to switch between Line1 and Line2 to rotect
your hone from being illegally used.
oCall Time Reminder: Call Time reminder reminds you about the time
being s ent on a call. It can do that ‘once’ or ‘ eriodically’.
oCall Time Display: Select this to dis lay the duration of the call on
the main screen.
oAuto Quick End: This o tion enables you to set a s ecific time after
which the call will be terminated automatically.
oAuto Redial: Select this to start redialing after a s ecified interval of
time.
oBlack List: Black List enables you to ignore an incoming call
from either a list of numbers or from all numbers in s ecified
time s lit duration. Following o tions are available:
Mode: To enable and disable Black List Function.
Black List Number: To Define a List of Numbers to be Black Listed. It
can be an individual number in a list of maximum 20 numbers, a grou
from which you don’t want to receive a call and from numbers that are
not in your Phonebook (SIM or Phone).
Time Split Firewall: This enables you to select an o tion between
Time s lit firewall and the numbers defined in the Black List based
firewall.
oIf you chose “All numbers” then you need to define the time
s litting between which you do not want any call.
oIf you select “Number in black list” then only those numbers
are blacklisted and hence are ignored within the time s ecified.
Message: If you enable this then an automated SMS is sent from your hone to the
black listed caller with a redefined SMS stored by you in the message contents.
Speed Dial
Set the desired entries corres onding to the digits from 1 to 9. once set, you can
long ress the corres onding key to call the desired number.
4.5. Applications
Push Box
Select your favorite game to lay. Check your best grades and use the hel guide to
know the rules and regulations of the games.
Game Settings:
These settings enable you to vary the settings in Audio to ON/OFF, allow you to ut
the vibration mode to ON/OFF and to increase/decrease the volume levels.

This is an o erator de endant service.

Audio Player
The Micromax X1i+ comes with an inbuilt audio layer that lays all your favorite
songs stored in the micro SD memory card. It gives you a host of setting o tions to
make your listening ex erience interesting.
The layer gives you an o tion to select from a list of songs already stored in the
memory card, to be layed, added to your ring tones or deleted.
The layer has the following setting o tions:
oPlay List: Player setting gives you an o tion to select your lay list
source (Phone memory or Card memory).
oList Auto Gen: It also offers to generate the lay list automatically.
oRepeat: You can also select to re eat the song or lay the com lete
lay list (Off/One/All).
oShuffle: You can shuffle the order of your songs to be layed. If you
ut this mode to ‘ON', then the songs will be layed in a random
fashion otherwise, a sequential attern will be followed.
oBack Ground Play: Back Ground lay o tion allows you to enjoy your
music even if the layer is minimized to use other functions of the
hone.
oLyrics Display: Lets you dis lay the lyrics of the songs rovided the
corres onding .lrc file is saved in the hone memory.

Sound Recorder
You can record sound/voice on your Micromax X1i+ hone. Just select sound
recorder, go to o tions and ress record. Select Sto to rename the file and save it.
Select ause to ‘ ause’ the recording and ‘continue’ to resume the recording.
FM Radio
The Micromax X1i+ comes with an in-built FM Radio Receiver/Schedule FM
Recorder/Schedule Player. The X1i+ comes with a built-in FM Receiver antenna.
Hence, you don’t need to lug the hands-free to listen to radio anymore. Press
O tions to find:
•Channel List: Store all the channels that the FM Radio can receive. You get
o tions to lay or edit them.
•Manual Input: You can store and register your channel frequency and lay it
by ressing OK.
•Preset Auto Search: On selecting this, the FM tries to scan all the available
channels rovided by the network. To start the search, make sure that the
radio is owered ON.
•Settings: Under settings, you have o tions for Back Ground Play (ON/OFF),
Loud S eaker (ON/OFF), Recording Format (AMR/WAV) and Record Storage
(Phone or Memory card).
•Record: You can record your favorite music or rogram. To record, make
sure that the radio is owered ON.
•File List: Select File List to check your reviously stored files.
•Append: The a end o tion enables you to continue recording to a re
recorded sound file.
The FM Radio also gives you an o tion to change the settings through short-cut keys
available on the main window. Such as ‘To Power ON’, to ‘Ski to next channel’, to
‘ski to revious channel’ etc.
Video Player
The Video Player lays all your video files stored in the Memory Card. The video
layer gives you the following o tions:
•Play – To start laying the video file.
•Rename - To rename an already saved file.
•Delete – To delete an existing file.
•Delete All Files – To delete all files at once.
Sort – To sort the already saved files by Name, Ty e, Time and Size
4.7. User Profiles
All the different rofiles are listed under this o tion:
•General: The Profile gives you an o tion to activate and customize the
settings. You can customize the following features:
oTone Setup: Tone Setu enables you to set u different music tones
to different functionalities of the hone like, Incoming Call, Power ON,
Power OFF, Message Tone and Key ad tone.
