Installing the Pole LCD Customer Display Kit
This document describes how to install the Pole LCD Customer Display
Kit on the Workstation 4 or Keyboard Workstation 4. The kit consists of the
LCD Display Assembly /w cable, pole, base, extension cable, and nut. The
installer must provide mounting hardware. The cable length is
approximately 5 feet.
Installation Procedure
1. Using the base as a template, mount it to the counter surface.
2. Refer to Figure 1. Route the extension cable through the pole and
connect the LCD assembly cable. Place the LCD assembly on the pole,
position the display at the desired position and use a 1mm hex screw to
lock the display in place.

3. Connect the extension cable to the appropriate pole display connector
on the WS4 or KWS4 as as shown in Figure 2.

Software Configuration
On the WS4, the GR1.2 (or later) software platform must be installed to
emulate the 2x20 VFD. To enable the LCD Pole Display, start the
DiagUtility. Select the ‘Cust Disp’ tab. In the ‘LCD Pole Config’ section,
press the [Create Pole Config File] button to enable the LCD Pole Display.
Instructions for upgrading the WS4 to the GR1.2 software platform can be
found in FB04-001. This document and the GR1.2 software can be found
in the hardware support section of www.micros.com.
