Quick Setup Guide and Warranty Information
First use
1. Connect antenna cable to the built in WiFI connector (uFL or MMCX depending on model)
2. Device accept 10..28V either with a pa ive PoE powered ethernet cable
or with a power connector to the Power Jack
Powering
The board accept powering only from the LAN1 Ethernet port:
●LAN1 Ethernet port J4 accept 10..28V DC input (at the board; higher voltage needed to compen ate for power lo
on long cable ; at lea t 18V ugge ted) from non- tandard (pa ive) Power over Ethernet injector (no power over
dataline ). The board does not work with IEEE802.3af compliant 48V power injector .
●Thi device i fitted with a power jack which accept 10..28V DC power.
Booting process
Thi device doe n't come fitted with a Serial Port connector, o initial connection ha to be done via the Ethernet cable, u ing
the MikroTik Winbox utility. Winbox hould be u ed to connect to the default IP addre of 192.168.88.1 with the u ername
admin and no pa word.
In ca e IP connection i not available, Winbox can al o be u ed to connect to the MAC addre of the device. More

In ca e you wi h to boot the device from network, for example to u e MikroTik Netin tall, hold the S301 button of the device
when tarting it until it beep and the LED light turn off and RB711 will look for Netin tall erver .
Extension Slots and Ports
●One Ethernet port, upporting automatic cro / traight cable correction (Auto MDI/X), o you can u e either traight
or cro -over cable for connecting to other network device . The Ethernet port accept 9..28 V DC powering from a
pa ive PoE injector.
●Built-in 802.11a/n WiFi card (AR9280) with one MMCX/uFL (depend on model) connector to the left of it
Buttons and Jumpers
●RouterOS re et jumper hole (RESET, marked with a black circle in the diagram above, below S301) – re et
RouterOS oftware to default . Mu t hort circuit the metallic ide of the hole (with a crewdriver, for example) and
boot the device. Hold crewdriver in place until RouterOS configuration i cleared.
●S301 – Holding thi button during boot time will make RB711 look for Netin tall erver . Relea e the button after
the LED light goe out.
