1 product description
1.1 general description
This manual is done to make yourself familiar with the functions of the unit.
Keep this manual available being able to go back to it at any time.

•reel with up to 30 meters push-pull-cable 5mm
•KK13 or KK18 camera head
•3.500 display and control unit (MPR) for recording incl. SD-card

1.1.2 product features
The minCord
R
is an optical inspection unit to inspect pipes, sewers, containers
and cavities from DN15 to DN200. To document such an inspection, videos
and pictures are saved on SD-card.

•careful use of the unit and be aware of potential risks
The manufacturer is not liable for any damage caused by:
•not considering the manual
•non-intended use
•not trained operators
•unauthorized modulation or technical changes
•usage of spare parts not authorized
Avoid excessive use of the camera and huge differences in temperature.
The push-pull cable may break at excessive use. The push-pull cable is
subjected to become worn out. Depending on the way of use, it may be
replaced sooner or later. If the push-pull cable is broken, do not switch on the
camera and contact the service (s. 3.1.3).
1.2 safety
1.2.1 general safety
Please use the unit only as described in this manual. Any other use is not the
intended use and may cause damage at the unit or its periphery.
•Any modification or change of the unit affects the product safety.
•
Check the unit if there is any visual damage or deviation before putting
into operation.
•
The inspection unit contains an internal battery. This can be charged
by the power supply enclosed. The minCord
R
can be operated without
restriction while charging the battery. Make sure to take care of all
safety precautions in both cases. If the battery operation time clearly
shortens, the battery may have reached the end of its durability.
•
attention, risk of injury: do not arbitrarily open the unit, never do
any unauthorized repair. (s. 3.1.3)

Carefully treat the unit. Hits, strokes and falling from low level may cause
damage. Keep away the operation unit from humidity and excessive heat.
Protect the storage unit from dirt and rain. Keep away the SD-card
from magnetic sources.

•Do not use contaminated camera for fresh water use.
There’s no warranty claim for any damage caused by inappropriate operation.
Liability is not assumed for any secondary damage.

1.2.2 intended use
The display and control units described are intended for use at an optical
inspection unit. Please only use the units as intended.
1.3 operations MPR
To operate the minCord
R
, take it out of the transport case and press the
on-/off-button for about 5 seconds.
The minCord R
is immediately ready to use.

2 functional specification
2.1 components
2.1.1 MPR
The MPR is operated by its buttons.

At the sides of the MPR there are a USB slot, a SD slot, video IN and out
and the connection for power supply (DC IN):

2.1.2 power supply
The minCord
R
comes with an internal battery. To charge the battery, connect
the provided original power supply to the DC-IN socket.
not using a minCord
R
(not plugged in) for a longer time, the backup
battery will become discharged, date settings get lost.
To recharge the MPR, it has to be connected to power supply for about 10
minutes before it can be switched on again. Date settings can manually be
adjusted now. To keep the settings when switching off again, the backup

battery has to be charged again. To do so, the MPR has to be plugged in
and
switched on for at least 72h.
2.1.3 reel
The minCord
R
is available with up to 30m push-pull-cable. To uncoil the
push-Pull-cable, pull the camera. To coil the push-pull-cable again, twist the
reel clockwise using the knob:

Slightly turning the MPR may relieve coiling.
Drag the push-pull-cable through a wet cloth prevents humidity and dirt inside
the reel.
2.1.4 camera
The minCord
R
is available with KK13 or KK18. The cameera is permanently
connected to the push-pull-cable each.

KK13 for inspection from DN15.
Centering device (s. 2.3.1) for up
to DN100 available.
The KK13 is also available with lo-
cating (s. 2.1.7) 512Hz.
KK18 for inspection from DN20.
Centering device (s. 2.3.1) for up
to DN200 available.
2.1.5 focus
Manual focusing is not needed.
2.1.6 light
The intensity of the light is regulated by the rotary button on the MPR (s.
2.1.1).
2.1.7 locating
Using a KK13 containing location, both the camera head and the push-pull-
cable, can be located. To do so, the the receiver (adjusted to 512Hz) has to be
switched to the according mode: pinpointing for the camera head and locating
a pipe for the cable.

The intensity of the locating signal depends on the actual distance between
camera and receiver and is influenced by the material in between.
To activate the locating, the flip
switch has to be switched from
Camera to Locator.
While locating is active, there’s no
image displayed.
2.2 recording
2.2.1 MPR
Recording pictures, videos and audio information is done by the MPR. For
the MPR there are three different modes of operation:
•
live mode: switching on the MPR, the live view from the camera is
displayed. Pictures and videos can be recorded and saved at this mode.

review mode: pressing the UP or DOWN button activates the
review mode. At this mode recorded pictures and videos can be viewed.

menu mode: pressing the menu button switches the MPR to the
menu mode. At this mode various settings (s. 2.2.2) can be chosen.

Press ESC to switch back to the live mode.
2.2.2 settings MPR
Press the MENU button to activate the menu mode. At this mode various
settings can be chosen. The single submenus are chosen by UP and DOWN
. Select the submenu marked with OK :

formatting the SD-card
At the submenu DELETE ALL/SD CARD FORMAT the SD card can be
formatted.
All data on the SD-card will be deleted.

Selection by UP /DOWN ,
for confirmation (YES) push OK
.
When the SD card is successfully
formatted, FORMATTING...OK is
displayed.
To ensure optimal data storage, the SD card has to be regularly formatted
completely.
video output
Connecting a cable for an external display, the MPR automatically switches
from internal to external display. Removing the cable, the signal is switched
back to internal display.
If you want to switch the output while the cable stays connected, AV OUT
has to be pushed.

setting date and time
Date and time are set on delivery. If there’s the need to change the settings,
it can be done at the menu DATE/TIME SETUP.

video format
To change the video format, choose the menu VIDEO FORMAT. You can
switch between PAL and NTSC.

auto power off
AUTO POWER OFF is to choose the duration of inactivity until the MPR
switches off automatically.

Choose the duration by UP
/DOWN and push OK
for confirmation. Selecting DIS-
ABLE, the MPR doesn’t switch off
automatically.
record format
The menu RECORD FORMAT enables you to choose the snapshot size for
recorded pictures.
Standard format for images is
704x528 pixel, for videos 768x576
pixel. Selection by UP /DOWN
, for confirmation push OK .
microphone
To activate or deactivate the microphone, choose the menu MICROPHONE.
At delivery condition the microphone is deactivated.

2.2.3 video
To record and save a video, proceed as follows:

To save a video, make sure a
SD-card is inserted.
Make sure, the SD-card is
unlocked.
Push the power key for 5
seconds to switch on the system.
The start screen displays the free
memory on the SD-card (in the mid-
dle on the top) and (right top) the
battery’s state of charge.
To start video recording push the
REC key . While the unit
is recording, there’s a red video
camera symbol at the right bottom
corner.
To stop recording, push again the
rec key . The red video camera
symbol at the right bottom corner
disappears.

For audio recording during video
recording, the microphone has to
be activated (s. 2.2.2). If the mi-
crophone is activated at the system
settings, audio recording automati-
cally runs at video recording.
2.2.4 picture
To record and save a picture, proceed as follows:
