1. Torpedo level
2. Drill with 5/16” masonry drill bit
3. Stainless steel screws, mounting brackets, chrome plated bracket covers and an Allen
wrench (packet included in each foot rest box)
4. #2 Phillips head screwdriver
5. Pencil
6. Measuring tape
7. Safety glasses
The FR-09 Chrome Plated Wall Mount Foot Rest REQUIRES blocking in the wall. If
the wall you are getting ready to install this foot rest on does not have blocking
behind it DO NOT INSTALL this foot rest.
PLEASE NOTE: There should be a minimum 2 x 6 pressure treated wood blocking in the
wall behind the substrate material in the shower enclosure, prior to the cast marble
panels being installed. The blocking should be securely installed to the structural
framework of the wall, should not have any free movement and the center of the block
should measure 16” above finished floor, The foot rest will be centered 12” from the top
of the curb of the shower pan on the “dry wall” (the wall opposite the shower head).
Installing the chrome plated foot rest:
1. Determine the specified height of the foot rest and center it on the wall opposite the
shower head. It will measure ~12” from the top of the shower pan curb. Also, make sure
you are putting the foot rest on the right wall before starting the install. Failure to do this
could cause unnecessary repair work, which can be time consuming and costly.
2. Once the height of the foot rest and the correct wall is determined, take the foot rest out
of the box and measure the distance between the support arms. This will give you the
drill location for the mounting brackets.
3. The foot rest comes assembled, so you will need to dissemble it to get the mounting
brackets. There is an accessories packet included in the package. Take out the Allen
wrench and remove the screws in each support arm. Please note: it is extremely
important that you do not lose any pieces of the foot rest. There are no spares. Take one
brass mount, Drawing A, place it in the proper place on the wall and make a pencil mark
on the wall where the drill holes are located. Do the same with the second one. Use the
level to make sure the marks for both drill holes are level.
