2.Introduction
TheDS Vision3000 (DS Vision)systemfromMinicomisanout-of-bandsolution
forthelaststepina digitalsignagenetwork. DS Vision combinesvideo,
stereo/audioandserialfunctionsfordistributingreal-timemultimedia contentfrom
playertomultiplescreens up to300m/1,000ftaway.
TheDS VisionsystemdistributesVideo,AudioandSerialcontroldata froma
singlecontentsourcetoup to128 remotemonitorsoverCAT5/5e/6UTP media.
WiththeDS Visionanadministratorcanremotelyturnthedistributedscreenson
and off, and monitorthemeitherseparatelyorasaunifiedgroup. Thesystemalso
supportsDisplayDataChannel(DDC)signaling, enablingoptimalplayer-screen
configurationforbettervisualexperience.
DependingonthecablelengththeDS Visionbroadcaststhevideoup toresolutions
of1080p HDTVor1920x1440 @60Hz.
DS VisioncomeswithfullRS-232 point-to-point, real-timeserialcommunication
(includingTX,RX,CTS,and RTS)fortheextensionofserialdevicesand playerto
screencommandandinformationtransfer. All handshakelinesaresupportedfor
maximumcompatibilitywithany serialdevice.

powersupplywith5VDC, 2.5AfromtheAC/DCadaptersprovided. Ensure
correctpolarity(Center negative)and voltage.
OncethesystemisconnectedtheDS Visionsystembroadcaststoall remote
monitors/speakers. Note! YoucanusetheServiceUtilityprovidedtobroadcast
contenttospecificmonitorsorgroupsofmonitors, seeDS Visionsystem
managementonpage12 below.
8.Adjustingthepicturequality
Whenthebroadcastedpictureneedsadjusting:
FortheReceiverturntheTuningadjuster–seeFigure3, using a smallscrewdriver.
TheReceiverLong/LineSplitterscanbetunedeithervia theServiceUtility, as
explainedon page20, orbyusingtheoptionalTuningUnitasfollows:
1.ConnecttheVAUcable(p/n5CB40607)totheTuningUnitand theReceiver
Long/LineSplitterTuningport. Onceconnected, MinicomDSV-3000 appearsin
theLCD.
2.Press theMenukeytorepeatedlyscrollbetweenthefollowingfunctions:

Open. Thestoredtopologyappears. Note!Themostrecentsavedtopologiesappear
intheFilemenu.
Saving aGroup
Youcansavea Group toincludeparticularports. Oncedefined, youcansend
instructionstothedefinedGroup withoutneedingtochoosetheindividualports.

1.SelecttheportsyouwanttoincludeintheGroup.
