BATTERY
HOW TO REPLACE THE BATTERY IN SHINE 2
Shine 2 is powered by a 3 Volt CR2032 coin cell battery (included). Only replace the battery in the Shine 2 with a CR2032
battery type. It lasts about 4 to 6 months with normal use. We recommend using the same brand (or one with equivalent
quality), which should give you the estimated battery life.
Sync your Shine 2 to the Misfit App. In the app, tap “Devices” to see a list of your devices. Each device listed will display a
battery icon, indicating the estimated remaining battery power.
1. Twist open the shine 2 body using the Battery Door Tool

Place Shine 2 in your palm with the back facing up towards you. Connect the Battery Door Tool to the back, battery door,
of the Shine 2. Press down firmly and rotate the Battery Door Tool to the left. If you do not have a Battery Door Tool,
please refer to the section below “How to Open Shine 2 Without a Battery Door Tool”.
2. Remove the shine 2 battery door
3. Remove the used battery
Remove the used battery and properly dispose of the used battery. [Refer to SAFETY WARNINGS]

4. Place a new CR2032 battery in the Shine 2
The positive (+) side of the battery faces down into the Shine 2 and the negative (-) faces outwards. The negative (-) face
of the battery should be visible when placed into the Shine 2.
5. Place the battery door back onto the Shine 2
Place Shine 2 in your palm and put the battery door onto the back of the Shine 2. Make sure the indent above the Misfit
logo on the battery door aligns with the small silver screw inside the Shine 2.

6. Close the Shine 2 body using the Battery Door Tool
Connect the Battery Door Tool to the back, battery door, of the Shine 2. Press down firmly and rotate the Battery Door
Tool to the right until the battery door will not rotate anymore. The Shine 2 will vibrate when closed. If you do not have a
Battery Door Tool, please refer to the section below “How to Close Shine 2 Without a Battery Door Tool”.
HOW TO OPEN SHINE 2 WITHOUT A BATTERY DOOR TOOL
Place Shine 2 in your palm with the back facing up towards you. Place your other palm over the back of the Shine 2,
making good contact with both sides of the Shine 2. Press Shine 2 firmly in-between your palms and rotate to the left. You
should feel the battery door twist to the left. If the battery door doesn’t automatically pop off, then separate the battery door
from the back of the Shine 2.

HOW TO CLOSE SHINE 2 WITHOUT A BATTERY DOOR TOOL
Place Shine 2 in your palm and put the battery door onto the back of the Shine 2. Make sure the indent above the Misfit
logo on the battery door aligns with the small silver screw inside the Shine 2. Place your other palm over the back of the
Shine 2, making good contact with both sides of the Shine 2. Press Shine 2 firmly in-between your palms and rotate to the
right until the battery door will not rotate anymore. The Shine 2 will vibrate when closed.

LINKING SHINE 2 FOR THE FIRST TIME
USING THE MISIT APP FOR THE FIRST-TIME:
1. Signing up with the App
Download the Misfit App from the App Store or Google Play and install the Misfit App on your device.
Tip: Search for “Misfit” in the App Store.
Open the app and follow the instructions on screen to create an account for new users or log in if you already have one.
You will be asked to input information about yourself so we can provide you with the best experience and most accurate
data. This information is confidential. Refer to our Privacy Policy in ‘Settings’ in the app for more information.
2. Linking your Shine 2 for the first-time
You will be prompted to link Shine 2 for the first-time. In the app, initiate the linking process to allow the device to search
for the Shine 2’s Bluetooth signal. When linking begins, the LED lights on the Shine 2 should light up.
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE MISFIT APP INSTALLED:
1. Open the Misfit App
If you already have installed and used the Misfit App, then simply open the Misfit App.
2. Tap “Devices”.

“Devices” is located at the bottom of the App.
3. Tap the “+” at the top of the Devices screen
4. Linking your Shine 2 for the first-time
You will be prompted to link Shine 2 for the first-time. In the app, initiate the linking process to allow the device to search
for the Shine 2’s Bluetooth signal. When linking begins, the LED lights on the Shine 2 should light up.
