Introduction
This Installation Manual describes the carry-in and installation of the boiler operation terminal EJ-
210(hereinafter called “EJ-210”).
When installing the EJ-210, carefully read and understand the contents of this manual to ensure
that all installation work is performed safely. Warnings in this manual are classified as DANGER,
WARNING, CAUTION, or NOTE, in order of severity.
Indicates an imminently dangerous situation which leads to
serious injury or death to the user, if the product is mishandled.
Indicates a situation which might cause serious injury or death
to the user, if the product is mishandled.
Indicates a situation which might cause minor injury to the user
or the occurrence of physical damage only, if the product is

1. PRECAUTIONS DURING INSTALLATION
Pay attention to the following items during equipment installation and instrumentation work.
(1) When performing grounding work, use IV wire(*) or equivalent from the ground terminal in the
panel. Use a wire diameter equal to or larger than the main power wire (2.0 mm2 or larger).
(2) Do not install an overcurrent protection circuit breaker in the grounding wire.
(3) Connect the power supply wiring from the boiler power supply. Ensure that an earth leakage
circuit breaker (with overcurrent protection) is installed in the boiler power-supply line.
(4) If the power supply wiring is not connected from the boiler power supply, ensure that a dedicated
earth leakage circuit breaker (with overcurrent protection) is installed.
(5) Use a wire with 0.1 MΩ or higher insulation resistance.
(6) Use a wire with 2.0 mm2 or larger diameter.
(7) Do not extend the steam pressure sensor cable.
(8) Ensure that the distance between HUB and the equipment is within 100 m.

4. REQUIRED PARTS
During installation of the EJ-210, different parts are required according to the boiler installed. Be sure
to check the following points before starting installation.
(1) Boiler with BL-model or XJ1-model controller mounted
For a boiler that has a BL-model or XJ1-model controller, communication occurs between the EJ-
210 and the boiler. The RS-422 communication conversion circuit board EC11 has to be installed
on the CPU board on the boiler side.
(2) Boiler allowing installation inside the control box
If a boiler allows the MI terminal MT1-200 to be installed inside the control box, the EJ-210 can
be installed in the same way. A setting plate and panel name plate are required for installation.
(3) Boiler without BL-model or XJ1-model controller
For a boiler that does not have a BL-model or XJ1-model controller, installation is possible using
the EJ-210 and AC input and output wiring only.

5. INSTALLATION
5.1.Precautions when Installing the Main Unit
•Install the EJ-210 in a location within the operation environment range (temperature and
humidity).
•Do not install the EJ-210 in a location below. This may result in equipment failure.
(1) Location subject to direct sunlight or near equipment that generates heat
(2) Hot location or location subject to severe temperature fluctuations
(3) Location with high levels of dust or humidity
(4) Location subject to shocks or vibrations
(5) Location with a chemical atmosphere or where equipment may contact chemicals, or
location subject to water splashing
(6) Location close to power transmission lines or near equipment that generates strong
magnetic fields
(7) Location subject to severe power supply voltage fluctuations
•Firmly secure the EJ-210 in a vibration-free position.
•Do not install the EJ-210 in a location subject to water, such as steam or condensation. Check
that condensation along steam piping cannot fall on the main unit of the EJ-210.
•During installation, do not touch circuit boards inside the main unit with bare hands. Take care
that no dirt or metal particles can enter the main unit of the EJ-210.
•When connecting the optional steam pressure sensor, install the EJ-210 in a location where the
wiring between the EJ-210 and steam pressure sensor does not exceed 2 m.
•The EJ-210 is designed for indoor installation only. To install it outdoors, take appropriate
waterproofing, dustproofing, and antifreezing measures, and avoid locations subject to direct
sunlight.
NOTE
The EJ-210 has the same installation dimensions as the MI terminal MT1-
200. If MT1-200 was connected to the boiler, the EJ-210 can be installed in
the same location.
CAUTION
Do not directly weld the EJ-210 to a column or wall. Arcs from welding, etc.
may damage internal electronic components.
CAUTION
Check the points below to confirm that the installation location meets the
required conditions. Installation in an inappropriate location may result in
equipment failure.

5.2.Installing EJ-210
5.2.1. Top of Control Box
Use the four M6 screws supplied to mount the EJ-210 on top of the control box.
(1) Drill mounting holes in the position where the EJ-210 is mounted.
Mounting dimensions: 115 mm × 350 mm (Refer to the overall view drawings.)
Mounting screws: M6 × 4 (supplied)
(2) Open the top cover of the EJ-210.
(3) Use the M6 screws supplied to secure the EJ-210.
NOTE 1: Use only the screws supplied. If other screws are used, they may contact and
damage the circuit board.
NOTE 2: Do not remove the rubber feet from the EJ-210. Removing the rubber feet may
result in damage to the circuit board when the EJ-210 is installed.
(4) When wiring is complete, close the top cover.

5.2.2. Boiler Allowing Installation inside the Control Box
For a boiler model that allows the MI terminal MT1-200 to be installed inside the control box, the EJ-
210 can be installed in the same way. Contact a MIURA sales office for more details.
A parts kit is required to install the EJ-210 inside a control box. Contact a MIURA sales office for
more details.
5.3.Installing RS-422 Communications Equipment
For a boiler that has a BL-model or XJ1-model controller, an RS-422 communication conversion circuit
board EC11 has to be installed in the control box.
Install the appropriate parts of the parts kit corresponding to the boiler. Contact a MIURA sales
office for more details.

5.4.Precautions when Installing the Steam Pressure Sensor
The EJ-210 can use boiler pressure as control information if the optional steam pressure sensor
is installed on the boiler. Be aware of the following points when installing or wiring the steam
pressure sensor.
•To allow comparison and reading of the pressures at the pressure sensor and the boiler
pressure gauge, install the steam pressure sensor close to the boiler pressure gauge.
•Install the steam pressure sensor vertically.
•Determine the installation position and perform wiring so that water such as steam and
condensation cannot flow along the wires toward the sensor.
•Use a siphon tube or other method to fully cool (as a guide, less than 80°C at the pressure-
receiving area) the piping to the steam pressure sensor.

6. WIRING
6.1.Precautions
(1) Wiring of power supply wires
•Use a wire with 2.0 mm2 or larger diameter for the power supply and crimp ring tongue
terminals.
•Connect the grounding phase of the power supply to the N phase. Be sure to ground the
equipment grounding terminal using a wire with a diameter equal to or larger than the
power supply wire diameter.
Provide Japanese D-type grounding(*) or better.
(2) Wiring of signal wires
•The wires used as signal wires and terminal processing must conform to “6.4 Wires for
Use”.
•Be sure to separate the signal wires, sensor wires, and input/output signal wires from
power output wires and power supply wires. Do not install them in the same conduit. Do
not install signal wires in a location where magnetic and electric fields are generated by
machine tools or next to high-output machinery.
•To mark the wires, use stamped mark tubes or mark bands.
6.2.Wiring Procedures
Perform wiring by passing each wire through the specified wire inlet.

6.4.Wires for Use

6.5.Signal Wires
6.5.1. AC Input Signal
The EJ-210 has the following five AC inputs.

NOTE 1: The connection positions in the table above assume a general MIURA boiler. The
connection position varies depending on the boiler control type and Sequence. Contact
your dealer or MIURA sales office for details.
When MIURA standard Sequence are used, refer to “7. EXAMPLES OF WIRING”.
NOTE 2: When the EJ-210 is connected to MIURA boilers without No. 66 terminal, short-circuit
the No. 66 and No. 6 terminals.
6.5.2. Output Signal
The EJ-210 has the following 5 contact outputs. The No. 19 and No. 79 terminals and No. 36
and No. 76 terminals are required for control. Be sure to make connection with the boiler for
these terminals.
Use the No. J1 and No. J2 terminals and No. J3 and No. J4 terminals if required.
The contact rating is normally-closed contact (b-contact), 250 VAC, 1 A (resistance load).

6.6.RS-422 Communication Line Wiring
For a boiler with a BL-model or XJ1-model controller mounted, a connection is required to the RS-422
communication conversion circuit board EC11 that is connected to the boiler-side CPU board. Use a
communication line wire (FCPEV(*), 0.9 mm, 2P, copper braided screen) to connect the RS-422
communication conversion circuit board EC11 of the EJ-210 to the RS-422 communication conversion
circuit board EC11 that is connected to the boiler-side CPU board.

6.7.M-NET3 Communication Line Wiring
Connect the EJ-210 to the hub on the M-NET3 communication system using shielded LAN cable.
Refer to the Installation Manual for the M-NET3 communication system before performing wiring.
To prevent the communication line wire from becoming loose or disconnected, form the wire into an
arc and secure it with a cable tie to the mounting base attached on the EJ-210.

CAUTION
Before performing wiring of M-NET3 communication line wires, carefully
read the Installation Manual for the M-NET3 communication system.
Perform wiring in accordance with the manual.
A mounting base attachment hole is provided
to the left and right of the M-NET3

depending on the direction of the

Ensure that the bending radius of the M-NET3

6.8.Steam Pressure Sensor Wiring
(1) Connect the steam pressure sensor wires after installing the sensor piping.
(2) Pass the steam pressure sensor wires through the bushing in the steam pressure sensor wire inlet.
(3) Connect the steam pressure sensor wires to the specified terminal block on the EJ-210 and the
side face of the EJ-210, as shown in the figure below.
P+ terminal: Red wire (Power supply positive (+))
P1 terminal: White wire (Voltage output)
P- terminal: Black wire (Power supply ground)
FG terminal: Gray wire (Shield)
