• All machine connections (cables, hoses and piping) should
be
installed so that the
risk of stumbli

is
reduced! (using cable ducts, bridges etc.)
Danger!
To ensure fault-free operation:
• Installation site should
be
prepared so that the machine
is
level on level ground!
• Mount all connections carefully and check for proper seati
ng!
Danger! Support stands or base plates must
be
anchored to the floor to ensure stability.
8 Commissioning
The conveyor body
should not be twisted.
Use a level both
lengthwise and across
to ensure that the
conveyor
is
level.
~
j?
Preliminary
Balance the stand for
final installation using
the leveling pads. For
temporary alignment or
ifthere are no leveling
pads available, use
spacer blocks.
To avoid machine damage or life-threatening injuries when commissioning the machi
ne
, the following
instructions must always
be
compli
ed
with:
Remove the securing nipple or safety plug at the bleed screw
of
the transmission system before starting the
engine. Important: Drive as well as idler pulleys and bearing rollers should be aligned axially parallel. Table
surfaces must
be
flat and parallel to the rollers.
• Only qualified persons may commission the machine
in
accordance with the safety instructions.
Activate all safety systems and emergency off switches prior to start up.
Also, read the "General safety information" section.
Only dehumidified compressed air may be used
in
the machine.
Prior to first start
of
the assembly system, check the following
in
succession:
1. Electrical connections
2. Compressed air connection/ Maintenance unit
3. Lubricant supply
After first start and before implementation in production, the function
of
all safety devices must
be
checked!

Stable tracking
is
generally achieved when the belt
runs
in
a central position over the tail at the infeed.
Adjustment
is
therefore carried out for one conveyor
direction only at the infeed.
If the infeed end
is
not accessible, make the
adjustment at the discharge end.
Applies to all tails.
Centre drive -reversin o eration
Correct setting at the tai
ls
for one conveyor
direction only often causes the belt to
deviate
in
reverse operation.
Therefore, adjustment for reversing
operation
is
carried out at the incoming
snub roller
in
the drive.
Applies to all tails.

.2.1 General information
Information regarding tensioning the belt
Maschinenbau Kitz GmbH
mk
Technology Group

info@mk-group.com
Before commencing the tensioning process, disconnect the conveyor from all power sources
and secure it against bei
ng
switched on unintentionally.
The guide value for the tension is as follows:
Belt pre-tension =conveyor length x 0.15% -
0.3%.
As a general rule, the pre-tension should only be
as high as
is
required for correct entrainment of the
belt under load.
Pre-tensioning example:
Two marks are made on the belt 1000 mm apart.
After tensioni
ng
, there must be a distance of
1001.5 mm -1003 mm between the markers.
Information on adjusting the belt:
& Adjustment must be carried out while the conveyor belt is running!
Beware of being drawn in!
Caution!
It is important to not on
ly
tighten the take up system alternately, but also
to
loosen it as required, to prevent
excessive belt tension.
