Read below before you start the assembly work:
•Installation must be carried out in a professional manner and in
accordance with the instructions of the respective vehicle manufacturer.
•Good functionality always depends on a correct installation, where all
cables and connections are correctly adapted in terms of cable area and
that cable lugs are "pressed" properly.
•These assembly instructions must be read before starting work.
•It is not allowed to use so-called current thieves/quick connectors ..

B. Step by step
1. Screw the trailer cable 1A with the parts 3A-3C onto the towbar, and pull the cable into the luggage compartment.
2. Check if there is battery voltage in the back of the car, use contact pin 2B. If it is not available, then feel free to use
our accessory supply cable 7KA1046 (7m long), and pull it up to the battery. The supplied wiring 2E must then not be
used.
3. Find a suitable location for the Control Unit 1C and mount it with the connectors facing down.
4. Insert the cables from the trailer cab 1A into the loose 6-pin connector 2A with the seals 2D.
5. Make sure that the cables are stopped in color against color so that they match the colors of the cables in the 6-pin
connector from the controller 1C.
6. Plug in the connectors in control unit 1C and locate the cables for the car's rear lights, then measure which cables
are for the taillights, turn signals and brake lights as described in the section “Electrical connection” below.
7. The U-cable lugs 2C are used to connect the control cable 1B to the car's rear lights.
8. The double-sided adhesive tape 3D is used to attach the guide in a suitable place after the surfaces have been
cleaned with the cleaning napkin 3E. If it is not possible to fasten with tape only - then use the fastening ears on the
control unit to fasten with a screw or cable tie.
Electrical connection:
1. Turn on the P-light and measure with a voltmeter at the rear lights which cable has 12 volts on, when the P-light is
on. If the voltage is lower, approx. 4-6 volts, proceed to point 3. Otherwise, connect the black cable to the left rear
light and the brown cable to the right rear light.
2. Measure the left turn signal with a voltmeter and connect the yellow cable. Do the same with the right and
connect the green cable.
3. SSwitch on the ignition, brake and measure which cable is connected to the brake light lamp (12 volts when the
brake is depressed) and connect the red cable. If the voltage is lower, approx. 4-6 volts, when the brake pedal is
released, black and brown cables do not need to be connected.
4. Connect battery plus + to TrailerSafe and secure 2x15A (see wiring diagram).
NOTE! The car must NOT be programmed for towbar after mounting TrailerSafe - this can cause
malfunctions on the car!
Connection of control cable 7KA1048-T2 (1B) to
the car's taillight:
1. Red - Brake light
2. Brown - Right taillight
3. Green - Right turn signal
4. Blue - Fog light
7. Black - Left taillight
8. Yellow - Left turn signal
Rear fog lights:
Cut the supply to the lamps and connect the wires
to pins 7 and 9 on the 12-pin connector.
Backup sensors:
Measure the common positive supply to the sensors. Cut
the cable and connect the positive supply to pin 9 and out
to the sensors from pin 7.
NOTE! For disconnection to work, the load on the right
rear light must be at least 6 watts.
C. Wiring connection to
the car's taillights
D. Disconnection of rear fog lights
or reverse sensor
