Manufacturing serial number denition:
Vendor code Identier # SKU-VersionWeek / Year
A 0271 V41200A32/18
A
This would mean the whole serial number for a V4 device would look as follows:
A32/18/0271/V41200A
And the whole serial number for a smarthub would look as follows:
A20/18/0372/SHUB01A
The logic to include each part of the serial number is as follows:
Vendor code: Can immediately see where a device has been manufactured
SKU-Version: Can immediately see the device model, note that the “A” at the end indicates variation within the device model
Week/year: Can immediately see when the device was manufactured (note: need to dene at which exact point in the process we consider it built)
Identier #: Identies the device within that week/year period and within that SKU, identier resets to 0 in a new week or with a new SKU-version
QR code:
The QR code should include only the manufacturing ID code: for example A20/18/0372
This would be the same for all labels, the text will vary, but the manufacturing code will remain the same on the QR code for all labels for the unit.
Label placement:
1. Back of the hub: version with the hub version appended to the serial number text
2. Side of the Smart Battery: version with the smart battery version appended to the serial number text
3. Outside of the packing: as 1 or 2 above depending on if the nal prodoct is a hub or a smart battery
