SCOPE
Products: InsulKrimp™ Pi yback Quick Disconnects Terminals 10–22 AWG. This tool head is intended for
use in the 19279-0001 (AT-200) either hand held or with optional bench adapter 19078-0307 (ATBA)
and foot switch.
Testin
Mechanical
The tensile test, or pull test, is a means of evaluatin the mechanical properties of the crimped connections.
The followin charts show the UL specifications for various wire sizes. The tensile stren th is shown in
pounds and indicates the minimum acceptable force to break or separate the terminal from the conductor.

OPERATION
Refer to the instruction manual for the 19279-0001 (AT-200) for
mountin this crimp tool head.
Crimpin Terminals
1. Push the terminal onto the tab locator all the way to the stop
in the proper color-coded nest. The male tab of the terminal
should be up. See Fi ure 1.
2. The hei ht of the locator may need to be adjusted when
chan in from one terminal size to another. To do this,
loosen the locator lock nut, (See Fi ure 3), and adjust hei ht
so the tab ali ns with the female locator tab. Ti hten the lock
nut.
3. Insert the wire into the terminal. Push the terminal and wire onto the tab locator all the way to the stop in
the proper color-coded nest. The barrel of the terminal should be up. See Fi ure 2.
4. In some cases, the overall size of the terminal prohibits it from bein loaded throu h the crimp dies and
into the locator. If so, the shorter tab locator, included with this tool, must be installed and then the
terminal can be loaded from the end or opposite side. Then the terminal can be crimped while holdin in
place with the wire. The shortened tab locator is stored underneath the locator. See fi ure 3.

CAUTION: Never operate this tool without the supplied safety shield in place. Never place fin ers in
the tool nests.
5. Push on the wire to assure it is still fully seated in the terminal. The wires end should butt a ainst the wire
stop stamped into each terminal. See Fi ure 2 and 3. Cycle the tool.
6. Remove the crimp and inspect for proper crimp location. Molex offers a Crimp Inspection Handbook for
closed barrel industrial product. See our website or contact your sales en ineer.
Note: Whenever crimpin without the locator, make sure the seam of the terminal is oriented up or down
in the tool if usin un-brazed product, as this will provide hi her pull force values.
7. If the insulation part of the crimp needs to be adjusted, first loosen the M4 screw on the bottom tool jaw,
then insert a 3/32 hex wrench (supplied) into the bottom of the lower die. See Fi ure 4. A clockwise
(CW) rotation decreases insulation crimp while a counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation increases insulation
crimp. After adjustin reti hten the M4 screw.
Maintenance
It is recommended that each operator of the tool be made aware of, and responsible for, the followin
maintenance steps:
1. Remove dust, moisture and other contaminants with a clean brush, or soft, lint-free cloth.
2. Do not use any abrasive materials that could dama e the tool.
3. Make certain all pins; pivot points and bearin
surfaces are protected with a thin coat of hi h
quality machine oil. Do not oil excessively. This
tool was en ineered for durability, but like any
fine piece of equipment it needs cleanin and
lubrication for a maximum service life of trouble-
free crimpin . Use a li ht oil such as 30 wei ht
automotive oil at the oil points shown in Fi ure
4, every 5,000 crimps or monthly will
si nificantly enhance the tool life and ensure a
stable calibration.
4. When tool is not in use store the tool in a clean,
dry area.

Tool Calibration
A Certificate of Calibration (see last pa e) was supplied with the tool. To
recalibrate this tool, pin au e measurements should be taken in each
conductor nest and compared to this chart. The tool should be lubricated
prior to recalibration to ensure consistent measurements.

vital components are lon -life tested. All tools are warranted to be free of manufacturin defects for a period
of 30 days. Should such a defect occur, we will repair or exchan e the tool free of char e. This repair or
exchan e will not be applicable to altered, misused or dama ed tools. This tool is desi ned for hand use
only. Any clampin , fixturin , or use of handle extensions voids this warranty.
CAUTION: Molex crimp specifications are valid only when used with Molex terminals, applicators and toolin .
