THE NATURE OF HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
The use of portable automotive lifting devices are subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means, but only
by the exercise of intelligence, care, and common sense. It is therefore essential to have owners and personnel involved in the use and
operation of the equipment who are careful, competent, trained, and qualied in the safe operation of the equipment and its proper
use. Examples of hazards are dropping, tipping or slipping of loads caused primarily by improperly securing loads, overloading,
off-centered loads, use on other than hard level surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose for which it was not designed.
METHODS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
 • Read,study,understandandfollowallinstructionsbeforeoperatingthisdevice.
 • Inspectthejackbeforeeachuse.Donotusejackifdamaged,altered,modied,inpoorcondition,leakinghydraulicuid,or
unstable due to loose or missing hardware or parts. Make corrections before using.
 • Liftonlyonareasofthevehicleasspeciedbythevehiclemanufacturer.
 • UsersandbystandersmustweareyeprotectionthatmeetsANSIZ87.1andOSHAstandards.
 • Donotusejackbeyonditsratedcapacity.
• This is a lifting device only. Immediately after lifting, support the vehicle with jack stands capable of sustaining the load
before working on the vehicle.
 • Useonlyonahardlevelsurfacefreefromobstructionssothejackisfreetorepositionitselfduringliftingandlowering
operations.

SETUP
BecomefamiliarwiththepartsidentiedintheseinstructionsbyreferringtothePARTSDRAWINGonpage6.
1. Thisjackcomeswithasaddleriser#5whichisusedwhenliftingavehiclewithhighergroundclearance.Normaltransportation 
 vehicleslikepassengercars,mid-sizevehiclesandmostsportscarscanbeliftedusingthestandardsmallsaddle#3.Fullsize 
 pickuptrucksandSUVswillprobablyrequiretheuseofthesaddleriser#5inmanycases.   
2. Changingsaddles:         
  a. Theperipheraledgeofthelargesaddlepad#60issecuredinthesaddle#6byitsinsertioninthegrooveofthesaddle. 
   Removethelargesaddlepadbypullingasectionofitsperipheraledgeoutofthesaddlegroove.Putthesaddlepadina 
safe place to prevent loss.
  b. Thesaddle#6issecuredtotheliftarm#7bywayofasaddlebolt#61.RemovethesaddleboltwiththeAllenwrench#26 
   butkeepthesaddleinplace.Donotlosethesaddlebolt#61.       
  c. Removethesmallsaddlepad#1fromthesmallsaddle#3thesamewayasdescribedinstep2a.Thesmallsaddleis 
   securedtothesaddleriser#5bywayoftheextendedsaddlebolt#2andtheretainingring#4.Removetheretainingring, 
   extendedsaddlebolt,andsaddlefromthesaddleriser.Storetheretainingring#4andsaddlebolt#61intheappropriate 
   counterboresofthesaddleriser#5.        
  d. Inserttheextendedsaddlebolt#2throughtheholeinthesmallsaddle#3,holeinthesaddleriser#5andholeinthe
   saddle#6.Thiswillcapturetheretainingring#4andsaddlebolt#61inthesaddlerisercounterbores.Screwthethreaded 
   endoftheextendedsaddlebolt#2intheliftarm#7andtightenwiththeAllenwrench#26.    
  e. Reinstallthesmallsaddlepad#1inthesmallsaddle#3andsecuretheAllenwrenchintheclip#25.
3. IMPORTANT: In most cases the jack should work normally right out of the box but it is not unusual for air to get trapped in the
jack's hydraulic system during shipping and handling. There are several symptoms of an air trapped hydraulic system which include
only partial incremental pump stroke, jack will not lift a load, jack will not sustain load or pumping feels spongy under load. The
following procedure will purge air from the hydraulic system and only needs to be done if experiencing any of the above mentioned
conditions.
  a. Thesaddleshouldbeinitslowestposition.Closethereleasevalvebyturningthehandleclockwiseuntilitstops.Nowturn
the handle counterclockwise two full rotations.
  b. Pumpthejack15fullincrementalpumpstrokestoremoveairfromthehydraulicsystem.    
  c. Closethereleasevalvebyturningthehandleclockwiseuntilitstops.Pumpthejacktoitsmaximumheight.  
d. If the condition seems better, repeat steps a through c until all air is purged from the system.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
   ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedfortheOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONSsectionofthismanualtoalertyoutopotential
personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid personal injury and/or property damage.
IMPORTANT:Beforeattemptingtoraiseanyvehicle,checkvehicleservicemanualforrecommendedliftingsurfaces. 
1. Determineiftheliftapplicationrequirestheuseofthesaddleriser#5andifnecessary,makethechangeaccordingtheinstructions
 intheASSEMBLYINSTRUCTIONSsectionofthismanual.        
2. Thejack'stelescopichandleiscomprisedofthelowerhandle#43andupperhandle#45.Thesehandlesintheircollapsed
 positionaresecuredtogetherbywayofthespringbutton#44,nearestthehandgripendoftheupperhandle,engagingaholein
 thelowerhandle#44.Inordertoextendthetelescopichandlesthespringbuttonmustbedepressedtodisengagethehole.The
upper handle can be extended and rotated until the other spring button in the lower portion of the upper handle engages the hole in
the lower handle.
3. Thetelescopichandleservestwopurposes.Whencollapsedandfoldedforward,thehandlehook#9canberotatedoverthetopof
 thehandlethusprovidingameansbywhichtocarrytheentirejackbythehandle.Disengagingthehookfromthehandle,rotating
the hook out of the way of the saddle height, folding the handle to its pump position and extending the telescopic handle to its
locked position, enables the handle to operate the hydraulic power unit. IMPORTANT: The telescopic handle locks into and
 releasesfromthelowerhandleyoke#42bydepressingthespringloadedlock#47.      
 4.Putvehicletransmissioninparkoringearandthenapplytheemergencybrake.Toraiseload:Turnthehandleinaclockwise
 directionuntiltight.Positionthejackundertheload.Proceedtopumpthehandleinordertoraisetheliftarmtotheload.Asthe 
saddle at the end of the lift arm gets closer to the load, reposition the jack so the saddle will contact the load rmly and the load is
 centeredonthesaddle.Makesurethesaddleiscorrectlypositioned.Raisetheloadalittlehigherthanthedesiredworkheight.
 Placejackstandsofappropriatecapacityatthevehiclemanufacturer'srecommendedsupportareasthatprovidestablesupportfor
the raised vehicle. DO NOT CRAWL UNDER VEHICLE WHILE LIFTING VEHICLE OR PLACING OR REMOVING JACK
STANDS!Oncejackstandsarepositioned,turnthejackhandleVERYSLOWLYinacounterclockwisedirectiontolowertheloadto
rest on the jack stands. Inspect the relationship between the jack stands and load to make sure the setup is stable and safe. If the
setup is not stable or safe, follow the preceding steps until corrected.
5. Tolowerload:Followtheproceduresmentionedin"Toraiseaload"sectionoftheOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONSinordertoraisethe
load off the jack stands. Once the load has cleared the jack stands, remove the jack stands from under the load and away from the
work area. Turn handle very slowly in a counterclockwise direction until the load is completely lowered to the ground. Once the
jack's saddle has cleared the load, remove the jack from under the load. CAUTION: Keep hands and feet away from the hinge
mechanism of the jack. DO NOT CRAWL UNDER VEHICLE WHILE LIFTING VEHICLE OR PLACING OR REMOVING JACK
STANDS!

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.
IMPORTANT: Anyjackfoundtobedefectiveasaresultofwornpartsduetolackoflubrication,orhydraulicsystem
contaminated with water, rust and/or foreign materials is not eligible for warranty consideration.
1. Alwaysstorethejackinawellprotectedareawhereitwillnotbeexposedtoinclementweather,corrosivevapors,abrasivedust,or
any other harmful elements. The jack must be cleaned of water, snow, sand, grit, oil, grease or other foreign matter before using.
2. Thejackmustbelubricatedperiodicallyinordertopreventprematurewearingofparts.Ageneralpurposegreasemustbeappliedto
 allpivotpointswithexceptiontohydrauliccomponents.Donotlubricateanyportionoftheliftsaddleandmakesurethesaddleisfree
from grease, any kind of lubricant, or debris before using the jack.
3. Itshouldnotbenecessarytorellortopoffthereservoirwithhydraulicuidunlessthereisanexternalleak.Anexternalleakrequires
immediate repair which must be performed in a dirt-free environment by qualied hydraulic repair personnel who are familiar with this
 equipment.AuthorizedServiceCentersarerecommended.IMPORTANT:Inordertopreventsealdamageandjackfailure,neveruse
 alcohol,hydraulicbrakeuid,ortransmissionoilinthejack.Usehydraulicjackoil.
4. Everyjackownerisresponsibleforkeepingthejacklabelcleanandreadable.Useamildsoapsolutiontowashexternalsurfacesof
the jack but not any moving hydraulic components.
5. Donotattempttomakeanyhydraulicrepairsunlessyouareaqualiedhydraulicrepairpersonthatisfamiliarwiththisequipment.
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM: UNIT WILL NOT LIFT RATED LOAD.
ACTION: PurgeairfromhydraulicsystembyfollowingprocedureunderSETUP.
PROBLEM: UNIT WILL NOT SUSTAIN RATED LOAD OR FEELS "SPONGY" UNDER RATED LOAD.
ACTION:Purgeairfromhydraulicsystemasabove.
PROBLEM: UNIT WILL NOT LIFT TO FULL HEIGHT.
ACTION: Purgeairfromhydraulicsystemasaboveorcheckoillevelinreservoir.
PROBLEM: UNIT STILL DOES NOT OPERATE.
ACTION: Contactyourplaceofpurchasefordetailsonhandlingwarranty.
Monster warrants that all and jacks and service related equipment will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period
of 2 years following the original date of purchase. This warranty is extended to the original retail purchaser only. If any jack or
service-related item proves to be defective during this period, it will be replaced or repaired, at Monster’s option, without charge.
This warranty does not apply to damage from accident, overload, misuse or abuse, nor does it apply to any equipment which has
been altered or used with special attachments other than those recommended. This warranty does not cover repairs made by
anyonewhoisnotaMonsterProfessionalLiftingEquipmentAuthorizedRepairCenter.
Allotherjacksorservice-relatedequipmentwillbereplacedorrepairedatMonster’soptionduringthe2yearwarrantyperiod.
Duringthe2yearwarrantyperiod,allallegeddefectiveproductsmustbeshipped,freightprepaid,alongwithproofofdate-of-
purchase,toyournearestMonsterProfessionalLiftingEquipmentAuthorizedWarrantyCenter.Becertaintoincludeyourname,
address and phone number along with proof-of-purchase information, and a brief description of the alleged defect. The product will
be returned to the customer, freight prepaid.
ManyallegeddefectivesmaysimplybehandledbycallingyournearestServiceCenterforparts.Seepages17-19foralistingof
authorized warranty service centers.
In no event shall Monster be liable for incidental or consequential damages. The liability on any claim for loss or damage arising out

3. IMPORTANTE: En la mayoría de los casos, el gato deberá funcionar de manera normal al sacarlo de la caja, sin embargo no es
 inusualqueseatrapeaireenelsistemahidráulicodelgatoduranteeltransporteylamaniobra.Hayvariasindicacionesdeun
sistema hidráulico con aire atrapado, las cuales incluyen sólo un recorrido incremental parcial de la bomba, el gato no elevará la
carga, el gato no sostendrá la carga o el bombeo se siente esponjoso bajo la carga. El procedimiento a continuación purgará el aire
del sistema hidráulico y sólo requiere realizarse si es que se experimente cualquiera de las condiciones anteriormente mencionadas.

1. Determinesilaaplicacióndelevantamientorequiereelusodelelevadordelasilla#5Isiseanecesario,realiceelcambiode
 acuerdoconlasinstruccionesenlaseccióndeINSTRUCCIONESDEENSAMBLADOenestemanual.   
2. Elmangotelescópicodelgatoestácompuestoporunmangoinferior#43yelmangosuperior#45.Estosmangosensus
 posicionesplegadasestánsujetadosjuntospormediodeunbotónderesorte#44,lomáscercanoalextremodelagarremanual
 delmangosuperior,encajandounagujeroenelmangoinferior#44.Conelndeextenderlosmangostelescópicos,sedeberá
oprimir el botón de resorte para desencajar el agujero. El mango superior puede extenderse y girarse hasta que el otro botón de
resorte en la parte inferior del mango superior se encaje con el agujero en el mango inferior.
3. Elmangotelescópicosirveparadospropósitos.Cuandoestáplegadoydobladohaciaadelante,elganchodelmango#9puede 
 girasesobrelapartesuperiordelmango,asíbrindandolosmediosparacargarelgatocompletoporelmango.Aldesencajarel
gancho del mango, al girar el gancho fuera de la altura de la silla, doblar el mango hasta su posición de bombeo y al extender el
 mangotelescópicohastasuposiciónbloqueada,sepermitequeelmangooperelaunidaddepotenciahidráulica.IMPORTANTE:El
 mangotelescópicosecierraen,yseliberade,laabrazaderadelmangoinferior#42yaloprimirelcierreconresorte#47.
4. Pongalatransmisióndelvehículoenlaposiciónde“estacionada”oenmarchayluegoapliqueelfrenodemano.Paraelevarla
 carga:Gireelmangoenelsentidodelasagujasdelrelojhastaqueestéapretado.Posicioneelgatodebajodelacarga.Proceda
a bombear el mango con el n de elevar el brazo de levantamiento hasta la carga. En la medida que la silla en el extremo del brazo
de levantamiento se acerque a la carga, reposicione el gato con el n de que la silla tenga contacto rme con la carga y la carga
 estécentradaenlasilla.Asegúresequelasillaestécorrectamenteposicionada.Elevelacargaunpocomásaltoquelaaltura
 deseadadeltrabajo.Coloquelasbasesparagatodelacapacidadadecuadaenlasáreasdesoporterecomendadasporel

general en todas las articulaciones, las ruedas pivotantes y del eje delantero, el brazo elevador, los pernos pivotantes de la base de la
palanca, el sistema de seguridad y las demás supercies de apoyo. Nolubriqueningunapartedelasilladeelevaciónyantesdeusar
el gato, asegúrese que la silla esté libre de grasa, cualquier tipo de lubricante o escombros.
3. Nodeberásernecesariorellenarollenaraltopeeldepósitoelquecontieneellíquidohidráulico,almenosquehayaunafugaexterna.

4. Cadapropietariodelgatoesresponsablepormantenerlimpiasylegibleslasetiquetasdelgato.Useunasolucióndejabónsuave
para lavar las supercies externas del gato pero sin mover ninguno de los componentes hidráulicos móviles externos.
