Before Starting
Essential General Precautions for Unpacking the Motorcycle
• Placethemetallicpackagingonaatsurfacewherethereisnoriskofitslipping.
• Workinaplaceprotectedfromwindandrain.
• Toavoidinjuries,wearglovestounpackthemotorcycle.
• Work carefully and wear suitable clothing to avoid scratching the paintwork and metal
surfaces.
• Takespecialcarenottohurtyourhandsonprotrudingpartsorsharpedgesofthepackaging.
• Theenginemustnotbestartedunderanycircumstances.
After unpacking:
 Proceedproperlytorecyclepackagingmaterialssuchasmetal,plastics,etc.
• Allinformationinthispublicationisbasedonthelatestproductinformationavailableatthe
timeofapprovalforprinting.

WARNING
• Theremoval,unpackingandassemblyofthe
motorcyclemustbedonebytwopeople.
• Work with precaution when handling the
motorcycletoavoiddamage.
• Placethemotorcycleboxonalevelsurface.
• Removetheaccessoryboxes.
• Removetheplastictie-wrapsfromrearwheel
mounting support.
• Remove the four screws from rear wheel
mounting support.

• Lift and pull rear wheel mounting support (a)
towardtoremoveit.
Removewheelprotector(b).
• Remove the eighteen screws from metallic
structure.
• Liftupandremovemetallicstructurefromthe
base.Youwillneedtwopeopletoperfomthis
operation.
NOTICE
Remove metallic structure carefully to avoid
motorcycle damage.
• Removetheattachmentstrapfromcrankcase
cover.

• Removethefrontattachmentstraps.
 Remove the support straps for the right and
left front parts of the steering fork from the
metallic base.
NOTICE
Hold the motorcycle safely to prevent it from
falling on the ground.

WARNING
• Before taking the motorcycle off the base,
checkthattherearenoobjectsontheoor
that might obstruct the operation.
• Makesurethebikeisnotingear.
• Liftthemotorcyclefromthemetallicbase.
 Rollthemotorcycleforwardgently.
• Holdthemotorcyclewithsidestand.
• Removethe plastic protectivewrappingfrom
frontfork(a).
• Remove the plastic protector from left
crankcasecover(b).
• Removetheplasticprotectorfromclutchcover
(c).
• Attach the parts supplied in the accessory
boxes; the rear view mirrors, the handlebar
protectorandthetaillight,etc.
NOTE:
Check all the points stated in the following
servicelistpriortodelivery.
Consult the user’s/workshop manual to see
thedetailedspecicationsandprocedures.
Alwayscarryoutadynamictesttomakesure
thatitworksproperly.

CHECK LIST PRIOR TO DELIVERY
Check the free play for the throttle grip, the
cable installation and the operation in all the
steering positions.
Checktheairpressureinthetyres.
Checktheelectricalcomponentstomakesure
theyworkproperlyandproperlyadjusted.
• Headlight
- Lowbeam.
- Highbeam.
- Positionlight.
• Taillight.
- Positionlight.
- Frontbrakelightswitch
- Rearbrakelightswitch
• Flashingturnindicators(left/right).
• Horn.
• Enginestopswitch.
• Registrationplatelight.
• Instrumentpanelindicators.
 Coolantlevel.
 Engineoillevel.
Checkthatallthenuts,boltsandotherretainers
aretightenedsecurely.
Make sure that all the applicable campaigns
for updating and call-in for the product are
met.
Cleanthefrontandrearbrakedisk.
Clean all M/C parts (Engine, front fork,
swingarm, and wheels) to remove anti-
corrotion spray protector.
TESTRUN:
Checktheworking,handlingandoperation.
• Transmissionandclutch:easeofchanging
gear,workingoftheclutch,etc.
• Acceleration:smoothness,etc.
• Running:smoothness,etc.
• Handling: stability and ease of changes in
direction.
• Brakes:smoothnessandbrakingforce.
• Idlespeed:smoothness,throttleresponse,
returntoidlespeed.
• Checktheidlespeedagain10minutesafter
stoppingandridethebikeagain.
• Speedometer and odometer: working
correctly.
• At the end of the test run, check whether
thereareanyfuel,oilorcoolantleaks;check
thatthefanworks.

Arranquedelmotorenfrío:Pongalatransmisiónenpuntomuerto.CON EL ACELERADOR
COMPLETAMENTE CERRADO,accioneelpedaldearranque.Empezandoenlapartesuperiordel
recorridodelpedal,píselohastaelfondoconunmovimientorápidoycontinuado.Despuésdearrancar
elmotor,déjeloenfuncionamientoduranteunosminutos.

ATTENTION - VERY IMPORTANT
Coldenginestarting:Shiftthetransmissionintoneutral.WITH THE THROTTLE COMPLETELY
CLOSED,operatethekick-starterpedal.Startingwiththekick-starterpedalintheuprightposition,
kickitallthewaydownusingafast,continuousmotion.Aftertheenginestarts,letitwarmupforafew
minutes.

COMPLÈTEMENT FERMÉE,actionnerlapédalededémarrage.Encommençantparlapartie
supérieuredelacoursedelapédale,appuyerdessusàfondenunmouvementrapideetcontinu.
Aprèsledémarrage,laisserfonctionnerlemoteurquelquesminutes.

ATTENZIONE - IMPORTANTISSIMO
Avviamentoafreddodelmotore:Mettereilcambioinfolle.SENZA APRIRE L’ACCELERATORE,
azionareilpedalediavviamento.Cominciaredalpuntosuperioredellacorsadelpedaleepremerlo
noinfondoconunmovimentorapidoeuniforme.Dopoaveravviatoilmotore,lasciarloscaldareper
alcuni minuti.
