proximity to the machine in which the presence of an exposed person constitutes a
risk to the health and safety of that person.
“EXPOSED PERSON”, any person who is found to be entirely or partly in a
dangerous area.
“OPERATOR”, the person or people responsible for the installation, operation,
regulation, maintenance, cleaning, repair and transportation of the machine.
- the maintenance officer is the person responsible for the transportation,
installation, setting up, regulation, cleaning, repair and maintenance of the
machine. This person must be qualified with relevant specialisation courses and
training etc and have relevant experience with regard to the transportation,
installation, setting up and installation of machines and mechanical, electrical,

positioning of material and to control operations and regulations. These people must
fully understand all of the instructions and the method of operation of the machine as
outlined in this manual. It is completely forbidden for any of these employees to carry
out any operations different from those included in Chapter 5-6.
The operative must be fully aware of the workings of the machine and its
controls, he/she must have read and understood all the information contained in
this manual and must be aware of the residual risks.
It is the employer’s responsibility to accurately inform all operators of the risks of accident, of
the individual protection devices available and of the general anti-accident regulations laid
down by international or national law. All operators are required to respect the anti-accident
regulations of the destination country for the machine in order to prevent possible accidents.
You are reminded that the European Community has issued some directives with regard to
the health and safety of workers, including the following directives which every employer is

3.4 Noise
The machine mod. 901-3600 has been planned and built in order to reduce to a minimum
acoustic pollution. In the table here below are reported the levels of sound pressure noticed
in different points around the machine indicated in plate. The area marked with an X is to be
considered as the work place reserved for the machine operator.
The values are reported in accordance with the normative project ISO/CD 11202 at a heigh
of 1,5 m. from the ground.
Tests were conducted with the machine working in automatic cycle.
X = 75dbA
B=76 dbA
C=78 dbA
D=76 dbA
These values have been measured with an integration time of 300 sec.
If the machinery are performing works in places in wich noise level exceed 80 dBA, the
employer must apply all measures to protect the workers health according the Directive
86/188/CEE foreseen in Italy by D.P.R.n.277 issued on 15.8.1991.
MONTI ANTONIO S.P.A. is available to supply assistance in the analysis and research of
solutions to problems which may arise concerning noise risk.

3.7 Areas with safety devices
The machine is equipped with a series of fixed protection and safety devices that state clearly
the operator’s operative field in order to guarantee safety.
A - N°4 emergency buttons located at the front and rear of the machine
B - Total streamlining of the machine.
C - Safety locks located on the side panels can only be operated by the proper tool
D - Padlock fastening which blocks the interception valve of compressed air when it is
in a closed position in order to avoid the accidental opening of the valve when the
machine is undergoing maintenance.
E - In order to avoid the danger of burning on the heated cylinder, the paper separation
system and the fixed steel bar, limit the operator’s field of action and exposes only a
small area of the heated surface. During the process, the remaining heated area is
covered by the materials being treated. APPROPRIATE SPATULAS FOR EXTRACTING
FABRIC AND PAPER ARE PROVIDED, THIS TASK MUST NEVER BE CARRIED OUT
WITH BARE HANDS.
F - Protective device at the material insertion point :
To avoid the accidental dragging of hands between the felt and the printing cylinder,
a fixed steel bar has been installed.
APPROPRIATE SPATULAS FOR EXTRACTING FABRIC AND PAPER ARE PROVIDED,
THIS TASK MUST NEVER BE CARRIED OUT WITH BARE HANDS.
G - Hand protection located on the front part of the machine consisting of a pull-cord
complete with machine stop switch.
If the above safety measures are adopted, the machine will be safe for the operator to use
without running the risk of crushing, trapping or burns.
It is of utmost importance that these devices are not removed or tampered with and
that they are maintained in perfect working order.

3.8 Areas with residual risk
Residual risks are present in some parts of the machine where it has not been possible to
eliminate these during the planning stage or delimit them safely given the particular function
of the machine. Every operator must be aware of the residual risks associated with this
machine before use in order to prevent possible accident:
A. Danger of hands crush due to the introduction of the materials.
WARNING
HAND TRAPPING DANGER DUE TO
THE INTRODUCTION OF MATERIALS.
THE OPERATOR MUST LEAVE THE MATERIALS SLIDE
AND DO NOT
INTRODUCE THEM WITH THE HANDS.
DO NOT USE THE HANDS FOR SUCH TASK.
APPROPRIATE SPATULAS FOR INTRODUCTION AND EXTRACTING FABRIC AND
PAPER ARE PROVIDED, THIS TASK MUST NEVER BE CARRIED OUT WITH BARE
HANDS.
Obligationtoworkintheproperareaequippedwith the means to cancel such
residual risk.
B. Danger of damage due to the movement of mechanic parts inside the shields in
case of side panels opening.
Obligationtooperateaccordingtothegeneralrecommendations relating to
maintenance.
C. Danger of burnings caused by touching the heated print cylinder during the
materials entrance or the maintenance.
Obligation to use the protection gloves
Obligation to work in the proper area equipped with the means to cancel such
residual risk. Operate according to the general recommendations relating to
maintenance.
D. Danger of damages caused by lifting paper and fabric hold rolls during the
materials loading.
Obligationtooperateaccordingtothegeneralrecommendations regarding
the materials loading for the sublimatic print.
E. Power origin danger.

4.INSTALLATION
Staff interested in the installation of the machine must be qualified and have
relevant technical training and experience to allow them to carry out the different
operations competently.
4.1 Transportation and packaging
It is necessary to pay very close attention when lifting, transporting and positioning
the machine
.
The series 901-3600 machines are tested thoroughly by MONTI Antonio and are generally
transported fully assembled on crates or pallets.
To unload the machine successfully, it is necessary to be equipped with an adequate
carrying capacity, far greater than the gross weight of the package stamped on the crate.
The figure shows how the movement of the machine must be carried out.
Carefully support the package on the ground to open it.
The machine must only be moved by applying the lifting accessories (ropes and bars) as
shown in the diagram below
.

WARNING: use a means which allows you to safely lift a weight equal to that of the machine;
the weight is shown in the table 2.
In order to obtain the full functionality of the machine, it is necessary to install it on a perfectly
level surface. This operation is carried out by placing a spirit level on the appropriate screws
located at the (back) of the machine to check the vertical alignment; then do the same above
the printing cylinder to check the horizontal alignment. Undoubtedly these alignments
require the use of the appropriate thickness of sheet metal ( 10cm. x 10cm. thickness
3mm. )or, in any case, of crushproof and non-perishable material.. It is essential when
positioning the machine to observe the minimum distances around the edge of the machine
with regard to fixed obstacles or obstacles which are difficult to move. The distances (in front
of and behind the machine) should be decided by the operator based on his knowledge of the
job and the size and movement of manufactured goods which are inserted into and
withdrawn from the machine.
As far as the distances to either side of the machine are concerned, it is necessary
to take in to account the fact that the resistors can be removed both from the left-
hand and right-hand side of the machine Consider a minimum distance of 4mt. for
the right side. A distance of 2mt. is sufficient on the left-hand side.
To determine the right and left lateral distance one must stand looking directly in
front of the working side of the machine.
