4Select the required filter „for 1
cup or ‰for 2 cups and place in
the filter holder ‡F.The filters
have many inlet holes and a single
outlet hole.
5Using your measuring spoon Ê
supplied, place one or two
measures of ground coffee into the
filter, depending on filter choice.
Use the compactor on the other end
ofthe measuring spoon Átotamp
down the coffee G.Do not overfill
the filter. Wipe around the edge of
the filter to remove any coffee
grounds.
6Place the filter holder on the
brewing head fiwith the handle to
the left H.With the filter holder flat
against the brewing head, turn the
handle to the right as far as it will
go I.
7Place one or two pre-heated cups
below the holes in the filter holder J
or K.When the coffee maker is at
the correct temperature the coffee
cup symbol will be displayed.
8Move the coffee or steam lever
down to the coffee setting. You will
hear the coffee maker make a
pumping noise, this is normal.
9Once the cups are filled to the
desired level, pull the lever to the
off position. Water will still filter
through for approximately 8
seconds after the coffee maker has
been turned off.
10 Carefully remove the filter holder by
turning the handle slowly to the left.
11 To remove the used coffee grounds
from the filter, push the filter lock fl
forwardover the edge of the filter
and turn the filter holder upside
down. Gently tap out the coffee L.
12 Once the coffee cup symbol shows,
your coffee maker is ready to make
the next espresso.
• It is normal for the symbols on the
display to cycle on and off during
the water heat-up process.
Using with the coffee
pods
1Select the pod filter Âand place in
the filter holder M.
2Remove the espresso pod from the
packaging N.
3Place the coffee pod in the filter
with the flap placed inside the filter
O.
4Place the filter holder on the
brewing head with the handle to
the left H.With the filter holder flat
against the brewing head, turn the
handle to the right as far as it will
go I.
5Place a pre-heated cup below the
holes in the filter holder J.
• One coffee pod has the measured
amount of coffee for one single
espresso. When the coffee maker is
at the correct temperature the
coffee cup symbol will be displayed.
6Move the lever down to the coffee
setting. The coffee maker makes a
pumping noise, this is normal.
7Once the cup is nearly filled to the
desired level, move the lever back
to the off position. Water will filter
through for approximately 8
seconds after the coffee maker has
been turned off.
8Remove by turning the filter holder
slowly to the left.
9To remove the pod from the filter,
push the filter lock forward over the
edge of the filter and turnthe filter
holder upside down L.
10 Once the coffee cup symbol shows,
your coffee maker is ready to make
the next espresso.
•It is normal for the symbols on the
display to cycle on and off during
the water heat-up process.
