Two year guarantee
This guarantee is valid in the UK and Ireland
only. It is in your interest to retain the retailers receipt
as proof of purchase. Please quote the following
information if the product develops a fault. These
numbers can be found on the base of the product.
Model No. Serial No.
All Morphy Richards products are individually tested
before leaving the factory. In the unlikely event of any
appliance proving to be faulty within 28 days of
purchase it should be returned to the place of purchase
for it to be replaced.
If the fault develops after 28 days and within 24
months of original purchase, you should contact the
Helpline number quoting Model number and Serial
number on the product, or write to the address below.
You will be asked to return the product (in secure,
adequate packaging) to the address below along with a
copy of proof of purchase. Subject to the exclusions
set out below (see ‘Exclusions’) the faulty appliance will
then be repaired or replaced and dispatched usually
within 7 working days of receipt.
If for any reason this item is replaced during the 2
year guarantee period, the guarantee on the new item
will be calculated from original purchase date. Therefore
it is vital to retain your original till receipt or invoice to
indicate the date of initial purchase.
To qualify for the 2 year guarantee the appliance
must have been used according to the
manufacturers instructions. For example the crumb
tray should be emptied regularly as recommended by
the instructions.
EXCLUSIONS
Morphy Richards shall not be liable to replace
or repair the goods under the terms of the
Guaranteewhere:
1 The fault has been caused or is attributable to
accidental use, misuse, negligent use or used
contrary to the manufacturers recommendations
or where the fault has been caused by power
surges or damage caused in transit.
2 The appliance has been used on a voltage
supply other than that stamped on the
products.
3 Repairs have been attempted by persons other
than our service staff (or authorised dealer).
4 Where the appliance has been used for hire
purposes or non-domestic use.
5 Morphy Richards are not liable to carry out any
type of servicing work, under the guarantee.
This guarantee does not confer any rights other
than those expressly set out above and does not cover
any claims for consequential loss or damage. This
guarantee is offered as an additional benefit and does
not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances,
basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
1Read all the instructions.
2Do not use the toaster other than for
its intended use.
3Do not use outdoors.
4Do not immerse the toaster, cord or
plug in water or other liquid.
5Do not let the mains lead overhang the
edge of a worktop where a child could
reach it.
6 Never allow a child to operate this
toaster.
7Unplug from the socket when not in
use and before cleaning.
8Do not operate any appliance with a
damaged plug, or after an appliance
has malfunctioned, or has been
dropped or damaged in any way.
Contact Morphy Richards for advice
on examination, repair or electrical or
mechanical adjustment.
This appliance contains no user
serviceable parts.
9Only use attachments or tools
recommended by Morphy Richards.
10Do not move the toaster when plugged
in or hot. Do not lift or move the toaster
by inserting fingers in bread slots.
11 Do not let the mains lead contact hot
surfaces. Never wrap the cable around
the toaster only use the cable storage
provided.
12Do not touch the metal top of the
toaster it will get very hot in use. To
avoid this risk only ever use the
handles and knobs provided to
activate or move the toaster.
13 Do not use the toaster on or near a
cooking hob or heated oven.
14Use the toaster only with it placed on a
heat resistant surface.
15Leave sufficient space all around the
toaster to allow the hot air to escape.
Take special care to keep the toaster
away from flammable materials such
as curtains or draperies during and
after use. Do not use underneath
cupboards.
16Never cover the toaster.
17Do not put any food other than bread
intothe toaster.
18Do not use oversize bread or bread
that expands in heat (eg pitta bread).
19Do not insert metal foil packages into
the toaster. These involve a risk of
electric shock or fire.
20Never insert utensils into the toaster.
This will involve a risk of electric shock
and may damage the toaster. If
oversize bread gets stuck in the slots,
unplug the toaster from the socket and
allow it to cool before attempting to
remove the bread.
21Do not leave your toaster unattended
when in use.

Check that the voltage on the rating plate of
your appliance corresponds with your house
electricity supply which must be A.C.
(Alternating Current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not
suitable for the plug supplied with this
appliance the plug should be removed and the
appropriate one fitted.

1Before using to toast for the first time,
the toaster should be switched on
without bread to remove the new “smell”
that all heating elements make. When
doing this the smell is not harmful but
the room should be well ventilated during
this period. The toaster browning control
knob should be set to the maximum (8).
NOTE - The bread carriage lever will
not stay down unless there is
power to the toaster.

1Select the desired level of browning from
1 to 8.
2Place your bread in the slots.
3Press the bread carriage lever down until
it holds into place.
4When the set degree of browning has
been reached the bread will automatically
pop-up and the bread carriage lever will
have returned to its original position.
5Remove the bread.

1The required toasting time of the bread will
vary depending on the type, thickness and
freshness of the bread. Thicker, fresher
bread and bread with a higher moisture
content will require a higher setting.
2If the toaster is not fully loaded (eg only
one slice) then the browning control
should be set to a slightly lower setting.
3Do not re-toast bread on a high setting. If
you wish to make the toast slightly darker
re-toast use a low setting or use the
re-heat function.
4If you wish to stop the toasting cycle at
any time press the Cancel button.

The cancel button may be pressed at any
time to stop the toasting cycle and return the
bread carriage lever to the off position. If
however oversize bread has jammed the
bread carriage lever in the on position (down),
the toaster must be unplugged and
allowed to cool before any attempt is
made to remove the bread.

To toast frozen bread, do not adjust the
browning control, press the frozen button
immediately after the bread carriage lever has
locked down and this will automatically extend
the toasting cycle. The LED indicator next to
the frozen button will illuminate to show that
this feature has been activated.

If your toast has popped up and gone cold
the toaster offers a re-heat facility. To use,
depress the bread carriage lever and press
the Re-heat button immediately. The toaster will
operate for a short period to re-heat the bread.
The LED indicator next to the button will
illuminate to show that this feature has been
activated.

Raise the bread carriage lever to lift the
toast/bread higher in the bread slots. This
feature is particularly useful for removing small
items such as teacakes, rolls and short slices
of bread.

•In order to achieve uniform browning, we
recommend you wait a minimum of 30
seconds between each toasting, so that the
control can automatically be reset.
•If toasting one slice only, you may need to
adjust the browning control to a slightly
lower setting.
•Stale bread toasts more rapidly than fresh
bread. Therefore, the browning control
should be set at a lower setting than usual.
•All sorts of bread can be used as well as
teacakes, small rolls etc. Slices should not
however be so thick as to cause burning or
jamming within the bread slots.
•When toasting 2 slices or more it is
recommended they are of equal size and
freshness.
•Allow the toaster to cool fully before putting
away.

1After use and before cleaning, switch off
at the mains, remove the plug from the wall
socket and wait for the toaster to cool.
2Wipe the outside of the toaster with a damp
cloth only and dry with another cloth or
tissue.
•NEVER use metal polish or coarse scouring
agents and never immerse your toaster in
any sort of liquid.
•NEVER use any pointed or sharp articles
for cleaning the inside, otherwise the
heating element will be damaged.
•NEVER use a brush or push your fingers or
metal objects down the slots.

Crumbs will accumulate in the crumb tray
and could catch fire if not emptied periodically.
When the toaster has cooled down completely,
tap the sides of the case lightly to dislodge any
crumbs lodged in the toasting chamber and pull
out the crumb tray . Empty the tray and
replace it.

Rotate the warming rack knob to raise the
bun carrier. Place the buns or other items onto
the carrier. Set the browning control knob to
between 1 and 3. Depress the bread carriage
lever until it holds down. Wait for the toaster to
switch off
automatically or
press the Cancel
button to switch the
toaster off before
removing the buns.
Take care, not to
touch the metal of
the bun carrier that
will be hot.
