1. Introduction
Thank you for buying the Inverter TIG inverter PONTIG 3200 DC MOST. Prior
commencing work please familiarize yourself with the user manual. Please also
check the completeness of the device.
TIG inverterr PONTIG 3200 DC MOST was designed for DC TIG welding with
Argon shield (steel and stainless steel) or MMA coated electrode welding. VRD
(Voltage Reduction Device) function implemented in device lowers idle voltage
to safe 15 V level during MMA electrode welding. We do believe that this
product will meet your requirements. These are just some special features of
TIG inverter PONTIG 3200 DC MOST:
Control panel –designed in such a way so as switching of parameters is done
quickly and intuitively. The sequence of setpoints for a given function does not
have to be remembered, which facilitates the welding machine operation
substantially.
Device protection - sensors protect correct operation. Thermal sensor prevents
overheating of the device. Power supply protection allows for operation at
supply with current with voltage within the defined limits, in case they are
exceeded, the device will switch itself off to avoid damage.

In accordance with Directive 2012/19 / EU WEEE II (WEEE - Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment), after decommissioning, the device must be recycled by a
specialized company. Do not dispose of worn-out welding equipment with domestic
waste!
Cooling - the device has a smart ventilation system embedded, which
operates in case of welding or exceeding defined inside temperature. This
allows for limiting of the accumulation of dust inside and extends the life of
the device. The user should, however, remember about the harmfulness of
metal powder to electronic subassemblies.
Automatic switch off (support) –the device has the function of switching off
the welding current and power supply of subassemblies, if the device is not in
operation for over 10 minutes. The device gets activated immediately in case
of performance of any activity.

ATTENTION!: The device may not be used for the purpose of pipe
defrosting!
Information contained on the icons placed on the device:
Use and maintenance of welding equipment may be dangerous. The user
must observe health and safety rules and regulations in order to avoid
accidents.
Welding and cutting machines may be used only by qualified personnel.
Keep up to date with the national regulations regarding the device
operation and accident prevention.
Remove all combustible materials from the welding zone before starting
work.
Do not weld in tanks where flammable liquids (fuel) were stored
previously. Place all combustible materials away from welding spatter.
Do not expose the device to rain or water vapour and do not spray water
over it.
Do not weld without proper eye protection. Pay attention for providing
safety for bystanders against welding radiation.
Use ventilation and filters in order to remove welding fumes from the
work site. Use individual filters if the filtering/ventilation system does not
operate correctly or is not available.
Stop your work immediately after finding damage to the power hoses. Do
not touch the damaged hoses. Prior to a repair or maintenance
disconnect the device from power source. Never use the device with
damaged power hoses.
Keep a fire extinguisher close to the welding location. After finishing
welding check work station against fire hazard.
Never try to fix a damaged gas reducer on your own. In case of
malfunction replace the reducer with a fully functional one.

ATTENTION!
The following user manual should be read prior to installing and starting
the device. OSH manual should be known to every welder and
employee responsible for equipment maintenance.
PRELIMINARY COMMENTS
Commissioning and operation are possible only after reading following
manual carefully . Semi-automatic welding requires meeting the
requirements for electric arc welding regulations and complying with fire
regulations.
The operator of a welding device should be supplied with protective
clothing and equipment in accordance with valid regulations. It is
necessary to use a set of personal protective equipment in accordance
with the provisions of the Council Directive 89/686/EEC.
Personal protective equipment includes: welding mask, welding gloves,
welding clothes, leather shoes. Despite the high technical standard of the
device, the personnel should represent considerable discipline as regards
health and safety requirements to protect themselves against harmful
and health hazardous factors developed from welding technology.
OPERATING CONDITIONS
This device can operate under severe conditions. It is, however, important
to apply simple preventive measures to ensure long life and reliable work,
among others:
−do not place or use this device on an inclined surface (of more than
15º),
−do not use the device for pipe defrosting,
−the device needs to be located in a place with free air circulation (to
and from the fan without obstacles). When connected to electrical network
the device must not be covered (with, for example, paper or cloth).
−minimize the amount of dirt and dust that can get into the device,
−device has an IP23S housing protection rating, keep it dry and not
locate on wet surfaces or in a puddle.
−do not use the device for welding tanks previously used for flammable
substances storing.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Range of air temperatures at:
−work from -10ºC to +40ºC
−storage and transportation from -25ºC to +55ºC

−Air relative humidity: up to 50% at +40ºC; to 90% at +20ºC.
GASES AND FUMES
Using TIG and MMA welding techniques produces harmful gases and
fumes containing ozone and hydrogen as well as oxides or metal
particles. Therefore, the welding work station should be fitted with very
good ventilation (dust and smoke extraction or airy location) Metal
surfaces intended for welding should be free of chemical contamination,
especially degreasers (solvents) that decompose during welding process
and produce toxic gases. Welding of galvanized, cadmium-coated or
chromium-plated parts is permitted only when a suction and filtering
device is fitted, and with introduction of fresh air to the welding work
station.
RADIATION
Ultraviolet emission radiated when welding is harmful to eyesight and
skin. Therefore a welding mask with protective filters is required.
Welding work station should meet certain requirements and include:
•adequate lighting system,
•fixed or movable protection screens, governing bystanders
against radiation effects (depending on requirements),
•location with wall colour providing appropriate for radiation
absorption.
FIRE PROTECTION
Welding work station should be located at a safe distance from flammable
materials placed especially on the floor or walls. All flammable materials
need fire protection against hot metal drops. It is recommended to fit the
work station with fire blankets and fire extinguishers e.g. powder or snow
type.
PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK
It is unacceptable to connect the device to an improper installation or to
an installation with unverified zeroing efficiency. It is prohibited to use of
device with shields removed or remove the external shields while the
device is connected to electric network. It is not allowed to work on a
suspended device (e.g. using a crane or a gantry). Maintenance and
repair works should be performed in compliance with the safety conditions
applicable to renovation equipment.
3. Maintenance
ATTENTION: In order to carry out any repair or maintenance activity, it is
recommended to contact your nearest technical support of RYWAL-RHC.

In the event of noticing any damage, the welder should stop
working, disconnect the device from power supply and report it to
direct supervisor or appropriate service - RYWAL-RHC technical
support.
General maintenance (daily)
- check the condition of cables and connections, replace if necessary,
- remove spatter from the gas nozzle of the welding torch, spatter may
transfer with the shielding gas to the welding arc,
- check condition of welding torch, replace if necessary,
- check condition and operation of the cooling fan; keep the cooling air
inlet and outlet openings clean,
- keep the device clean.
Periodic maintenance (every 3 months at least)
Periodic maintenance frequency can be increased depending on the
environment in which the device is operating.
- using a stream of dry air (at low pressure) remove the dust from the
outer parts of the casing and from inside of the welding device,
- check and tighten all the screws,
- check the state of all electrical contacts and correct if necessary.
ATTENTION: Power supply network must be disconnected from the
device before any maintenance and service work. After each repair,
perform respective check to ensure safe use.
MANDATORY DEVICE CHECKS
According to the Labour Code provisions: "Entire liability for safe use of
machines and devices is incurred by the owner." This results in the
obligation to perform periodic and post-repair checks and inspections of
equipment. The scope of the checks is defined by the standard PN-EN
60974-4. Periodic tests are carried out at least once a year - legal basis
PN-EN ISO 17662 clause 4.3, and post-repair test - after each repair that
restored welding functionality - legal basis: PN-EN 60974-4 clause 4.6. All
above services are performed by the technical support of RYWAL-RHC.
4. Installation and use
•The use is responsible for connecting the TIG inverter in
accordance with the operation manual. In case of occurrence of
electromagnetic disturbance, the user should remedy the cause
thereof, informing the manufacturer, if necessary.
•Prior to the use of the equipment, the welder should estimate
possible impact of disturbance onto the environment, in particular
onto the presence of persons with artificial pacemakers or hearing
aids.

•Work with power generator is admissible but subject to some
requirements. It is recommended to use the power generator with the
power of at least 25kVA, with asynchronous generator. If the power
generator does not provide required power supply, this results in
lowering the electric arc parameters of switching off the rectifier.
Location of TIG inverter
The following rules should be observed:
•Easy access to connections, cables and switches should be
assured.
•The welding machine should not be placed in small, confined
space.
•The welding machine should not be placed on surfaces with
inclination higher than 15 degrees.
Device installation
•Connecting or repair of the device may only be performed by
trained personnel.
•Connection of a few rectifiers (serial or parallel) is forbidden.
•Prior to taking off the device covers, disconnect the rectifier from
power source.
•Necessary cleaning and maintenance activities should be
performed periodically.
•It should be assured that power supply and earthing are sufficient
and appropriate.
•The source protection degree should be checked.

•Prior to welding, the condition of welding cables should be checked.
They should be repaired or replaced, if damaged.
•Use proper welding materials only, do not stand or lean on them.
