General Description. The SMD, TST, and DSD 4.0 series units are identical to the 2.0 series with the
following exceptions:
1) The units support 4 amps of motor current; factory pre-set is 4 amps.
2) The units may require additional cooling or mounting of the system to a larger metal
surface if bottom lid or motor is too hot to touch (75OC). See Appendix C.
3) The units support Full, Half, Quad (factory pre-set), and Octal step.
4) The units are Auto-Parktm; park power is pre-set to 50% of the current adjustment
dial. Ignore references to the PARK signal in manual.
Current and Step Angle Setting. To remove the lid (bottom) and access the amplifier card which is
mounted to the lid:
1) Remove the 10 each hex-head screws.
2) Carefully lift and fold lid to label side of box so as not to disturb the wiring harness.
3) Adjust the blue pot, located on the card edge, to the desired output current as
required; pot is normally set to 4.0 amps.
Select the two jumper blocks (pins) for the desired step angle per the table.

JUMP OPEN 1/2 STEP (best for high inertia loads)
JUMP JUMP 1/1 STEP (best for full speed and full power)
