IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
DO NOT operate unit or place this product near flammable materials or use in any
location where flammable fumes may accumulate.
Light is very powerful. DO NOT shine into the eyes of humans or animals.
Unit is not waterproof. DO NOT use under water or immerse in water.
DO NOT recharge the PowerStation with any other adaptors than those supplied with
the unit.
DO NOT operate the EZ Start™ while charging. This will permanently damage the unit.
This item is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.

DO NOT expose battery to fire or intense heat as it may explode.
DO NOT place the battery on or near fires, stoves, or other high temperature locations.
DO NOT subject the battery pack to strong impacts or shocks.
DO NOT expose the battery to water, salt water, or allow the battery to get wet.
DO NOT disassemble or modify the battery. The battery contains safety and
protection devices which, if damaged, may cause the battery to generate heat, rupture or
ignite.
DO NOT leave the battery in direct sunlight, or use or store the battery inside cars in hot
weather. Doing so may cause the battery to generate heat, rupture, or ignite.
Battery must be recycled or disposed of properly.
Never short circuit, reverse polarity, disassemble, damage or heat the battery pack to
over 100 C (212F). If an exposed lithium battery does start on fire, it will burn even more
violently if it comes into contact with water or moisture in the air.
DO NOT THROW WATER ON A BURNING LI-ION BATTERY!
A fire extinguisher must be used.

product as it contains the information you need to become familiar with its features and

EZ Start™ LITHIUM-ION IN-CAR STARTER IS SHIPPED FULLY
CHARGED. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU CHECK THE
BATTERY STATUS AND IF NECESSARY RECHARGE THE UNIT AS
PER THE CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS.

CHARGING WITH AC ADAPTOR
IMPORTANT: The EZ Start™ comes equipped with low voltage protection and will not
operate below 12.5V. Immediately recharge the EZ Start™ with all accessories turned off.
NOTE: EZ Start™ Lithium-ion Car Starter comes equipped with a master power locking pin
and must be removed prior to charging. The master locking pin can be stored on the back of
the EZ Start™.
Ensure all switches are in the off position prior to charging. Do not operate any of the
accessories while charging; this could permanently damage the unit.
1. Plug the AC adaptor cord into any 110 Volt AC wall outlet first, and then into the input
charging jack on the front of the unit.
2. Flip the Mode switch down to the charge position “=”. The LED indicator light will
illuminate red if the EZ Start™ is below 13V, and orange if it is between 13 –16.5V, both
red and orange indicate the unit is charging.
If LED indicator light flashes red, the unit is not charging. Turn off unit and repeat steps 1
and 2. If LED light continues to flash, replace the AC charger.
3. EZ Start™ will take approximately 6 –8 hours to charge.
4. The LED indicator light will illuminate green when the EZ Start™ is fully charged, 16.5V.
NOTE: EZ Start™ is supplied with an AC switching adaptor. The switching adaptor prevents
the battery from being overcharged by cutting power to the unit once it is fully charged.
CHARGING WITH DC PLUG
1. Ensure the engine is running.
2. Insert the 12V power plug on the EZ Start™ into the vehicle’s accessory outlet.
3. Flip the Mode switch down to the charge position “=”. The LED indicator light will
illuminate red if the EZ Start™ is below 13V, and orange if it is between 13 –16.5V, both
red and orange indicate the unit is charging.
Charging the EZ Start™ from the cars 12V power plug will only partially charge the unit. To
fully charge, it is recommended to use the AC Adaptor supplied.
NOTE: NEVER leave vehicle running in an enclosed or poorly ventilated space.
Do not leave EZ Start™ plugged into the 12V accessory outlet when the vehicle is not running as it
may drain the battery in your car.
CHARGING TIPS AND WARNINGS
Keep battery power topped up, ready for emergencies. Unlike some rechargeable batteries,
frequent charging will not harm and in fact, will improve the performance of the internal battery.
Recharge battery as soon as possible after each use to prolong battery life. Frequent heavy drains
between recharging will reduce battery life. Do not leave EZ Start™ in a total drained state for an
extended period of time as this can cause battery failure.
Store in a cool dry place.
Recharge every 3 months when not in use and more frequently in warmer or colder storage
conditions.
DO NOT OPERATE ANY OF THIS UNITS FUNCTIONS WHILE CHARGING IS IN PROCESS.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - HOW TO BOOST YOUR CAR BATTERY
Important Notes:
• EZ Start™ comes equipped with a master power locking pin and must be removed prior to
using. The master locking pin can be stored on the back of the EZ Start™.
• Before attempting to start vehicle, the EZ Start™ must be removed from the vehicle’s 12V
accessory outlet.
• EZ Start™ is designed for use on gasoline engines only with 12V batteries. DO NOT use on
diesel engines.

HOW TO CHECK IF EZ START™ IS READY FOR BOOSTING YOUR CAR BATTERY
1. Remove the red locking pin located on the front and store on the back of the EZ Start™.
2. Make sure all vehicle lights (interior and exterior) and accessories (radio, etc) are turned off.
3. Make sure the AC charger is unplugged and disconnected from the unit.
4. Make sure the vehicle’s 12V accessory outlet is clean and free of debris.
5. Make sure to remove any devices from the 12V Power Socket and/or USB outlets.
6. Flip the Mode switch down to the Charge position “=”. The digital battery voltage meter will
illuminate and display the current voltage of the EZ Start™. If the EZ Start™ digital battery voltage
meter shows a reading of 15V or higher, the EZ Start™ is ready to charge the vehicle’s battery.
7. Flip the Mode switch to the off “O” position.
NOTE: If the digital battery voltage meter shows a reading below 15V, the EZ Start™ is not
suitable to start the vehicle. Recharge the EZ Start™ immediately with the supplied AC Adaptor.
HOW TO BOOST YOUR CAR BATTERY
1. Insert the 12 volt power plug into the vehicles accessory outlet.
2. Press the mode switch up to the car icon position.
3. LED indicator light on 12 volt plug will illuminate GREEN to confirm connection, (some vehicles
may require the ignition to be in the accessory position).
4. The EZ Start™ digital meter will display the vehicles current battery status in volts.
5. The EZ Start™ should remain plugged into the vehicles accessory outlet for a minimum of 15
minutes OR until the digital display has a reading of 12 volts or higher.
NOTE: Do NOT disconnect the EZ Start™ during boosting until the digital meter has a
reading of 12 volts or higher. Boosting process may not resume if the unit’s battery is
partially drained.
6. Before attempting to start your car, remove the EZ Start™ from the accessory outlet and turn off
all lights and accessories.
7. If the vehicle does not start after two attempts, call a service centre or tow truck.
NOTE: Leaving the EZ Start™ plugged in for an extended period of time will not harm the
vehicles battery. Once the unit has discharged all power, it will shut down.
EZ Start™ Accessories
CHARGING YOUR PORTABLE ELECTRONICS
The EZ Start™ is equipped with two USB power ports. The combined output is 3.1A, regardless if
using one or two ports at the same time. To operate the USB port, plug adapter in, connect device
and flip the accessory mode switch down to the USB “ ” ON position.
Note: when using the USB’s, no other accessory functions will operate, including the LED light,
rear LED flasher or the 12V outlet, this is to prevent interference to the USB outlet’s.
OPERATING LED LIGHT
The EZ Start™ is equipped with an LED work light built in to the front of the unit to provide
illumination of the work area for night time repairs or emergency light in case of a power failure.
These lights operate using the rocker switch located on top of the unit. Turn off lights to conserve
battery power when not required. LED lights are not replaceable, however they will provide many
hours of operation under normal working conditions. To operate the LED lights you must first flip
the accessory mode switch to the “O”OFF position. To turn the lights on, push the LED light switch
to the “I” ON position. To turn off, push the LED light switch to the “O” OFF position.
OPERATING REAR LED FLASHER
The EZ Start™ is equipped with a flashing 8 LED safety light built in to the back of the unit to
provide a warning signal in the event of an emergency. To operate the rear flashing safety lights
you must first flip the accessory mode switch to the “O” OFF position. To turn on the rear flashing
safety lights, flip the LED flashing light switch located on the back to the “ ” ON position. To turn
off the rear flashing safety lights, flip the LED flashing light switch located on the back to the “O”
OFF position.

USE AS A 12 VOLT DC PORTABLE POWER SUPPLY
The EZ Start™ is equipped with an outlet socket and can be used to operate most 12 volt auto
accessories and appliances (5 AMP maximum), equipped with a 12V power plug. Simply lift up
cover on socket and plug in appliance. To operate the 12V power outlet socket, flip the 3 position
mode switch up to the “-” ON position. NOTE: socket will be live so appliance will be
instantaneously powered. Length of time appliance will operate will depend on condition of battery
and current draw of appliance. Periodically check battery status during operation and discontinue
use immediately if battery condition falls to 12.5V or lower. Recharge unit as soon as possible and
before further use.
DO NOT PLUG A CIGARETTE LIGHTER INTO THE OUTLET OF THE EZ Start™
CARE & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
All batteries lose charge with time. AC recharge is recommended after each use or every 3 months
when not in frequent use. Use the AC charger and charge for the recommended time.
If the unit gets dirty, gently clean the outer surfaces with a soft cloth moistened with a mild solution
of water and detergent. Do not use solvents or other chemical cleaners.
Periodically inspect the condition of charging adapters, connectors, and wires. Replace any
components that may have become worn or broken. These parts are not serviceable. Do not open
or disassemble. Service on EZ Start™ is confined to replaceable parts only. All other servicing
should be performed by a qualified service technician only.
MOVING AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Always flip the accessory mode switch to the “O” OFF position when not in use and insert the
master locking pin.
Store in a cool, dry place.
Fuse Replacement - 12 volt adapter plug
This 12 volt plug is fitted with a 8A fuse in the tip. Should the fuse need replacing, unscrew end cap
and replace with a new 8A fuse.

BATTERY
The EZ Start™ is equipped with a 16.8 volt 2.2 Amp-hour lithium-ion battery which should last the
service life of the unit.
Batteries should be disposed of properly and safely.
Contact your local waste authority for recycling information.
WARNING! EXPLOSION HAZARD
DO NOT EXPOSE BATTERY TO FIRE OR INTENSE HEAT AS IT MAY EXPLODE.
IF CASE SHOULD BECOME CRACKED, DISPOSE OF IMMEDIATELY TAKING ADEQUATE
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR
PROPERTY.

Limited Warranty
Superex warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in material or
workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not extend to
subsequent purchasers or users.
Superex will, during the warranty period, repair or replace the product free of charge. A defective
unit may be replaced with a new or reconditioned unit of same or similar design. Superex will, at
its option, use new or reconditioned parts in performing warranty repairs.
This product is not intended for commercial use and, if so used, will immediately void the
warranty.
Superex Canada Ltd. assumes no obligation to pay the consumer a cash refund. This Warranty
does not cover the failure of, or damage to the product that results from accident, alteration,
abuse, misuse, neglect, normal wear and tear (e.g. scratches, chips, dents or discoloration) or
failure to follow operating instructions, nor does this Warranty cover damage caused by the use of
any attachment not originally equipped with this product.

and service, or repair, or for any incidental or consequential damages arising out of this
expressed Warranty, or any implied Warranty, even though it may be caused by negligence or
other fault on the part of the Distributor or others. The implied Warranties on this product shall be
in effect only for the duration of the expressed Warranties, either expressed or implied. Local laws
may vary respecting the limitation on incidental, consequential or other damages, or the length of
implied Warranties, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

In order to qualify for the warranty, a dated proof of purchase must be provided. If your product
requires service within 30 days of purchase, please return it along with your original dated sales

TO RETURN THE PRODUCT:
You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA) and a shipping address
from Superex prior to returning the product. Please be prepared to provide the Customer Service
Agent with your name, address, phone number, model number and a brief description of the
problem.
Safely package the unit, preferably in its original packing and box, along with a copy of your dated
proof of purchase and a short note with your name, address, phone number and a brief
description of the problem. Ship the unit PREPAID to the address supplied to you. Do not include
any accessories (e.g. cables) with your unit. Make sure to clearly mark the RMA number on the
outside of the shipping carton.
Superex will examine your unit and at its option, either repair or replace the unit. In either case,
the unit will be returned to you freight prepaid within 4 weeks of receipt.
