fromthesocket. Makesureto
raisetheleverup toa90-
degree angle.
3.Lookforthe gold arrowon the
CPU. Thegoldarrowshould
pointasshownin thepicture.
The CPUcanonlyfitinthe
correctorientation.
4.IftheCPUiscorrectlyinstalled,
thepinsshouldbecompletely
embeddedintothesocketand
cannotbeseen.Pleasenote
thatanyviolation of thecorrect
installationproceduresmay
causepermanentdamagesto
yourmainboard.
5. PresstheCPUdownfirmlyinto
thesocketand closethelever.
AstheCPUislikelytomove
whiletheleverisbeing closed,
alwaysclosethe leverwith
yourfingerspressing tightlyon
topof theCPUtomakesure
the CPUisproperlyand
completelyembeddedintothe
socket.

Installing AMDAthlon64 CPUCoolerSet
When you areinstalling theCPU, make suretheCPUhas aheatsink
andacoolingfanattachedon thetopto preventoverheating. If you do not
havetheheatsinkandcooling fan,contactyourdealertopurchaseand install
thembeforeturningonthecomputer.

Memory
The mainboardprovides2slotsfor184-pinDDRDIMM(Double In-Line Memory
Module)modulesandsupportsthe memorysizeupto2GB.You caninstall DDR333/
400moduleson the DDRDIMMslots(DIMM1~2).
Memory Population Rules
InstallatleastoneDIMM module ontheslots. EachDIMMslot supportsup toa
maximumsizeof1GB.Userscan install eithersingle-ordouble-sidedmodulesto
meettheirownneeds.

1.Makesurethatyou install memorymodulesof thesametypeand
density on DDRDIMMs.
2.Forsystemsusing double-sidedDDR400 modulesinsingle-chan-
nelmode,themaximumDRAMspeed isDDR333.
InstallingDDRModules
1.TheDDRDIMMhasonlyonenotchonthecenterofmodule.The modulewill only
fit in therightorientation.
2.Insert theDIMMmemorymoduleverticallyintotheDIMMslot.Then pushit inuntil
thegoldenfingeronthememorymoduleisdeeplyinsertedin thesocket.
3.Theplasticclip ateachsideof theDIMM slotwillautomaticallyclose.

thisissuemostlyhappenswhileusersintensivelyswap memorymodulesunderS5
(power-off)states,andthepowercode ispluggedwhileinstalling modules.Due to
several pinsareverysensitivetoESD,sothiskind ofmemory-replacementactions
mightcausechipsetsystemunable toboot. Pleasefollowthe followingsolutionto
avoid thissituation.
