CPU&Cooler Installation
Whenyou areinstalling theCPU, make suretheCPUhas acoolerat-
tachedon thetop topreventoverheating. If youdonothavethecooler,contact
yourdealertopurchaseand install thembeforeturningonthecomputer.Meanwhile,
donotforgettoapplysomesiliconheat transfercompound onCPUbeforeinstalling
the heatsink/coolerfanforbetterheatdispersion.
FollowthestepsbelowtoinstalltheCPU&coolercorrectly.Wrong installation
will causethedamageof yourCPU&mainboard.
1.TheCPUhasalandsidecoveronthe
bottomtoprotecttheCPUcontactfrom
damage.Rotateittomakethepin1
indicator(yellowtriangle)intheright-
bottomcorner.
2.Takeouttheaccompanying CPUClip
androtateitforthesamedirection
asthe CPU(Pin1indicatorisinthe
left-bottomcorner).

gerstopushtheclipstoreleasethe
CPU,thenpressdowntheCPUwith
yourindexfingertoallowthewhole
module tobe installedontotheCPU
socket.

tiontab.
11.Visuallyinspectif theCPUisseated
wellintothesocket, thenremovethe
CPUClip with2fingers.Thencover
theloadplateontothepackage.
13.Positionthemainboardintothechas-
sisandusethe retainingscrewsto
secureitintothe place.Thenalign
the holesonthe mainboardandchas-
siswiththe cooler.

retaining screwsof the coolertose-
cureitintotheplace.Makesurethe
coolerisintheproperorientation,the
coolerwill onlyfitin the right
orientation.(Pleasereferthepictures

IntroductiontoDDR SDRAM

ratebytransferring datatwicepercycle.It uses2.5voltsasopposedto3.3volts
used inSDR SDRAM, andrequires184-pinDIMMmodulesratherthan168-pin DIMM
modulesused bySDRSDRAM.

1. The DDRDIMM hasonlyonenotchon thecenterof module.Themodule will
onlyfitin therightorientation.
2. Insertthe DIMMmemorymoduleverticallyintotheDIMMslot.Thenpushitin
until thegoldenfingeronthememorymodule isdeeplyinsertedinthesocket.
3. Theplasticclip ateachsideof theDIMM slotwill automaticallyclose.

serted inthe socket.

aligned.Then pushdownthe powersupplyfirmlyintotheconnector.
You mayusethe 20-pinATXpowersupplyasyoulike.If
you’dliketousethe 20-pinATXpowersupply,pleaseplugyour
powersupplyalongwithpin 1&pin 13 (refertotheimageatthe
righthand). Thereisalsoafoolproofdesign on pin 11,12, 23 &24
toavoid wrong installation.
