• Remove all plastic bags and packaging material from the appliance and
dispose of appropriately to keep out of reach of children.
• Be careful when handling the blade as it is extremely sharp.
• Wash the Bowl, Lid, and S-blade in warm soapy water with a soft cloth. Rinse
and dry thoroughly. These parts may also be washed in the dishwasher, top
rack only (keep the temperature below 140°F/60°C).
• Always use the Food Chopper on a dry, level work surface.
• When first using your Food Chopper, you may notice an odor coming from the
motor. This is normal and will dissipate with use.
WARNING: The blades on this appliance are extremely sharp. Handle
carefully.
FOOD PREPARATION
• Do not process food containing hard objects, such as meat containing
bones or fruits with large hard stones, which cannot be safely broken up.
Remove bones from meat, stones from fruit, etc. Peel, core, and/or remove
seeds and pits.
• Food should be cut into small, even pieces. Foods cut into same-sized
pieces produce the most even results.
NOTE: This appliance is not suitable for:
• Chopping hard items such as ice cubes or frozen produce.
• Grinding coffee beans or converting granulated sugar to caster sugar.

ASSEMBLY AND USE
Make sure the Food Chopper is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
Place the Base on a flat, level, stable surface.

for at least one minute before resuming.
Wait until the Blade has completely stopped running before removing

CARE AND CLEANING
Before cleaning, make sure to remove the power cord from the power outlet.
Base
• Base, Pulse Buttons, and non-slip rubber feet may be wiped with a damp
cloth. Dry thoroughly.
• Wipe any excess food particles from the power cord.
• Stubborn spots can be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth and a mild,
non-abrasive cleaner.
CAUTION: Do not immerse the Base or the power cord in water or any
other liquid.
Removable Parts (Lid, S-Blade, Bowl)
• To make cleaning easier, rinse the removable parts immediately after use to
prevent food particles from drying.
• Hand wash in warm, soapy water using a mild liquid detergent.
• DO NOT use metal or other abrasive cleaning tools or cleansers on any plas-
tic or metal parts. Use only warm soapy water and remove stubborn residue
with a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad or nylon brush.
• All removable parts may occasionally be washed in the dishwasher (top rack
only with the temperature kept below 140°F/60°C), however, washing in the
dishwasher is not recommended on a regular basis, as prolonged exposure to
harsh detergents, hot water, and pressure will damage and shorten the life of
the plastic and the interlock components.
• Blade is extremely sharp; handle carefully. Always use a spatula or brush to
remove food from the blade. If you wash the blade by hand, do so carefully.
• Always allow all parts to dry completely before assembling and using the
appliance again.

9
Stubborn Food Stains and Odors
Strong smelling foods such as garlic, fish, and some vegetables such as
carrots may leave an odor or stain the Bowl or the Lid. To remove them, make
a paste of 1 tablespoon baking soda and 2 tablespoons warm water. Apply
the paste to the stains and rub with a soft cloth. Rinse in soapy water and dry
thoroughly.
STORAGE
• Store your Food Chopper upright, with the Bowl and Lid resting in position
but not locked. Locking the Bowl and Lid can put unnecessary strain on the
safety interlock.
• Handle and store the blade carefully. Its cutting edges are very sharp.
• All accessories should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children.
• Protect the appliance, its power cord, and power plug from dust, direct sun-
light, dripping, and splashing water.
