INSTALLATION
The TRITON-2 liquid nitrogen generator is an air-cooled system via a
built in closed loop water chiller, and therefore expels some warm air
from the rear of the enclosure. To enable the generator to work
efficiently the ambient temperature should not exceed +32°c, the
generator will go into a temperature alarm if the ambient
temperature becomes too high for the system to operate.
Note: Triton-2 production can be adversely affected by temperature
and it is recommended that the ambient temperature around the
machine be fixed to 20°c if possible.
Locate TRITON-2 on a flat and hard surface close to an electrical supply
outlet. Allow a space of at least 150mm at the rear of the generator to
prevent overheating

CHECKS PRIOR TO START-UP
Water level
The TRITON-2 water chiller should arrive with an adequate volume of
water inside the chiller. Check the level at the rear of the generator is
shown in the GREEN
If the water level is low then fill using tap water using the water fill
port on the left hand panel of the generator as shown below:-

THE FUNNEL UNTIL THE LEVEL IS WITHIN
THE GREEN SECTION – DO NOT OVER

OPERATION
TRITON-2 is an automatic system which once turned on does not
require any user intervention. When the switch on at the rear of the
enclosure the generator is in RUN and will start to produce liquid
nitrogen.
On the front of the generator are 2 LED’s, a level display and 1 push
button, as described below:-
When ‘System Status’ LED is GREEN the LN2 can be dispensed using
the push button.

DISPENSING
In order to dispense liquid nitrogen the SYSTEM STATUS LED must be
GREEN. If the LED is RED there is insufficient storage of liquid
nitrogen (<10% volume) – you must wait for the storage to refill.
WARNING – Liquid nitrogen is extremely hazardous and can cause
severe frost bite, all safety precautions must be taken prior to using
the equipment. The use of cryogenic safety gloves, goggles or visor
must be worn – these can be purchased from Us.
The CRYO-CASE contains – Visor, Gloves, Apron and Footwear
protection

DISPENSING cont.
With the safety precautions taken, place a suitable cryogenic flask or
container inside the holder on the front of the generator and close
the clear Perspex door.
Cryogenic flask
A safety dispense valve has been fitted as below, then follow the
instructions as shown on the front of the generator:-

Note: The Dispense system will only operate when the STATUS LED is
illuminated Green.
Once dispensing is complete close the manual dispense valve
STATUS GREEN (>10% VOLUME)
PRESS AND HOLD THE DISPENSE
BUTTON / RELEASE TO STOP –
CHECK LEVEL AND FILL AS
REQUIRED

OPTIONAL HOSE DISPENSE
To fill larger sized cryogenic containers and dewars it is possible to
connect a dispense hose to the generator.
Open the Perspex dispense door and locate the sintered diffuser on
the top of the dispense chamber as shown. Using a spanner gently
release and the remove the diffuser, replace with a suitable
cryogenic hose – connection ½” BSP F.
Sintered diffuser Remove as shown
(Connect suitable hose)
With the hose in place and the STATUS LED GREEN – open the
manual dispense valve, push and hold the DISPENSE button to
dispense the Liquid Nitrogen, release the button to STOP. When
complete , close the manual valve.

MAINTENANCE
