INSTRUCTIONS FOR MYSTAR SYLKFEEL® LANCING DEVICE
The MyStar SylkFeel® lancing device is a medical tool for collecting
capillary blood samples for glucose monitoring or other tests which
require one or two small drops of blood.
The MyStar SylkFeel® lancing device is used to get samples of blood
for testing using a lancet. The lancing device has a spring driven
mechanism to enable an automated lancing process which is released
using a spring-loaded trigger button.
The lancing device can be set to puncture the skin at 5 dierent levels.
In addition, the MyStar SylkFeel® also may come with a transparent
cap for Alternative Site Testing (AST), check your blood glucose meter
instructions if AST is allowed.
PRECAUTIONS
• TheMyStarSylkFeel®mustnotbeshared,itisforindividualuseonly.
• Alwaysuseanewlancet,whichmustonlybeplacedintothelancing
device directly before testing.
• Discardthelancetaftertestinganddonotleavethelancetinthe
device after use.
• Cleanthecapafterusingit.
• Alwaysdisposeoftheusedlancetinasafeway,e.g.inapuncture
resistant container, according to local regulations.
• Keepoutofreachofchildren.Thisdevicehasmanysmallpartsand
could be a choking hazard for children if swallowed.
El dispositivo de punción MyStar SylkFeel® es una herramienta de
uso médico de recogida de muestras de sangre capilar para la
monitorización de los niveles de glucosa u otros análisis que requieran
una o dos gotas de sangre.
El dispositivo de punción MyStar SylkFeel® se utiliza para obtener
muestras de sangre para analizarla utilizando una lanceta.
El dispositivo utiliza un mecanismo que impulsa la lanceta hacia fuera
permitiendo un proceso de punción automatizado. El proceso se
desencadena presionando el botón de disparo.
El dispositivo de punción permite establecer 5 niveles distintos de
punción en la piel.
Además, el dispositivo de punción MyStar SylkFeel® también puede
presentarse con un tapón transparente para los Análisis en Áreas
Alternativas (AAA). Revise las instrucciones de su medidor de glucosa
en sangre para vericar si se permiten los AAA.

es de uso individual únicamente.
• Siempreutiliceunalancetanuevalacualdebecolocarseenel
dispositivo de punción justo antes de realizarse el análisis.

HOW TO USE MYSTAR SYLKFEEL®
Wash your hands carefully with soap and warm water to increase the
circulation of the blood into the ngers. Rinse and thoroughly dry your
hands.
• Makesurethereisnogrease,oilorlotiononthengertipyouare
going to use.
• Keepyourhandwarmorgentlymassagethesiteyouarelancingto
help your blood ow.
Please read the following steps and view the corresponding illustrations
tounderstandhowtousetheMyStarSylkFeel®.Forproperhandlingof
the lancets please check the instruction that came with the lancet.
MODO DE EMPLEO DEL DISPOSITIVO DE PUNCIÓN MYSTAR SYLKFEEL®
Lávese cuidadosamente las manos con jabón y agua tibia para incrementar
la circulación de la sangre en sus dedos. Enjuague y seque sus manos.
• Asegúresequenohaygrasas,aceitesolocionesenlayemadeldedo
que vaya a usar.
• Mantengasumanocalienteomasajeesuavementelazonadondeva

CLEANING
NeverputthebodyoftheMyStarSylkFeel®inwateroranyotherliquid
solution.CleantheoutsideoftheMyStarSylkFeel®usingadampcloth
with mild cleaning uid or mild soap. To clean the adjustable cap and
the AST clear cap, take the cap o, wash it in warm water, rinse well and
dry.
STORAGE
Products must be stored at room temperature protected from sunlight
or moisture.

en agua ni en cualquier otro líquido. Limpie el exterior del dispositivo
depunciónMyStarSylkFeel®conunpañohúmedoconunproductode
limpieza suave o jabón suave. Para limpiar el tapón ajustable y el tapón
AAA, retire el tapón, lávelo con agua tibia, enjuague bien y séquelo.
ALMACENAJE
Los productos se deben guardar a temperatura ambiente protegidos

1. Removing the cap: Twist the cap o the lancing
device by turning it counter-clockwise while holding the
base rmly.

2. Load a new sterile lancet directly into the bottom of lancet
carrier.
Note: In case you accidently cock the device at this point,
press the release button before you move on

3. While holding the lancet rmly, remove the lancet cap;
be careful not to touch the lancet tip. 3.Mientrassujetelalancetarmemente,retireeltapóndela lanceta, vigile no tocar la punta de la

4. Put the cap of the lancing device back on and turn it
clockwise until it is fully into place. 4. Coloque nuevamente el tapón de dispositivo de punción y gírelo en sentido de las agujas del reloj hasta que esté
completamente en su sitio.
5. The lancing device can be set to the sensitivity of your skin.
You can adjust the tip to 5 dierent lancing depths.
Twist the cap end in the appropriate direction until the arrow
is pointing to the number for the lancing depth you want.
1–2 for soft or thin skin,
3 for average skin,
4–5 for thick or calloused skin.

sensibilidad de su piel. Puede ajustar el extremo a
5 profundidades de punción diferentes. Gire el extremo del
tapón en la dirección correcta hasta que la echa apunte

6. Hold the cap rmly in one hand then pull out the sliding
barrel with the other hand until it clicks into place. This will
cock the lancing device.
Note: Donotlanceyourngerbeforethemeterandtest
strips are ready to use.

nger the deeper the puncture). Press the release button to
get a blood sample.

8. Removing the cap: Twist the cap o the lancing
device by turning it counterclockwise while holding the base
rmly.

9. Consulte las instrucciones de la lanceta para ver cómo colocar

deslizante para disponer de la lanceta usada de una manera
segura, ej: directamente en un embase resistente a punciones
y deposítelo en el punto verde más cercano de acuerdo con las
autoridades reguladoras locales.
Nota: En caso de que la lanceta no se desprenda, tire
cuidadosamente del cuerpo de la lanceta hacia fuera del
contenedor de la misma.
9. Check the lancet instructions on how to re-cap the lancet.
Push the lancet ejector forward with the thumb and
simultaneously pull out the sliding barrel to dispose of the
used lancet in a safe way, e.g. directly in a puncture resistant
container, according to local regulations.
Note: In case the lancet does not fall out, carefully pull the
lancet body out of the lancet holder.
2. Watch through the clear cap until a sucient blood sample is

1. Place the MyStar SylkFeel® on the skin in the chosen area,
press and hold the MyStar SylkFeel® continuously for a few
seconds, then push the release button to take a sample.
