SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
General
1. This machine can cause serious injuries. Read the instrucons carefully for the correct handling, preparaons, maintenance, starng and stopping of the
machine. Be familiar with all controls and the proper use of the machine.
2. Keep this manual for future reference. In cases you have any quesons which cannot be answered herein, contact an authorised sales point.
3. Never allow children or anyone unable to fully understand the instrucons given in the manual to use the machine.
Personal safety
1. When using the product, you should wear proper clothing and protecve equipment (helmet, ear protectors, protecon goggles or face shield, thick work
gloves, non-slip work boots).
2. Do not wear loose clothing, jewelry, short trousers, sandals, or go barefoot. Do not wear anything that might be caught by a moving part of the unit. Secure
hair above shoulder length.
3. Always work with care, and stay alert. Never use the product when under the inuence of medicaon, alcohol or other substances, when suering from
exhauson, drowsiness or lack of sleep, or at any other me when a possibility exists that your judgment might be impaired or that you might not be able to
operate the product properly and in a safe manner.
Workplace safety
1. Never start the engine inside a closed room or building. Exhaust gases contain dangerous carbon monoxide.
2. Never use the product when the ground is slippery or when you cannot maintain a steady posture.
3. Never use the product at night, at mes of heavy fog, or at any other mes when your eld of vision might be limited and it would be dicult to gain a clear
view of the working area.
4. Never use the product during a thunderstorm, lightning storm, high or gale force winds or any other me when weather condions may make it unsafe to
use the product.
5. The working area must be free from materials that are easily ammable or explosive.
7. Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert for possible harzards that you may not hear due to the noise of the machine.
6. Always comply with applicable naonal and internaonal safety, health and work regulaons.
Before starng the engine
1. Make sure that no persons or animals are within your work area when you start working.
2. Make sure there are no obstacles in your work area.
3. Make sure that your machine has been fully and properly assembled.
4. Do not operate the machine unless you did not nd any faults on checking. If a part has become defecve, make sure to replace it before you use the machine
again.
5. Check that the machine works properly and make sure, in parcular, that the chain rail or hedge trimmer head sits ghtly and properly, and that the On/O
switch works properly. Do not operate the machine with a damaged or extensively worn cung device. The machine may not be used unless it is undamaged
and funcons properly. If the equipment or parts of it have become defecve, have it repaired by a specialised technician.
6. The machine will vibrate during operaon. This can cause its screws and other parts to loosen. Check that all screws and accessories are ght.
7. Do not overload the machine. Use the machine only for its intended purpose.
During operaon
WARNING! Only cut materials recommended by the manufacturer. Use only for tasks described in the manual.
1. Keep bystanders and animals at least 15m away from the operang point. If you are approached, immediately stop the engine. Avoid operang while people,
especially children are nearby.
2. Grip the handles rmly with both hands using your whole hand.
3. Assume a rm standing posion during operaon:
• Make sure you cannot slip or fall over.
• Do not stretch your arms too far in front of you.
• Do not work above shoulder level.
4. Aer starng the engine, check that the cung aachment stops rotang when the throle is fully returned to its starng posion. If it connues to rotate
when the throle is fully returned, stop the engine and contact an authorised service center.
5. If the unit starts to shake or vibrate, turn o the engine and check the whole unit. Do not use it unl the problem has been properly corrected.
6. Keep all parts of your body away from rotang cung aachments and hot surfaces.
7. Never touch the muer, spark plug, or other metallic parts of the engine while the engine is in operaon or immediately aer shung down the engine.
Doing so could result in serious burns or electrical shock.
8. While the engine is hot, keep the machine away from anything ammable, such as dry grass, debris, leaves or excessive lubricant.
9. Make sure that the engine is switched o before seng down the machine.
10. Never work alone. Make sure you are within shoung distance or have visual or other contact with another person who can give rst aid in an emergency.
11. Never operate the pruner at an angle greater than 60° in order to reduce the risk of being struck by falling objects during operaon.
