1.1 Introducon
Thank you for purchasing the NantLife Smart Body Scale.
Weight and BMI
Four load cells measure weight. BMI is calculated and displayed
based on weight.
Body composion
The scale measures body mass using bioimpedance analysis. ITO
electrodes form a paern on the top of the scale, and send a small,
safe signal through the body to measure impedance.
The NantLife Smart Body Scale comes with the following compo-
nents:

1.2 Intended Use
• This device is intended for use in measuring body weight and
body mass index by people above 12 years old to geriatric in the
home.
Under eighteen (18) years of age, use with adult supervision.
• The Smart Body Scale is not intended to be a diagnosc device.
• Never change your medicaon on the basis of results you have
obtained. The evaluaon of the measurements and the
treatment may only be carried out by the treang physician.
• The Blood Pressure Monitor comes with carpet feet adaptors.
Make sure to add them to the exisng feet is you are using the
Body Scale on a carpeted oor.
• Do not let infants or person who cannot express
their intenon use the Body Scale.
1.3 Safety Informaon
1.3.1 Operang the Device
To assure the correct use of the monitor, always follow the warnings
and cauons lied in this instrucon manual.
1.3.1.1 Warnings
Read all of the informaon in the instrucon manual and any other
instrucon in the box before operang the unit.
If you experience discomfort during a measurement- Step out of
the Body Scale .

in addion, please note:
• To produce precise readings, the device should be placed on a
hard and leveled surface.
• Do not under any circumstances use the device in the bath or
the shower. If, however, liquid gets into the device, you must
remove the baeries immediately and refrain from further
use. Contact our service department (see page 17).
• The device may not be used near a nuclear magnec tomo-
graphic resonance.
• Using components that are not part of the scope of delivery
can produce faulty measurements (Excepon: baery replace-
ment).
• DO NOT subject the body scale to strong shocks such as drop-
ping the unit on the oor.
• DO NOT damage the baeries. If baery uid gets in your
eyes, immediately rinse with plenty of clean water and contact
a physician immediately.
• Do not use if you have a pacemaker or other internal medical
device, or are pregnant.
• Not intended for use by children under 10. Always consult
your physician.
• Slippery when wet.
• Aria is designed to work in a humid bathroom environment.
Some condensaon on the scale is expected (due to hot show-
ers, etc.) and will not damage the scale. The scale should not
be submerged. Avoid splashing large amounts of water on the
scale. To prevent slipping / accidents, please thoroughly dry
the glass top before stepping on the scale.
• Keep away from source of re and/or heat.
• Store the device in a clean, safe locaon.
• DO NOT disassemble the body scale or its accessories.
• DO NOT use the body scale in the proximity of a MRI or CT.
• DO NOT use the body scale in the presence of ammable
anesthecs.
• Explosion hazard: DO NOT use the body scale in an explosive
atmosphere.
• Chemicals from LCD display panel are toxic if ingested. Use
cauon if the blood pressure meter display screen is broken.
• The body scale is intended only as an adjunct in paent as-
sessment. It must be used in conjuncon with other methods
of assessing clinical signs and symptoms.
• Use only 1.5V AA alkaline baeries with this device. Other
type of baery may damage the unit.
• Follow local ordinances and recycling instrucons regarding
disposal or recycling of the device components, including bat-
teries.
• Only the authorized service personnel can repair this device.

1.3.1.2 Cauons
• Excessive user movement may cause inaccurate readings
• All NantLife devices are designed to be compliant with rules
and regulaons in locaons they are sold and are labeled as
required.
• Any changes or modicaons to NantLife equipment, not
expressly approved by NantLife void the user’s authority to
operate the device.
• Autoclaving, ethylene oxide sterilizing, or immersing the blood
pressure meter in liquid may cause inaccurate measurements.
1.4 Before Taking a Measurement
General informaon about weight and BMI measurements:
Your healthcare providers want to get an accurate picture of your
blood pressure and chart what happens over me. Starng at age
20, the American Heart Associaon recommends a regular blood
pressure screening.
Your doctor will evaluate the data you have stored, once you share
it with her/him, and will immediately have a beer overview of the
course of your blood pressure measurements. You will be control-
ling and supporng the monitoring of your doctor’s treatment.
To ensure a reliable reading follow these recommendaons:
• Avoid eang, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bath-
ing for more than 30 minutes before taking your measure-
ment. Rest for 15 minutes before taking the measurement.
• Do not take measurement during stressful mes.
• Remove ght-ng clothing from the arm.
• Remain sll and do not talk during measurement.
• Try to measure your blood pressure at about the same me
every day for consistency.
• Wait 3 minutes between measurements to allow the arteries
to return to normal condion.

2.5 Baeries Replacement
When the low baery indicator appears on the display screen,
turn o the monitor and remove all the baeries.
Replace with 4 new “AA” 1.5V alkaline baeries.
WARNING:
If baery uid gets in your eyes, rinse with plenty of clean water
and contact a physician immediately.
CAUTION:
Dispose of the device and empty baeries according to appli-
cable local regulaons.
Unlawful disposal may cause environmental polluon.

(negave) match the polaries of the compartment.

2.6 Applying the Arm Cu
CAUTION: Read all the informaon in the instrucon manual and
any other documents in the box before operang the unit.
1. Open the top cover of the NantLife Blood Pressure Monitor
2. Gently, take the cu out of the compartment
3. Make sure the air plug is securely inserted into the air jack
4. Remove clothing from your upper (preferably le) arm
5. Apply the cu to your arm so the arrow is centered on the inside
of your arm and aligned with your middle nger. The air tube runs
down the inside of your arm. The boom edge of the cu is ap-
proximately ½” above your elbow joint (2cm)
6. Wrap the cu rmly in place using the closure strip
7. Keep your arm very sll during the measurement
Notes: Be careful not to rest your arm on the air tube. This will
restrict the ow of air going to the cu.

3. The cu starts to inate automacally. As the cu inates,
the monitor determines your ideal inaon level. The monitor
detects your blood pressure and pulse rate during inaon. The
cu deates automacally.
4. Aer a successful measurement, the display will show like the
example below
5. The measurement is stored and sent automacally to
your virtual Health Diary. You can access your data by login
in the Nantlife portal or by using the NantLife Applicaon.
6. The monitor will automacally turn o 10 seconds aer send-
ing the data through Bluetooth, or aer 1 minute when it can-
not nd a Bluetooth connecon. The data is stored in the device
memory unl a bluetooth connecon is detected.
Notes: To STOP the inaon or measurement, press the buon.
The monitor will stop inang, start deang and turn o.
2.7 Taking a Measurement
Sit in a chair with your feet at on the oor, place your arm with
the cu on a table or on your lap so the cu is level with your heart.
Relax your arm.
1. Start the NantLife Blood Pressure Monitor by pressing the buon
once. The NantLife logo will appear on the screen and stay for 2
seconds, then 00 values will appear for 10 seconds.
2. Press the buon a second me to start the measurement.

3 Care and Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning
If required, wipe the plasc casing with a damp coon cloth only.
Do not use abrasive or volale cleaners.
Important Note: The NantLife blood pressure meter cu cannot
be washed or dry-cleaned.
Contact us at www.NantLife.com for part replacement.
3.2 Maintenance
Store the cu inside the Smart Blood Pressure compartment
when not in use.
Do not forcefully bend the arm cu and air tube.
Do not fold ghtly.
Remove the baeries if the unit will not be used for three
months or longer.
Use the unit in a manner that is consistent with the user guide
manual provided.

4.2 Troubleshoong Tips
Descripon of the Problem Soluon
During the measurement, pressing the buon once does not stop
the measurement immediately and the cu does not immedi-
ately deate
Open the cu, remove the baeries and DO NOT use the device.
Contact the service department
The buon is pressed but the measurement does not take place.
The pumping does not start or stop prematurely.
Check the baeries and replace them if necessary

NantLife Smart Blood Pressure Monitor complies with the provi-

NantLife Smart Blood Pressure Monitor complies with the provi-
sions of Council Direcve 99/5/EC(R&TTE). It carries the CE mark as
proof of this.
This model complies with the provisions of the European Standard
EN 1060-1 Non-invasive sphygmomanometers- part 1: General
requirements and EN 1060-3: Supplementary requirements for
electro-mechanical blood pressure measuring systems.

7 Warranty
1. The blood pressure monitor and the arm cu are warranted
to be free from defects in material and workmanship appear-
ing within one year from the date of purchase when the moni-
tor is used in accordance with the instrucons provided with
the monitor. Proof of purchase must be supplied in the form
of a correctly completed guarantee card or a receipt. Include
a $5.00 for return shipping and handling. Include a leer with
your name, address, phone number, and descripon of the
problem. Pack the product carefully to prevent damages during
transportaon.
2. Defects due to faulty material or workmanship will be repaired
free of charge during the warranty period.
3. The warranty period is not extended as a result of warranty
services being provided, either for the devices as a whole or
for any components. The warranty excludes:
- Any damage caused by improper use, e.g. through failure to
observe the operang instrucons,
- Damage caused by maintenance or intervenons carried out
by the purchaser or unauthorized third pares
- Damage resulng from transport, either from the manufac-
turer to the consumer, or on the way to the customer services.
- Component parts subject to normal wear and tear (cu,
baeries etc.)
4. Liability is excluded for direct or indirect damage caused by the
device, even if the damage to the devise falls within the terms
of the warranty
5. The warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser.
6. NantLife shall not be liable for loss of use or any other inciden-
tal, consequenal or indirect costs, expenses or damages.
