Introduction
This manual is offered to Architects and Engineers designing
multi-family projects interested in National Comfort Products
“Comfort Pack” to heat and cool the property. Local building codes
must be applied when using our products. A building heat loss and
heat gain calculation should be done to determine the sizing of
equipment. A qualied engineer should do all sizing of electrical
supply, gas supply lines and ductwork. This will aid in many areas
of concern when designing multi-family properties.

3. DESCRIPTION
Comfort Pack is a SPVU heating and cooling
unit designed for the multi-family industry.
It is a self-contained heating and cooling
thru-the-wall packaged unit available in
gas heat or electric heat. It’s thru-the-wall
operation saves money and time with simple
easy installation. No long refrigerant or
electrical runs, and the unit can be serviced
from indoors.
MODELS- With two options the
Comfort Pack can be ordered with gas or
electric heat.
CPG Models – Gas heating with electric
cooling. Where natural gas is available, no
need for a chimney due to its direct vented
ue system and use of outside air for
combustion. We offer heating packages of
up to 51,000 BTUH output. All packages
can be eld converted to LP with our LP
Conversion Kit.
CPE Models – Electric heating with electric
cooling. Where natural gas is not available
we offer heating packages of 5, 7.5, 10,
and 15 KW.
CPG & CPE Models – With our slide out
chassis feature we have available cooling
sizes from 1 to 2.5 tons of cooling.
MATERIAL – Cabinet to be constructed of
Pre-Painted Galvanized Steel (22 Gauge
side panels and 16 Gauge divider). Indoor
and outdoor coils shall be fabricated of
raised lanced aluminum ns mechanically
bonded to seamless ried copper tubes.
COLOR – Tan
VOLTAGE – Comfort Pack units come
factory wired for 230V/1P/60HZ and can be
easily eld adjusted for 208V/1P/60HZ. The
operating voltage of the unit is from 197 to
253 volts. All CPE heat ratings are based
on 240 volts.
INDOOR AIR FLOW – The unit shall have
bottom return inlet and top supply.

FEATURES:
EXTERNAL JUNCTION BOX - Each unit
equipped with a top mounted external
junction box for ease of installation.
SAFETY INTERLOCK – Each unit equipped
with a safety interlock switch on the lter access
panel to shut down the fan while replacing
the lter (Gas units only).
EASY FILTER ACCESS – Each unit utilized
thumb screws to attach lter access panel.
A lter retainer rod is provided to insure proper
installation.
SERVICE PORTS – High and low side service
ports are accessible from the front of the
chassis using a reuseable access knock out.
*GAS UNITS – Each gas unit shall have a
clear view sight glass for easy furnace
diagnosis. Unit to be equipped with the
means of taking in outside air for combustion
through factory installation.
4. TECHNICAL DATA LIMITATIONS –
All installations should factor a proper
building heat loss/gain, along with appropri-
ate duct sizing, gas mains and riser sizing, and
electrical supply wiring to be gured by a
professional engineer familiar with local and
national codes.
STANDARDS – AHRI Rated, AHRI Standard
390-03 for Single Package Vertical
Air-Conditioners.
ENVIROMENTAL – Environmentally
friendly refrigerant HCFC R410A
5. Standard Controls & Components –
Equiped to utlilize single, 2-stage, or clock
thermostat. Factory mounted 4x4 junction box
provided for wiring. 16” x 25” x 1 disposable
return air lter for all models. All gas units
equiped with dual LED light providing self-diag-
nostic trouble shooting codes. 3/4” x 16” exible
tubing included to connect to condesate drain
connection (eld provided and installed).
6. INSTALL
Comfort Packs have a highly recommended
option of a wall sleeve for a clean nish and
future service accessibility. In order to remove
the chassis a 29” wide by 29” deep open area
must be left,unobstructed in front of the access
panels.
7. SALES
Comfort Pack is dealt through a variety of
wholesalers. Contact the factory to help locate
a nearby distributor for price and availability.
8. WARRANTY
5 year warranty of all parts and 10 year
warranty of the heat exchanger (gas only).
90 days labor warranty.
9. SERVICE
The lower section of the Comfort Pack has a
slide out chassis for easy service. The self-
contained refrigeration system and both
blower and condenser motor are located
in the chassis. All standard maintenance
instructions are within the installation and
users guides.

The Comfort Pack
Single Pack Vertical Unit (SPVU)
The Comfort Pack is classied as an SPVU. It is a single package unit that provides a
ducted supply for both heating and cooling. The single package unit offers easy installation
and service. It offers the ability for individual electric and gas metering in multifamily
applications. It’s thru the wall single package design insures no ground clutter of pad
mounted condensing units. Through the wall units have no need for long line set runs
thus eliminating the extra cost of materials such as copper and refrigerant.
AHRI
The Comfort Pack is AHRI certied and is rated at 9.00 EER. Please consult the
Commercial SPVU category of AHRIDIRECTORY.GOV for certicates of approval.
Easy Service Options
The service of the Comfort Pack comes easy with a slide out cooling chassis. This feature
is used for any major repairs or cleaning. The entire chassis can be removed and replaced
with another chassis in times of service or repair. The removal of the chassis is also
recommended during the installation of the unit. This will make the unit lighter and easier
to install. The Comfort Pack also offers high and low side service ports for checking the
operation of the refrigeration system. While maintaining system airow.
Cross Reference Data
The Comfort Pack can replace other manufacturer’s models directly. We offer a cross
reference data sheet (page 8) to aid in this process. If you have any questions, please feel
free to contact the factory with any questions.
Gas or Electric
The Comfort Pack comes in two heating options.
CPG models are gas red units rated at 80% thermal efciency and are a direct vent unit,
eliminating the need for chimney. The provided ue may not be changed or altered.
CPE models are electric heat units at 208/230 VAC. The CPE is best for areas where
gas is not an option. This unit is not a heat pump*
