System Description
Yapalong provides immediate and clear communication between 2 (3020), 3(3030) and 4(3040) users. Unlike
traditional FRS (walkie-talkie) radios, your exchange remains within the group and is private. Operation is simple and
does not require PTT (push to talk). Using the inconspicuous earbud and microphone, operation is completely
hands-free. It is always in a conference mode, meaning anyone can talk at any time, and be heard by everyone in the
group. The Yapalong unit is small, battery-operated, and water-resistant – ideal for ski schools on the slopes,
mariners, hunters, tourists groups, construction teams, and any small-group coaching. You can talk as long as you
like with you team in the city, in the remote country or in the middle of the ocean. There is no license fee to pay and
no air time charges.

(turn off mute)
Hold ‘UP button’ (approx. 3 seconds) until
green indicator light flashes once for a longer
duration.
Increase microphone
sensitivity
Press both ‘POWER button’ and ‘UP button’
simultaneously. Green indicator flashes twice
unless maximum level had been
reached. Increase microphone
sensitivity if you want to speak
softly in a quiet environment. There
are 5 microphone sensitivity levels.
Decrease microphone
sensitivity
Press both ‘POWER button’ and ‘DOWN
button’ simultaneously. Red indicator flashes twice unless
minimum level had been reached.
Decrease microphone sensitivity
when background noise is loud, for
example, in windy conditions.
Additional features
Red indicator light flashes 4 times, every 20 seconds. Battery low warning.
Communication is impeded by wind noise or loud
background noises picked up by microphone. Try to reduce microphone sensitivity and speak closer
to microphone.
Power on red indicator light changes from reduced
intensity to full intensity. Your unit is out of range from all others, or all others in
your group are inactive.
Recommendations and Tips
Power up all units in the group in relative close proximity (15 to 25 feet) and check that communication is established
before moving further apart.
If other units cannot hear you, but you can hear other(s) clearly, your unit is on mute. Press ‘UP button’ (approx. 3
seconds) until green indicator light flashes once.
For mariners, have spare earbud and microphone assemblies, and batteries. With proper installation, the Yapalong
3000 is waterproof, but the microphone and earbud are not. Be prepare to replace microphone and earbud if
needed.
For non-critical applications, unit may be used until operation stops, regardless of the battery-low warning.
To maximize radio range, adjust and experiment with different mounting positions; i.e. on arm, front or back of body
by neck strap, or waist. As a general rule, the less blocking of radio frequency wave the better for the
communication.
Each group and unit has its unique ID number. This ensures privacy and prevents interference from other systems.

Yapalong 3000 is not limited to 2 – 4 users. Listen-only units can be added to practically any number in the group.
This application is especially useful for tour groups of 10 - 50. Instead of straining to hear the guide over adjacent
tour groups, in an enclosed museum space for example, tour group guests equipped with “Listen-Only” units can walk
from exhibit to exhibit with clear real life commentary from their very own guide. For more information and availability,
