PRÉPARATION
•Outilsnécessairespourl’assemblage(noninclus):
marteau,tournevisàtêteplate,capuchonsdeconnexion,clous,
rubanàconduits,tourneviscruciformeetcouteauàlamerétractable.
•Outils utiles (non inclus) : perceuse électrique et forets.
•Retirezsoigneusementl’appareildelaboîte.
•Inspectezl’emplacementau-dessusdel’endroitoùvousdésirez
installerl’appareilpourvousassurerquelecâblagepeutserendreà
l’endroitprévu,qu’ilestpossibled’installerunsystèmedeconduits
etquel’emplacementestsufsammentgrandpouruneventilation
adéquate.
•Avantdecommencerl’installation,inspectezlesystèmedeconduits
et le câblage.
•Avantdecommencerl’installation,prévoyezunespacepermettant
l’accèspourlesinspectionsetentretiensfutursquineserapasgêné
parl’installation.
•Ilsepeutquevousayezbesoindel’aided’uneautrepersonne
pour installer le ventilateur: une personne devrait se trouver dans le
grenier,etl’autredanslapièce.
•Remarque: Les installations peuvent varier selon la manière dont le
ventilateur précédent avait été installé. Tout le matériel nécessaire
àl’installationn’estpasinclusavecleventilateur,maisvouspouvez
vous le procurer chez un détaillant pour la rénovation résidentielle et
dans une quincaillerie.

1. Fermeztoujoursl’alimentationélectriqueavantd’effectuer
l’entretienduventilateur,dumoteuroudelaboîtedejonction.
2. Lestravauxd’installationdoiventêtreeffectuésparunepersonne
qualifiée, conformément aux codes locaux et de sécurité, y
compris les règlements relatifs aux installations pare-feu.
3. Respecteztouslescodesdeconstruction,desécuritéetd’électricité
devotrerégion,demêmequeleCodenationaldel’électricitéet
la Loi sur la santé et la sécurité du travail NEC (National Electrical

SECTION 1 - Préparation du Ventilateur d’évacuation
1. Sortir le ventilateur de sa boite et confirmer que toutes les pièces
sont présentes.
2. Enleverlecouvercleducompartimentàcâbleetlerangerdans
l’emballagejusqu’àcequevousenayezbesoinanqu’ilnesoitpas
perdu ou endommagé (Figure 1).
3. Choisirl’emplacementpourvotreventilateur.Pourgarantirlameilleure
qualitéd’airetperformanceacoustique,ilestrecommandéquelalongueur
de la canalisation et le nombre de coudes soient réduits au minimum, que
lerayondechaquecoudesoitaussigrandquepossiblepourl’installation,
et que des conduits rigides isolés soient utilisés. Des conduits plus gros
réduirontlebruitetlesrestrictionsdudébitd’air.
4. Sélectionnerl’alvéoledéfonçablelamieuxappropriéeetl’enleveràl’aide
d’untournevisàlameplate(Figure 2).
5. Aucunmatérielamortissantdevibrationssupplémentairen’estnécessaire
pour ce ventilateur.
SECTION 2 - Nouvelles constructions
1. En utilisant le guide sur le support de montage, aligner le support sur la
solivepourqueledessousduventilateursoitàefeurementavecleplafond
fini. Clouer ou visser solidement le support en place (Figure 3).
ATTENTION: POUR UNE INSTALLATION APPROPRIÉE, UTILISEZ UN MINIMUM
DE 4 VIS SITUÉES DANS LES TROUS LES PLUS PROCHES DES
PLAQUES DE PLÂTRE.
2. Fixer par pression le bâti du ventilateur dans le support (Figure 4).
Leventilateurpeutêtrexéparpressionenpositionaveclecolletde
conduitfaisantfaceàgaucheouàdroiteenfonctiondequelledirection
est la plus pratique.
SECTION 3 - Constructions Existantes
1. Positionner le cabinet contre la solive ou le montant et tracer le contour
du cabinet sur le matériau du mur / plafond. Mettre le cabinet de côté et
découperl’ouverture,enprenantbiensoindenepascouperouendommager
d’utilitéélectriqueoudissimulée(Figure 5).
2. Alignerlesupportsurlasolivedemanièrequelebasduventilateursoità
efeurementavecleplafondni.Clouerouvissersolidementlesupportà
fixer par pression en place (Figure3).
3. Fixer par pression le bâti du ventilateur dans le support (Figure 4).
Leventilateurpeutêtrexéparpressionenpositionaveclecolletde
conduitfaisantfaceàgaucheouàdroiteenfonctiondequelledirection
est la plus pratique.

SECTION 4 - Conduits
ATTENTION: TOUS LES CONDUITS DOIVENT ÊTRE CONFORMES AUX CODES DU
BÂTIMENT LOCAUX ET NATIONAUX.
1. Raccorder le conduit au collet de conduit du ventilateur (Figure 6). Fixer en
placeàl’aidederubanoudeserre-joint.Toujoursévacuerleventilateurvers
l’extérieurautraversdechapeaumuraloudetoit.Ilestrecommandéqueles
raccordsd’extrémitébassederestrictionsontutilisées.
SECTION 5 - Câblage
ATTENTION:VOUSASSURERQUEL’ALIMENTATIONESTCOUPÉEAUPANNEAUDE
SERVICEAVANTDECOMMENCERL’INSTALLATION.
ATTENTION: TOUTES LES CONNEXIONS DOIVENT ÊTRE FAITES EN CONFORMITÉ
AVEC LES CODES ÉLECTRIQUES LOCAUX OU NATIONAUX. SI VOUS
N’ÊTESPASFAMILIERAVECLESMÉTHODESD’INSTALLATIONDE
CÂBLAGEÉLECTRIQUE,RECOURREZAUXSERVICESD’UN
ÉLECTRICIEN QUALIFIÉ.
1. Courirlelaged’uninterrupteurmuralapprouvédecalibreapproprié.
Unlneutre(blanc),unldemiseàlaterre(vertoucuivredénudé),et
unlvivant(lnoirconnectéàl’interrupteur).Fixerleslsélectriquesau
cabinetàl’aided’unconnecteurélectriqueapprouvé.Assurez-vousdelaisser
suffisamment de fil dans la boite de raccord pour la connexion au réceptacle
du ventilateur.
2. Delàoùvousavezaccèsàl’intérieurdelaboitedejonctionduventilateur,
connecter le fil Blanc provenant de la résidence au fil Blanc du réceptacle du
ventilateur.ConnecterlelNoirdel’interrupteurmuralaulNoirduréceptacle
duventilateur.Connecterleldemiseàlaterreprovenantdelarésidence
au fil Vert du réceptacle du ventilateur (Figure 7). Utiliser des méthodes
approuvées pour toutes les connexions.
SECTION 6 - Complétion de l’installation
1. Ilestrecommandéd’utiliserunscellantappropriépourlecontactavecles
matériaux de construction actuels et pour les besoins de la température
del’installation,and’empêcherlesfuitesd’airàpartirdesespacesnon
conditionnés.S’ilyadesgrandsécartsentreleboîtierdel’appareiletle
plafond, du matériel supplémentaire (tige de support, matériel de plafond)
peutêtrenécessaire.
NOTE:Ceventilateurestconçupourlecontactd’isolationdirecte(typeIC).
Il est aussi recommandé que ce ventilateur soit complètement recouvert
parl’isolationanderéduirelapertedechaleuroudegagnerde
l’espaceinconditionné.
2. Réinstaller le couvercle du compartiment de câble du ventilateur en place.
Fairetournerlarouedelasoufanteàlamainpourvousassurerqu’elle
tournelibrement.Brancherlecordonàraccordementrapidedansleréceptacle.
Cecordonnes’ajustequed’uneseulefaçondansleréceptacle(Figure 8).
NOTE: Si vous utilisez ce ventilateur pour répondre aux exigences de la norme
ASHRAE62.2,repérezl’étiquetteàl’intérieurduboîtierduventilateuret
complétez les informations appropriées.
3. Installer la grille en pressant ensemble les deux extrémités des ressorts et en les
installant dans les fentes du châssis du ventilateur. Pousser la grille en position (Figure 9).
4. Restaurerl’alimentationettestervotreinstallation.

5. Attach the duct to the exhaust outlet of the fan
Secure with duct tape and make sure there
is no air leak (ill. 1).
Make sure that there are no sharp bends in the duct line
(ill. 2).
For 90-degree angles, use smooth curves or break into
two smaller angles or curves (ill. 3).
NOTE
For safety and efficiency of the ventilation system,
avoid sharp angles and loose support.
6. Electrical installation
The neutral wire from the power supply must be connected
to the white wires of fan and light.
The hot wire from the switch must be connected to both
black wires of fan and light.
The green wire from the power supply is to be connected
to both green wires.
Installation II (in existing construction)
Installing the fan body in an existing building requires an accessible
area (attic or crawl or space) above the planned installation location
and existing duct and wiring.
To install the fan body, remove the old unit, check the existing
ductwork and electrical wiring and follow the procedures described
in Installation I.
Ifyouwishtomakeanewopeningintheexistingceiling:
– Find the best location for the ventilation purpose.
– Make sure the chosen place has easy access to an exterior
air outlet (wall cap or roof jack).
– Ensure you will not have to use sharp angles or very long duct.
– Make sure the ductwork in the chosen place will not interfere
with any other existing ductwork in the building.
– Make sure there is no electrical wiring or pipes behind
the chosen place.
– After finding the optimal place, proceed with the opening.
– Ensure the support beams are strong enough to hold the unit.
– Make the ductwork.
– Proceed with the electrical wiring.
– Follow the instructions provided for Installation I.
Maintenance
Replacement of the light bulbs
– Disconnect the power.
– Remove the grille from the unit.
– Disconnect the light unit from connector.
– Remove the bulb with care. Be careful, the bulb’s glass is fragile,
don’t pull too hard. Hold the base and move the lamp back
and forth in order to release it.
– Put the new light bulb in place (it is a good thing to verify that
the new light bulb is good before installing it in the unit).
– Put the cover back in place.
Cleaning the fan
It is advisable to clean the unit periodically. Dust, molds, grease and
other dirt particles can affect the conductivity of the air in the unit.
Theprocedureisasfollows:
– Remove the grille.
– Wash the grille with lukewarm water and use mild detergent
(e.g. liquid soap). Avoid harsh detergent or boiling water.
– Dry the grille with a kitchen towel or a cloth.
– Clean the inside of the unit with a vacuum cleaner (motor should
not be in contact with any water or chemicals and liquids).
– Dry the body with paper towel.
– Put the grille back in place
Limited warranty
This is a quality product. It was made and selected with care and Canac
offers a limited one-year warranty against any manufacturing defects
as long as it is used according to its intended use. Canac will
exchange any product that would show any such
manufacturing defects.

5. Fixez le conduit
Attachez bien le conduit à l’aide de ruban adhésif entoilé
(duct tape) et assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de fuite d’air (ill. 1).
Assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas d’angles aigus dans le réseau
de conduits (ill. 2).
Pour les angles de 90 degrés, faites des courbes légères
ou en deux angles plus petits (ill. 3).
NOTE
Pour les besoins de sécurité et d’efficacité
du système de ventilation, évitez les angles
aigus ou un appui instable.
6. Installation électrique
Le fil neutre de la boîte électrique doit être branché
aux fils blancs du ventilateur et de la lumière.
Le fil du courant du commutateur doit être branché
aux fils noirs du ventilateur et de la lumière.
Le fil vert de la boîte électrique doit être branché aux fils verts.
Installation II (construction existante)
Pour installer un ventilateur dans un bâtiment déjà construit,
vous devez avoir accès, par le grenier ou le faux plafond,
à l’emplacement se trouvant au-dessus de l’endroit prévu
pour l’installation et aux conduits et au câblage déjà installés.
Pour installer le ventilateur, enlevez l’ancien appareil, vérifiez
le réseau de gaines et les branchements électriques et suivez
les étapes de l’installation I.
Sivousdésirezfaireunenouvelleouverturedansunplafondexistant:
– trouvez le meilleur endroit pour les besoins de ventilation ;
– assurez-vous que l’endroit que vous aurez choisi offre un accès
facile à une sortie extérieure (au mur ou sur le toit) ;
– assurez-vous que cet endroit ne vous force pas à créer des angles
aigus ou à faire un long conduit ;
– assurez-vous que le conduit que vous installerez n’interférera pas
avec un conduit existant ;
– confirmez qu’il n’y a pas de tuyaux ou de fils électriques derrière
l’emplacement choisi ;
– après avoir trouvé l’endroit idéal, percez le trou ;
– assurez-vous que les solives sont assez fortes pour y fixer l’appa-
reil ;
– faites le conduit ;
– faites l’électricité ;
– suivez les instructions données au chapitre installation I.
Entretien
Remplacer les ampoules
– Débranchez l’alimentation.
– Retirez la grille.
– Débranchez le dispositif de lumière.
– Retirez l’ampoule avec soin. Soyez vigilant, le verre dont est
fabriqué l’ampoule est fragile, ne tirez pas trop fort. Tenez la base
et libérez l’ampoule en faisant un mouvement de va-et-vient.
– Insérez la nouvelle ampoule (nous vous recommandons
de vous assurer que l’ampoule neuve fonctionne avant de l’insérer
dans le dispositif). Assurez-vous qu’elle est bien en place.
– Remettez la grille en place.
Nettoyage du ventilateur
Le ventilateur devrait être nettoyé périodiquement. La poussière,
la moisissure, la graisse et autres saletés peuvent affecter l’efficacité
de l’appareil.
Suivezcesétapes:
– Retirez la grille.
– Lavez la grille à l’eau tiède savonneuse (utilisez un détergent doux),
évitez les détergents corrosifs et l’eau bouillante.
– Essuyez la grille avec un linge doux.
– Nettoyez l’intérieur du ventilateur à l’aide d’un aspirateur
(le moteur ne devrait pas être mis en contact avec de l’eau,
des produits chimiques ou des liquides).
– Essuyez le boîtier avec un essuie-tout.
– Remettez la grille en place.
Garantie limitée
Ceci est un produit de qualité. Il a été conçu et sélectionné avec soin
et Canac offre une garantie limitée d’un an contre tout défaut de fabrication
à la condition qu’il soit utilisé pour l’usage pour lequel il est destiné.
Canac échangera sans frais tout produit qui présenterait
de tels défauts de fabrication.

NEJAMAISUTILISERD’ABRASIFOUDEPOUDREÀRÉCURER.Séchercomplètementlagrilleavantdelaréinstaller.Pourréinstallerlagrille,
vousréféreràlaSection6-Complétiondel’installation.
2. Nettoyage de l’assemblage du ventilateur: Débrancher le cordon du moteur de son réceptacle. Nettoyer toutes les pièces avec un chiffon
secoupasserdélicatementl’aspirateurdansleventilateur.NEJAMAISIMMERGERDESPIÈCESÉLECTRIQUESDANSL’EAU.Rebrancherle
cordonetremettrel’alimentation.

INTRODUCTION

Please read these instructions carefully before installing, operating or servicing the fan. Failure to comply with the instructions contained herein
could result in personal in jury or property damage. We recommend that you keep this booklet for future reference.
This Theia Series bathroom fan uses state-of-the-art technology and is designed with a built-in thermal cut-off for safety and to prolong the life
of the motor.
PREPARATION
•Tools Required for Assembly (not included):
Hammer, Drill Bits, Flathead Screwdriver, Wire Nuts, Nails, Duct Tape,
Phillips Screwdriver, Utility Knife
•Helpful Tools (not included): Electric Drill, Wood Screws
•Carefully remove unit from carton.
•Check area above installation location to be sure that wiring can run
to the planned location and that duct work can be run and the area is
sufficient for proper ventilation.
•Inspect duct work and wiring before proceeding with installation.
•Before installation, provide inspection and future maintenance
access at a location that will not interfere with installation work.
•You may need the help of a second person to install this fan; one
person on the attic side and one on the room side.
•Note: Installations may vary depending on how the previous bath fan
was installed. Supplies necessary for the installation of your bath fan
are not all included; however, most are available at your local home
improvement or hardware store.

General safety information and warnings
Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product.
1. Always disconnect the power supply prior to servicing the fan,
motor or junction box.
2. Installation work must be carried out by a qualified person(s) in
accordance to ail local and safety codes including the rules for
fire-rated construction.
3. Follow ail local building, safety and electrical codes as weil as
NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and
Health Act).
4. Electric Service supply must be 120 volts, 60 hertz.
5. This unit must be properly grounded.
6. Do not bend or kink the power wires.
7. Exercise care to not damage existing wiring when cutting or
drilling into walls or ceilings.
8. Sufficient air supply is required for proper combustion and the
exhaustion of gases through the chimney (flue) of fuel burning
equipment to prevent back-drafting. See the standards of NFPA
(National Fire Protection Association) and ASHRAE (American
Society for Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers)
and the local building code authorities.
9. Do not use this fan with any solid state control device, such as
a remote control, dimmer switch, or certain timers. Mechanical
timers are not solid state devices.
10. This ventilation fan is approved for use over a bathtub or shower
when installed in a GFCI protected circuit. Do not use fans over a
bathtub or shower that are not approved for that application and
marked accordingly.
11. Do not install in a cooking area. or where the room air temperature
will exceed 104oF (40 o C).
12. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive vapors.
13. Fans should always be vented to the exterior and in compliance
with local codes and avoid any sharp corner, area reduction or
unnecessary angles on ducking. Do not vent exhaust air into
spaces within walls or ceiling or into attic, crawl spaces or
garages.
14. Do not install in a ceiling with insulation greater than R42.
15. Duct work should be installed in a straight line with minimal bends.
16. Duct work size must be the same size as the discharge and should
not be reduced. Reducing the duct size may increase fan noise.
17. Prior to service or cleaning this unit, shut off power supply at the
panel and lock to prevent the power from being turned on. If the
panel cannot be locked, clearly mark the panel with a warning tag
to prevent the power from being turned on.
18. Use this unit in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you

SECTION 1 - Preparing the Exhaust Fan
1. Unpack fan from the carton and confirm that all pieces are present.
In addition to the exhaust fan.
2. Remove the wire compartment cover and store in the carton until needed
so it does not get damaged or lost (Figure 1).
3. Choose the location for your fan. To ensure the best air and sound
performance, it is recommended that the length of ducting and the
number of elbows be kept to a minimum, the radius of each elbow be
as large as possible for the installation, and that insulated hard ducting
be used. Larger duct sizes will reduce noise and airflow restrictions.
4. Select the most convenient electrical knockout and remove using a
straightblade screw driver (Figure 2).
5. No additional vibration deadening materials are needed for this fan.
SECTION 2 - New constructions
1. Using the gauge on the mounting bracket, line up the bracket on the joist so
the bottom of the fan will be flush with the finished ceiling. Nail or screw the
bracket in place securely (Figure 3).
WARNING: PROPER INSTALLATION REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 4 SCREWS
LOCATED IN HOLES CLOSEST TO DRYWALL.
2. Snap the fan body into the bracket (Figure 4). The fan can be snapped into
position with the duct collar facing to the left or the right depending which
is most convenient.
SECTION 3 - Existing constructions
1. Position housing against the joist or stud and trace an outline of the housing
onto the ceiling/wall material. Set housing aside and cut opening, being
careful not to cut or damage any electrical or other hidden utilities (Figure 5).
2. Line up the bracket on the joist so the bottom of the fan will be flush
with the finished ceiling. Nail or screw the snap-in bracket in place
securely (Figure3).
3. Snap the fan body into the bracket (Figure 4). The fan can be snapped
into position with the duct collar facing to the left or the right depending
which is most convenient.

SECTION 4 - Ducting
CAUTION: ALL DUCTING MUST COMPLY WITH LOCAL AND NATIONAL
BUILDING CODES.
1. Connecttheductingtothefan’sductcollar(Figure 6). Secure in place
using tape or screw clamp. Always duct the fan to the outside through
a wall or roof cap. It is recommended that low restriction termination
fittings be used.
SECTION 5 - Wiring
CAUTION: MAKE SURE POWER IS SWITCHED OFF AT SERVICE PANEL
BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.
CAUTION: ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS MUST BE MADE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL CODES, ORDINANCES, OR
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE. IF YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH
METHODS OF INSTALLING ELECTRICAL WIRING, SECURE THE
SERVICES OF A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
1. Run wiring from an approved wall switch carrying the appropriate rating.
One neutral (white), one ground (green or bare copper), and one hot
(black lead connected to the switch). Secure the electrical wires to the
housing with an approved electrical connector. Make sure you leave
enoughwiringintheboxtomaketheconnectiontothefan’sreceptacle.
2. Fromwhereyouhaveaccesstoinsidethefan’sjunctionbox,connect
theWhitewirefromthehousetotheWhitewirefromthefan’sreceptacle.
Connect the Black wire from the wall switch to the Black wire from
thefan’sreceptacle.Connectthegroundwirefromthehousetothe
Greenwirefromthefan’sreceptacle(Figure 7). Use approved methods
for all connections.
SECTION 6 - Completing the Installation
1. Use a sealant appropriate for contact with the building materials present
and for the temperature requirements of the installation to prevent air
leakage from unconditioned spaces is recommended. If gaps between
unit housing and ceiling are great, additional material (backing rod, ceiling
material) may be required.
NOTE: This fan is rated for direct insulation contact (Type IC) and it is
recommended that this fan be completely covered by insulation in
order to reduce heat loss or gain to unconditioned space.
2. Reinstallthefan’swirecompartmentcover.Rotatetheblowerwheelby
handtoensureitspinsfreely.Plugthefan’squickconnectmotorcordinto
the receptacle. This cord will only fit one way into the receptacle (Figure 8).
NOTE: If using this fan to meet ASHRAE 62.2 requirements, locate the
label inside the fan housing and fill in the appropriate information.
3. Install the grill by squeezing the two ends of the springs together and
installingthemupintotheslotsofthefan’shousing.Pushthegrillup
into position (Figure 9).
4. Restore power and test your installation.

5. Attach the duct to the exhaust outlet of the fan
Secure with duct tape and make sure there
is no air leak (ill. 1).
Make sure that there are no sharp bends in the duct line
(ill. 2).
For 90-degree angles, use smooth curves or break into
two smaller angles or curves (ill. 3).
NOTE
For safety and efficiency of the ventilation system,
avoid sharp angles and loose support.
6. Electrical installation
The neutral wire from the power supply must be connected
to the white wires of fan and light.
The hot wire from the switch must be connected to both
black wires of fan and light.
The green wire from the power supply is to be connected
to both green wires.
Installation II (in existing construction)
Installing the fan body in an existing building requires an accessible
area (attic or crawl or space) above the planned installation location
and existing duct and wiring.
To install the fan body, remove the old unit, check the existing
ductwork and electrical wiring and follow the procedures described
in Installation I.
Ifyouwishtomakeanewopeningintheexistingceiling:
– Find the best location for the ventilation purpose.
– Make sure the chosen place has easy access to an exterior
air outlet (wall cap or roof jack).
– Ensure you will not have to use sharp angles or very long duct.
– Make sure the ductwork in the chosen place will not interfere
with any other existing ductwork in the building.
– Make sure there is no electrical wiring or pipes behind
the chosen place.
– After finding the optimal place, proceed with the opening.
– Ensure the support beams are strong enough to hold the unit.
– Make the ductwork.
– Proceed with the electrical wiring.
– Follow the instructions provided for Installation I.
Maintenance
Replacement of the light bulbs
– Disconnect the power.
– Remove the grille from the unit.
– Disconnect the light unit from connector.
– Remove the bulb with care. Be careful, the bulb’s glass is fragile,
don’t pull too hard. Hold the base and move the lamp back
and forth in order to release it.
– Put the new light bulb in place (it is a good thing to verify that
the new light bulb is good before installing it in the unit).
– Put the cover back in place.
Cleaning the fan
It is advisable to clean the unit periodically. Dust, molds, grease and
other dirt particles can affect the conductivity of the air in the unit.
Theprocedureisasfollows:
– Remove the grille.
– Wash the grille with lukewarm water and use mild detergent
(e.g. liquid soap). Avoid harsh detergent or boiling water.
– Dry the grille with a kitchen towel or a cloth.
– Clean the inside of the unit with a vacuum cleaner (motor should
not be in contact with any water or chemicals and liquids).
– Dry the body with paper towel.
– Put the grille back in place
Limited warranty
This is a quality product. It was made and selected with care and Canac
offers a limited one-year warranty against any manufacturing defects
as long as it is used according to its intended use. Canac will
exchange any product that would show any such
manufacturing defects.

5. Fixez le conduit
Attachez bien le conduit à l’aide de ruban adhésif entoilé
(duct tape) et assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de fuite d’air (ill. 1).
Assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas d’angles aigus dans le réseau
de conduits (ill. 2).
Pour les angles de 90 degrés, faites des courbes légères
ou en deux angles plus petits (ill. 3).
NOTE
Pour les besoins de sécurité et d’efficacité
du système de ventilation, évitez les angles
aigus ou un appui instable.
6. Installation électrique
Le fil neutre de la boîte électrique doit être branché
aux fils blancs du ventilateur et de la lumière.
Le fil du courant du commutateur doit être branché
aux fils noirs du ventilateur et de la lumière.
Le fil vert de la boîte électrique doit être branché aux fils verts.
Installation II (construction existante)
Pour installer un ventilateur dans un bâtiment déjà construit,
vous devez avoir accès, par le grenier ou le faux plafond,
à l’emplacement se trouvant au-dessus de l’endroit prévu
pour l’installation et aux conduits et au câblage déjà installés.
Pour installer le ventilateur, enlevez l’ancien appareil, vérifiez
le réseau de gaines et les branchements électriques et suivez
les étapes de l’installation I.
Sivousdésirezfaireunenouvelleouverturedansunplafondexistant:
– trouvez le meilleur endroit pour les besoins de ventilation ;
– assurez-vous que l’endroit que vous aurez choisi offre un accès
facile à une sortie extérieure (au mur ou sur le toit) ;
– assurez-vous que cet endroit ne vous force pas à créer des angles
aigus ou à faire un long conduit ;
– assurez-vous que le conduit que vous installerez n’interférera pas
avec un conduit existant ;
– confirmez qu’il n’y a pas de tuyaux ou de fils électriques derrière
l’emplacement choisi ;
– après avoir trouvé l’endroit idéal, percez le trou ;
– assurez-vous que les solives sont assez fortes pour y fixer l’appa-
reil ;
– faites le conduit ;
– faites l’électricité ;
– suivez les instructions données au chapitre installation I.
Entretien
Remplacer les ampoules
– Débranchez l’alimentation.
– Retirez la grille.
– Débranchez le dispositif de lumière.
– Retirez l’ampoule avec soin. Soyez vigilant, le verre dont est
fabriqué l’ampoule est fragile, ne tirez pas trop fort. Tenez la base
et libérez l’ampoule en faisant un mouvement de va-et-vient.
– Insérez la nouvelle ampoule (nous vous recommandons
de vous assurer que l’ampoule neuve fonctionne avant de l’insérer
dans le dispositif). Assurez-vous qu’elle est bien en place.
– Remettez la grille en place.
Nettoyage du ventilateur
Le ventilateur devrait être nettoyé périodiquement. La poussière,
la moisissure, la graisse et autres saletés peuvent affecter l’efficacité
de l’appareil.
Suivezcesétapes:
– Retirez la grille.
– Lavez la grille à l’eau tiède savonneuse (utilisez un détergent doux),
évitez les détergents corrosifs et l’eau bouillante.
– Essuyez la grille avec un linge doux.
– Nettoyez l’intérieur du ventilateur à l’aide d’un aspirateur
(le moteur ne devrait pas être mis en contact avec de l’eau,
des produits chimiques ou des liquides).
– Essuyez le boîtier avec un essuie-tout.
– Remettez la grille en place.
Garantie limitée
Ceci est un produit de qualité. Il a été conçu et sélectionné avec soin
et Canac offre une garantie limitée d’un an contre tout défaut de fabrication
à la condition qu’il soit utilisé pour l’usage pour lequel il est destiné.
Canac échangera sans frais tout produit qui présenterait

Maintenance
CAUTION: MAKE SURE POWER IS SWITCHED OFF AT SERVICE PANEL BEFORE SERVICING THE UNIT.
1. Cleaning the Grill: Remove grill and use a mild detergent, such as dishwashing liquid, and dry with a soft cloth. NEVER USE ANY ABRASIVE
PADS OR SCOURING POWDERS. Completely dry grill before reinstalling. Refer to instructions in Section 6 Finishing the Installation, to reinstall
grill.
2. Cleaning the Fan Assembly: Unplug the motor cord from receptacle. Wipe all parts with a dry cloth or gently vacuum the fan. NEVER IMMERSE
ELECTRICAL PARTS IN WATER. Plug the motor cord back in and restore power.
Troubleshooting Guide
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Fan does not operate when the switch
is on.
1a A fuse may be blown or a circuit tripped. 1a Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
1b Connector plug from motor is not
plugged in.
1b Turn off power to unit. Remove Grill and
plug motor into receptacle in housing.
Restore power to unit.
1c Wiring is not connected properly. 1c Turn off power to unit. Check that all wires
are connected.

2. Fan is operating, but air moves slower
than normal.
2. Obstruction in the exhaust ducting. 2. Check for any obstructions in the duct-
ing. The most common are bird nests in
the roof cap or wall cap where the fan
exhausts to the outside.
3. Fan is operating louder than normal. 3a Motor is loose. 3a Turn off power to unit. Remove grill and
check that all screws are fully tightened.
Restore power to unit.
3b Fan blade is hitting housing of unit. 3b Call your dealer for service.
Limited warranty
WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS:
This product is warranted against defects in workmanship and/or materials.
HOW LONG THIS WARRANTY LASTS:
This warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the product and lasts for one (1) year from the date of original purchase or until the original
purchaser of the product sells or transfers the product, whichever first occurs.
WHAT NAUTIKA WILL DO:
During the warranty period, Nautika will, at its sole option, repair or replace any part or parts that prove to be defective or replace the whole
product with the same or comparable model.
WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
This warranty does not apply if the product was damaged or failed because of accident, improper handling or operation, shipping damage, abuse,
misuse, unauthorized repairs made or attempted. Nautika will pay return shipping charges to Nautika warehouse in warranty replacement cases.
Some states and provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so these exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have
other rights which vary from state to state and province to province. Proof of purchase is required before a warranty claim will be accepted.
