•Cleartheareabeforestartingtheengine.

•Usecorrectliftingdevices.
•Usewheelchocksandstands.
Engine
•Theengineshouldbeoperatedorservicedonlybyqualiedindividuals.
•Providenecessaryventilationwhenoperatingengineinaclosedarea.
•Keepcombustiblematerialawayfromengineexhaustsystemandexhaustmanifolds.
•Installallshields,guards,andaccesscoversbeforeoperatingengine.
•Donotrunenginewithunprotectedairinletsorexhaustopenings.Ifunavoidableforservice
reasons,putprotectivescreensoverallopeningsbeforeservicingengine.
•Shutengineoffandrelieveallpressureinthesystembeforeremovingpanels,housingcovers,andcaps.
•Ifanengineisnotsafetooperate,tagtheengineandignitionkey.
FirePrevention
•Makesurechargedreextinguishersareintheworkarea.

ItisstronglyrecommendedthatallT erminateandStayResident(TSR)programsliketheQuicktime®program,
CDplayerprograms,orPocketPCprogramsbeterminatedpriortoloadingorstartingtheNavKal™software.
TheseprogramsinterferewiththeefcientoperationoftheNavKal™programandcancauseerrorsreading
andprogrammingtheESC/BC.
ToinstalltheNavKal™software:
1.Priortoinstallation,aNavKal™productkeymustbeobtainedforeachcomputeronwhichtheNavKal™
softwareistobeinstalled.
2.Usingthewebbrowserofyourchoice,navigatetotheNavKal™pageonNavistar’sservicesoftwaresite:

3.ClicktheDOWNLOADbuttontodownloadtheNavKal™software.
4.Whenthelehasnisheddownloading,clickNAVKALSETUP .EXTtorunthesoftwareandbegin
