Introduction
ThiskitprovidesthecomponentstoaddanintegratedUPSBatterytoa
7457,7459,or7606terminal.Thisfeaturecanonlybeinstalledin
terminalsthatareequippedwithaUPSPowerSupply.

COM Port Considerations
ThemethodsusedtoprovidetheportassignmentsfortheUPSare
differentbetweenthe7457‐3xxxand7457‐4xxxterminals.
3xxx‐hasadedicatedCOM5portwhichcanonlybeusedfortheUPS.
4xxx‐TheUPStakestheplaceofoneoftheexistingCOMports(COM3
orCOM4),dependingonwhichconnectoronthemotherboardisused
(FactorydefaultisCOM4).TheUPSusestheIRQandADDRESSofthe
portthatitreplaced,i.e.youloosefunctionalityforthatparticular
serialport).

MotherboardandusesCOM4.SinceboththeUPSandtheExtended
I/OBoarduseCOM4theycannotbeusedatthesametime.
7606‐1110–TheUPSconnectsdirectlytoaconnectoronthe
MotherboardandusesCOM4.SinceboththeUPSandtheExtended
I/OBoarduseCOM4theycannotbeusedatthesametime.

Installation Procedure (7457)
1. Remove the screws (3) that secure the Top Cover.

3. Pulloutonthesidesofthecoverasyouliftthecoveroffthe
chassis.

4. Remove the Front Cover.
a. TurntheKeylocktotheunlockedposition.
b. OpentheAccessDoor
c. Insertarounddevice,suchasascrewdriverorpenintothe
AccessHoletoreleasetherightsideoftheFrontCoverfromthe
chassis.

5. Remove the UPS Battery Cover Plate (screw).

6. Attach the Poron Pad to the tab on the chassis, slightly below the
surface.

7. Find the UPS Battery Cable in the cable cluster in the terminal and
connect it to the UPS Battery.
8. Insert the battery into the terminal.
Caution: Makesurethecablesdonotbecomepinchedbetween
thebatteryandthechassis.

9. Install the UPS Battery Cover Plate and secure it with the screw.
Note: Makesurethebottomoftheplateislocatedinsidethe
chassis.

10. Connect the UPS cables.

removethecover.
