Quick Learn Programming Guide

Microcoin “Quick Learn” is a powerful on-board programming facility which provides you with the ability to program your
Microcoin QL simply and eciently without having to remove it from the machine.
Easy to follow instructions are located on the validator for your convenience.
An LED provides visual indications of your progress and also validator diagnostics feedback.
Quick Learn permits any coin or token to be programmed into the rst 5 coin categories. You can set the value up to $99.99.
The value can also be changed independently under Change Value mode, press program button x 4.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Install or replace long drop bracket on faceplate.
2. Coin cup may need to be removed and re-attached in order to mount faceplate.
3. Place Microcoin QL into the bracket and secure with lockable brace.
4. The two holes on the lockable brace are designed to t over the screw heads on the back of the QL coin mechanism.
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
Note 1:The blue and green wires are interchangeable.
Note 2:Dixmor timer users should skip to step 4.
1. Connect the black and a blue or green wire to the 24 VAC.
2. Connect the yellow wire to the Neutral.
3. The other blue or green wire (see note 1) connects to the
timer coin pulse.
4. Dixmor timers only:
Connect black wire to 24 VAC.
Connect yellow and a blue or green wire to Neutral.
Connect the other blue or green wire to timer coin pulse.
Enable/Disable Coins
Any coin which is programmed into the Microcoin QL can
be turned on or o by simply selecting the enable or disable
feature and passing the coin through the validator.
The Microcoin QL automatically senses the coin and enables
or disables it accordingly.
Enable Press program button x 1, LED ashes green
Roll coin to enable
LED steady green
Disable Press program button x 2, LED ashes red

1. ESCAPE
If you hold the programming button for
more than 2 seconds, Microcoin QL will
exit from its program mode and revert to
normal operation.
2. DIAGNOSTICS
The following diagnostics are available
by observing the LED.
Validator Operational LED is green
Validator Fault LED is red
Coin Accepted LED ashes green
once per coin
Validator Disabled LED is amber
No Power LED is O
3. PROGRAM TOKEN
Note 1: You are not restricted to
programming with 10 coin passes. You
may run as many coins as you wish, with
the benet of maximizing the coin accept
rate with the more coins you use.
Note 2: When setting the value, hold
briey to register and release. If too short,
value will continue to cycle, if too long,
sequence will abort. You can reset token
value by pressing the program button 4
times to enter Set Value mode.
Step 1 – Enter Mode
Press program button x 3
Display will show“1”, LED will ash
amber
Step 4 – Set Value
Display will cycle through token value
in dollars and cents - $xx.xx
Cycle to required value, press button,
hold to register and release

Step 3 – Program Token
Run a recommended minimum of
10 coins. When done, the display
will show “0”, LED will show steady
amber
Press the program button to go to the
next step
Step 2 – Index to Cat
Index to your required coin category
(default 1)
4. CHANGE VALUE
Note 3: Quick Learn is designed to
supplement the facilities available via QLTalk
programming software. There may be
solutions you wish to employ which require
the full features of the software
Step 1 – Enter Mode

Step 2 – Index to Cat
Index to your required coin category
(default 1)
Press the program button to go to the
next step
Step 3 – Change Value
Display will cycle through token value in
dollars and cents - $xx.xx
Cycle to required value, press button,
hold to register and release
