には、必ず、アダプタを実装する CPU ブレードを抜いてから行ってく

い。感電や火災をおこすおそれがあります。
CPU ブレードへの N8403-012 アダプタの取り付け・取り外しを行うと
き、および、ブレード収納ユニットへ CPU ブレードを取り付けるとき
に、指をはさんだり、ぶつけたりしないように注意してください。
本製品は、各自治体の条例に従って廃棄してください。詳しくは、各自
治体へお問い合わせください。
本製品を、他人に譲渡する場合は本書および添付品すべてを必ず一緒に

Caution Observe fully.
Do not plug/unplug the power cord with wet hands. There is a risk of an
electric shock.
When you attach/detach N8403-012 adapter to/from the server, make
sure to remove first the CPU blade where this adapter is build-in.
Otherwise, there is a risk of an electric shock.
Use a conforming power source for the server to its specifications.
Otherwise, there is a risk of a fire or current leakage.
Be careful not to catch or hurt your finger when attaching/detaching
N8403-012 adapter to/from CPU blade, and when attaching CPU blade
to Blade Server Assemble Unit.
When you dispose this product, be certain to observe your local
disposal regulations. For details, consult your municipal office.
Attach this User’s Guide and accessories of this product if you are
transferring (or selling) this product to a third party.

または本体装置(CPU ブレードおよびブレード収納ユニット)の破損に関しては保証
いたしません。
zN8403-012 アダプタを本体装置に取り付けたり取り外したりする作業は、アダ
プタを実装する CPU ブレードを取り外した状態で行ってください。N8403-012
アダプタおよび、本体装置を破損する危険があります。
z静電気による部品の破壊を防ぐため、N8403-012 アダプタに触れる前には、必
ず人体の放電をしてください。
zN8403-012 アダプタの LAN ポートや、各部品の端子部、およびアダプタ上で塗
装されていない金属部分には、決して触れないでください。汚れや腐蝕等によ
り、接触不良が発生するおそれがあります。また、濡れた手や汚れた手で触れ
ないでください。
zN8403-012 アダプタをスムーズに挿入できない本体装置があるかもしれませ
ん。その場合、挿入の際に N8403-012 アダプタ、および本体装置を傷つけない
ように注意してください。
zN8403-012 アダプタを拡張スロットに挿入する際、ブラケットの先端が本体装
置の他の部位（他の部品、ボードなど）に触れないようにご注意ください。破
損するおそれがあります。
故障した場合は、販売店または保守員に連絡してください。
注意 必ずお守りください
zケーブルは本ボードのインタフェイスに適合するものを使用し、接続先をよく
確認した上で接続してください。障害が発生するおそれがあります。
zケーブル接続時は、カチッという音がするまでケーブルコネクタを挿入してく
ださい。
z接続ケーブルを踏んだり、重いものを乗せるなどの機械的なストレスをかけた
り、熱などを加えないようにしてください。またケーブルを取り外す時はロッ
クを外し、コネクタ部分を持って真っ直ぐに引き抜いてください。障害が発生
するおそれがあります。
故障した場合は、販売店または保守員に連絡してください。

Caution Observe fully.
This section describes what you should not do when attaching/detaching this
product. Damages on N8403-012 adapter and/or the server (CPU blade and Blade
Server Assemble Unit) due to negligence of any of these are not covered by the
warranty.
zTo attach/detach N8403-012 adapter to/from the server, make sure to remove
the CPU blade that you intend to attach/detach it from the cabinet. Otherwise,
N8403-012 adapter and the server may be damaged.
zTo prevent any damage on components due to static electricity, make sure to
discharge static electricity from yourself before you touch N8403-012 adapter.
zNever touch N8403-012 adapter’s LAN port, terminals of components or
uncoated metal parts on adapter. Otherwise, taint, erosion or others may cause
loose connection. Do not touch this product with wet or dirty hands.
zOn some servers, you may not be able to smoothly insert N8403-012 adapter. If
so, be careful not to damage the server and/or the adapter itself by inserting
N8403-012 adapter.
zWhen you insert N8403-012 adapter into expansion slot, be careful not to touch
the tip of bracket to other parts of server (such as other components or board).
Otherwise, they may be damaged.
If anything goes wrong with this product, contact your sales agent.
Caution Observe fully.
zUse a cable compatible with this adapter’s interface. Confirm the place you
should insert the cable. Otherwise, it may cause a failure.
zWhen connecting the cable, insert the cable connector until you hear a click
sound.
zDo not stress the cable mechanically by stepping on or placing a heavy object, or
do not heat the cable. When you unplug the cable, unlock it first, hold the
connector and pull it straight. Otherwise, it may be damaged.
If anything goes wrong with this product, contact your sales agent.

注意事項
1. 本製品に添付のドライバソフトは、以下の OS をサポートします。
N8403-012 アダプタをご使用の際には、必ず添付のドライバソフトにて、アップデートし
てください。
Windows 2000®(サービスパック４以上)
Windows Server 2003®
2. Linux で使用される場合は、以下のいずれかを使用し、手順に従ってインストールしてくだ
さい。
・NEC が提供する、ご使用になる OS に添付された媒体およびマニュアル
・NEC のWeb サイトで提供される修正モジュール
3. N8403-012 をCPUブレードに取り付ける前に以下の作業が必要です。
・Intel®PROSetの削除
・オンボードLANのドライバ更新
本書の「4.ドライバのインストールとアダプタの設定」(5ページ)に示す手順に従って、
Intel®PROSetの削除およびオンボードLANのドライバを更新してください。
なお、本作業は「ターミナルサービス(TS)」または「Deployment Manager(DPM)」からは
できません。CPUブレード本体上で作業を実施してください。
4. N8403-012 をCPU ブレードに取り付けた後に、BIOS の設定を一部変更して頂く必要があ
ります。「4.2.アダプタ取り付け後の BIOS 設定変更について」(6ページ)に従って変更作業
を実施してください。

Precautions
1. The driver software which comes with this product supports the following operating systems.
To use N8403-012 adapter, make sure to update the operating system with this driver
software.
Windows 2000® (Service Pack 4 or newer)
Windows Server 2003®
2. To use this product on Linux, install the driver either by
+ Media and manual that and come with the operating system provided by NEC
+ Update module available at NEC’s Web site
3. Before you attach N8403-012 adapter to CPU blade, you should,
・Remove Intel®PROSet, and
・Update the onboard LAN driver.
Follow the steps in Chapter 4 “Installing driver and setting up adapter” on page 44 in this
document for removing Intel®PROSet and updating the onboard LAN driver.
You cannot do this from “Terminal Service (TS) ” or “Deployment Manager (DPM). ” Do this
on CPU blade itself.
4. When you have attached N8403-012 adapter on CPU blade, you have to change a part of
BIOS settings. See Section 4.2 “Changing BIOS settings after attaching the adapter” on
page 45 for details.

zLAN ポート
ネットワークに接続するためのコネクタです。コネクタ形状は“RJ-45”です。
接続できるケーブルの種類および接続方法については、「3.ネットワークケーブルの接
続」(4ページ)を参照してください。
zPCI バスコネクタ
PCI バスコネクタを、本体装置の PCI 拡張スロットへ実装します。なお、本アダプタ
は、64bit PCI / Rev2.2 および PCI-X(133MHz 以下)に対応し、 +5V/+3.3V ユニバー
サル仕様となっています。
zPCI ライザカード
CPU ブレードと N8403-012 を接続するためのライザカードです。
PCI（または PCI-X）スロットに N8403-012 アダプタを取り付けてから、CPU ブレー
ドインタフェイスを CPU ブレードのインタフェイスに接続します。

2. 本体装置へのアダプタの取り付け
アダプタを取り付ける前に以下の作業が必要です。
「4.ドライバのインストールとアダプタの設定」(5ページ)に従って作
業してください
・オンボードLANのドライバ更新
・Intel®PROSetの削除
ブレードサーバの機構についての基本的な取り扱いについては、
CPUブレードおよびブレード収納ユニット付属の取扱説明書を参
照してください。
1. カードを取り付ける CPU ブレードをシャットダウンして電源を OFF にします。
2. ブレード収納ユニットから CPU ブレードを取り外します。
警告
高温に注意してください
本体装置の電源をOFFにした直後は、内部の部品が高温になって
います。カバーは、十分時間をおいて内部が冷めたことを確認し
てから取り外してください。
3. CPU ブレードに他の PCI ボードが既に装着されている場合、他の PCI ボードを CPU ブレー
ドから取り外し、PCI ライザカードも取り外します。
4. CPU ブレードを、ほこりが少ない静電気防止処理が施されたシートの上に置きます。
5. 本製品に添付されている PCI ライザカードを CPU ブレードに取り付けます。
取り付けの際はコネクタをしっかりと奥まで差し込んで装着してください。
6. アダプタ本体を、CPU ブレードに取り付けた PCI ライザカードの PCI コネクタ部分に取り付
けます。取り付けの際はコネクタをしっかりと奥まで差し込んで装着してください。

7. CPU ブレード添付のネジ１本を用いて、N8403-012 のフロントパネルを CPU ブレードに固
定してください。
警告
本体装置の内部や、アダプタには突起状の部品が含まれておりま
すので、取り付ける際には十分注意してください。
8. CPU ブレードをブレード収納ユニットに差し込み、「4.ドライバのインストールとアダプタの
設定」(6ページ)の手順にしたがって、BIOS 設定値変更およびドライバのセットアップを実
施してください。
3. ネットワークケーブルの接続
本N8403-012 アダプタの LAN ポートにネットワークケーブル（ツイストペアケーブル）のコ
ネクタを接続します。
各通信規格に使用可能なツイストペアケーブルの種類は以下の通りです。

1000Base-T カテゴリ 5e 以上
※ツイストペアケーブルは 8芯4ペアのケーブルをお使いください。
また、ツイストペアケーブルの長さは最大 100 メートルのものが使用できます。
