うございます。
本書は N8403-065(または N8403-067) 10GBASE 接続ボード(2ch) (以降、「本製品」と呼びます)を正しく、安
全に設置、使用するための手引きです。本製品を取り扱う前に、必ずお読みください。また本製品を使用するうえでわから
ないことや、不具合が起きたときにもぜひご利用ください。
本製品を取り付ける CPU ブレードの取り扱いについての説明は、CPU ブレードに添付のユーザーズガイドを参照して
ください。また本製品を取り扱う前に「使用上のご注意」、「安全上のご注意」を必ずお読みください。

本製品を CPU ブレードに組み込んでお買い求め頂いた場合、CPU ブレードに添付された保証書が本製品の保証書を兼ねます。
CPU ブレードの保証書に本製品の記載があるかご確認ください。
本製品はドライバディスクを添付していません。
LAN ドライバは CPU ブレードに添付された EXPRESSBUILDER に収録されていますので、CPU ブレードのインストレーションガイドを参照
してドライバをセットアップしてください。

本製品を安全にお使いいただくために、ここで説明する注意事項をよく読んで理解し、安全に利用してください。記号の説明について
は本書の「安全にかかわる表示」を参照してください。

ご自分で分解、修理、改造はしない
本書に記載されている場合を除き、絶対に分解したり、修理・改造を行ったりしないでください。装置が正常に動作しなく
なるばかりでなく、感電や火災の危険があります。故障の際はお買い求めの販売店または保守サービス会社にご連絡くださ
い。
煙や異臭・異音がしたまま使用しない
万一、煙・異臭・異音などが生じた場合は、ただちに電源を OFF にして電源コードをコンセントから抜いてください。そ
の後、お買い求めの販売店または保守サービス会社にご連絡ください。そのまま使用すると火災の原因となります。
高温に注意する
CPU ブレードの電源を OFF にした直後は、装置内の部品が高温になっています。十分に冷めたことを確認してから取り
付け／取り外しを行ってください。
確実に接続する
本製品を CPU ブレードのメザニン拡張スロットに接続するときは、確実に差し込んでネジを締めてください。完全に差し
込まなかったり、ネジを締めなかったりした場合、発煙や発火のおそれがあります。
中途半端に差し込まない
電源コードおよびケーブルは根本までしっかりと差し込んでください。中途半端に差し込むと接触不良のため発熱し、火災
の原因となることがあります。また差し込み部にほこりがたまり、水滴などが付くと発熱し、火災の原因となるおそれがあ
ります。
指定以外のインタフェースケーブルを使用しない
インタフェースケーブルは、指定するものを使用し、接続する装置やコネクタを確認した上で接続してください。指定以
外のケーブルを使用したり、接続先を誤ったりすると、ショートにより感電や火災を起こすことがあります。
インタフェースケーブルの取り扱いや接続について次の注意をお守りください。
・破損したケーブルを使用しない。
・ケーブルを踏まない
・ケーブルの上にものを載せない
・ケーブルを改造・加工・修復しない
腐食性ガスの存在する環境で使用または保管しない
腐食性ガス（二酸化硫黄、硫化水素、二酸化窒素、塩素、アンモニア、オゾンなど）の存在する環境に設置し、使用しない
でください。また、ほこりや空気中に腐食を促進する成分（塩化ナトリウムや硫黄など）や導電性の金属などが含まれてい
る環境へも設置しないでください。装置内部のプリント板が腐食し、故障および発煙・発火の原因となるおそれがあります。
もしご使用の環境で上記の疑いがある場合は、販売店または保守サービス会社にご相談ください。
使用上のご注意 ～本製品を正しく動作させるために～
本製品を使用するときに注意していただきたいことを次に示します。これらの注意を無視して、本製品を使用した場合、資産(データや
その他の装置)が破壊されるおそれがありますので必ずお守りください。
本製品は大変静電気に弱い電子部品です。ブレード収納ユニットの金属フレーム部分などに触れて身体の静電気を逃が
してから取り扱ってください。
また、本製品の端子部分や部品を素手で触ったり、直接机の上に置いたりしないでください。
本製品を落としたり物にぶつけたりしないでください、誤動作や故障するおそれがあります。
本書及び CPU ブレードのユーザーズガイドに記載されている説明をよくお読みになり、正しく取り扱ってください。
CPU ブレードのメザニン拡張スロットにうまく本製品を取り付けられないときは、いったん本製品を取り外してから取
り付けなおしてください。
過度の力を加えると破損するおそれがありますので注意してください。
本装置のそばでは携帯電話や PHS、ポケットベルの電源を OFF にしておいてください。電波による誤動作の原因とな
ります。
梱包箱の中身について
本製品には「保証書」が添付されています。「保証書」は販売店で所定事項を記入しお渡ししますので、記載内容をご確認の上、大切に
保管してください。保証期間中に故障した場合には、「保証書」の記載内容に基づき無償修理致します。保証後の修理については、ご購
入された販売店もしくはご契約されている保守サービス会社にご相談ください。
保証について

輸送について
本製品を輸送する際は、CPU ブレードから本製品を取り外し、本製品とすべての添付品を購入時の梱包箱に入れてください。
データの保管について
オペレータの操作ミス、衝撃や温度変化等による装置の故障によってデータが失われる可能性があります。万一に備えて、ハードディ
スクドライブに保存されている大切なデータは、定期的にバックアップを行ってください。
廃棄について
本製品の廃棄については、各自治体の廃棄ルールに従って分別廃棄して下さい。詳しくは、各自治体にお問い合わせ下さい。

本製品は Express5800/BladeServer シリーズ専用のブレード用メザニンカ
ードです。本製品によって CPU ブレードの LAN ポートを増設することができ
ます。
スイッチモジュールまたはスルーカードを通して、最大 10 ギガビットの伝送速
度で LAN に接続し、通信することができます。
本製品は NIC パーティショニング(NIC Partitioning ; NPAR)機能を搭載してい
ます。本機能により、OS やネットワーク機器の機能に依存することなく、物理
ポート上で複数の論理ポートを扱うことができます。本製品では物理ポートあた
り４つの論理ポートに分割しています。(NPAR 機能は一部 OS のみをサポート
します)
N8403-065 はTCP オフロードエンジン(TCP Offload Engine; TOE)機能
を搭載しています。本機能は従来 OS で処理される TCP 通信の処理を、本製品
上で処理するものです。これにより CPU ブレードの負荷を大幅に低減すること
ができます。
また、N8403-067 では TOE 機能に加えて、iSCSI オフロードエンジンを搭
載しています。TOE 機能と同様に iSCSI プロトコル処理を本製品で処理するも
のです。これにより CPU ブレードの負荷を低減することができます。

ご使用になるブレード収納ユニットのユーザーズガイ
ドを参照して、本製品を取り付けたCPUブレードをブ
レード収納ユニットに搭載してください。
インストレーションガイドを参照して、ドライバをイ
ンストールしてください。
作業 Step1 とStep2 においては次の点にご注意ください。
高温に注意する
CPU ブレードの電源を OFF にした直後は、装置内の部品が高温に
なっています。十分に冷めたことを確認してから取り付け／取り外し
を行ってください。
確実に接続する
本製品を CPU ブレードのメザニン拡張スロットに接続するときは、
確実に差し込んでネジを締めてください。完全に差し込まなかった
り、ネジを締めなかったりした場合、発煙や発火のおそれがあります。
本製品は、NPAR 機能と iSCSI オフロード機能により、複数の論理ポートを有
し、それぞれで異なる MAC アドレスが割り当てられています。MAC アドレス
ラベルに記載された基点アドレスをもとに、次のルールでアドレスが決定します。
各論理ポートの MAC アドレスは、基点アドレスに対して下表の値を加算するこ
とで導出されます。
便宜上、下表での加算値は 10 進数で記載されています。実際に使用される MAC
アドレスは 16 進数での表記となりますので、注意してください。
NPAR 機能を使用しない場合は、下表の PF 欄が 0の部分を参照して MAC
アドレスを導出してください

本体装置起動中(POST)にエラーメッセージが表示される
CPU ブレード付属のユーザーズガイドを参照してエラーメッセージの内
容を確認してください。本製品が取り付けられているスロットに原因があ
ると思われるときは、次の点について確認および対処をしてください。
□本製品を取り付けた拡張メザニンスロットで異常が発生している場合
→もう一度しっかりと本製品を接続し直してください。
本製品が正常に動作しないとき
本製品を取り付けた後、OS やアプリケーションが正常に動作しなかった
ときは、次の点について確認および対処してください。また、CPU ブレ
ードに添付のマニュアルもあわせて参照してください。
□本製品をと取り付けた CPU ブレードに、LAN ドライバはインストールさ
れていますか?また、正しくセットアップしましたか?
→CPU ブレードのインストレーションガイドを参照して、LAN ドライバ
を正しくセットアップしてください。
□本製品がメザニン拡張スロットにしっかりと接続されていますか?また、
スイッチモジュールにケーブルは正しく接続されていますか?
→もう一度確認し、接続されていない場合は、しっかりと接続しなおして
ください
□本製品を実装した CPU ブレードのメザニン拡張スロット番号、ブレード
収納ユニットのCPU ブレードの搭載位置やスイッチモジュールの搭載位
置は対応が取れていますか?
→CPU ブレード、ブレード収納ユニット、スイッチモジュールのユーザー
ズガイドを参照して、適切な搭載位置であることを確認してください。

本製品はタイプ 1、タイプ 2のメザニン拡張スロットに搭載可能です。
詳細は CPU ブレードの取り扱い説明書を参照してください。
本製品では複数の MAC アドレスが使用されます。
製品により使用する MAC アドレスの数が異なります。

N8403-067 16 個(iSCSI オフロード対応版)
MAC アドレスの付与ルールについては「MAC アドレスについて」を参照し
てください。
本製品を搭載する CPU ブレードによって、固定用ネジの使用本数が異
なりますので、ご注意ください。
セットアップ手順
本製品は 64 ビット版の OS のみサポートします。
CPU ブレードによっては、64 ビット版の OS でもサポートされる OS が異な
りますので、ご注意ください。
対応 OS については CPU ブレードのユーザーズガイドやシステム構成ガイ
ドを参照してください。
以下の OS では NPAR 機能はサポートされません。
WindowsServer2003 R2 x64 Edition
本製品は工場出荷時に NPAR 機能が「有効」に設定されていますので、上
記の OS をお使いの場合は NPAR 機能を「無効」に設定してください。
無効化の手順については、CPU ブレードに添付された以下のガイドを参照
してください。
インストレーションガイド(Windows 編)
→「セットアップ前の確認事項」
→「標準装備のネットワークアダプタ(N8403-062/064)
および N8403-065/067を使用する場合」
※上記手順を適用した後は CPUブレードの再起動が必要です。
CPU ブレードの電源が ON(POWER ランプ点灯)になっている場合は、各
OS における電源 OFF の処理を行った後、CPU ブレードの電源を OFF に
してください。
本製品の取り付け・取り外し方法は CPU ブレードにより異なりますの
で必ず CPU ブレードのユーザーズガイドをお読みください。
CPU ブレードに本製品を取り付けられないときは、一旦 本製品を取り
外してから取り付け直してください。過度の力を加えると破損するお
それがありますので注意してください。
10GbE パススルーカード等の本製品に対応するスイッチモジュール
の実装箇所に対応したメザニン拡張スロットに本製品を実装してく
ださい。
それぞれの実装箇所が対応していないと、ネットワークに接続するこ
とが出来ません。詳細についてはブレード収納ユニット、スイッチモ
ジュールの説明書をお読みください。
MAC アドレスについて
トラブルシューティング
以上の確認を行っても CPU ブレードの起動中にエラーメッセージが
表示される場合は、いったん本製品を別のメザニン拡張スロットに取
り付けた後、CPU ブレードを起動して自己診断プログラム｢POST｣の実
行で異常がないことを確認してください。POST が正常に終了するよ
うでしたら、CPU ブレードが故障していることが考えられます。CPU
ブレードを購入された販売店または保守サービス会社にご連絡くだ
さい。
以上の確認を行っても CPU ブレードが正しく動作しない場合は、いっ
たん本製品を取り外した後、CPU ブレードを起動して自己診断プログ
ラム｢POST｣の実行で異常がないことを確認してください。POST が正
常に終了するようでしたら、本製品が故障していることが考えられま
す。本製品を購入された販売店または保守サービス会社にご連絡くだ

Do not disassemble, repair, or alter this product.
Never attempt to disassemble, repair, or alter this product on any
occasion other than described in this manual. Failure to follow this
instructionmay cause an electric shock or fire as well as malfunctions of
thisproduct.
Do not use this product if any smoke, odor, or noise is
present.
If smoke, odor, or noise is present, immediately turn off the
POWER/SLEEP switch and disconnect the power plug from the outlet,
then contact your sales agent. Using this product in suchconditions may
cause afire.
Avoid installation in extreme temperature conditions.
Immediatelyaftertheserver is powered off, its internal components such
as hard disks areveryhot. Leave the server until its internal components
fullycooldownbeforeinstalling/removinganycomponent.
Connect firmly.
Please connect the product to the computer firmly. A loose connection
cancauseacontactfailureandcanleadtosmokeorfire.
Insert the power plug into the outlet as far as it goes.
Heat generation resulting from a halfway inserted power plug/cable
(imperfect contact) may cause a fire. Heat will also be generated if
condensation is formed on dusty blades of the halfway inserted plug,
increasingthepossibilityoffire.
Do not use any unauthorized interface cable.
Use only the interface cable that comes with this product. Use of an
unauthorized interface cable may cause a fire when the electric current
exceeds the rated flow. Also, observe the following to prevent an electric
shock or firecausedbya damagedcord.
- Do not useanydamagedcable.(Replaceadamagedcable with a
new one of the same specifications. Ask your sales agent for
replacement.)
- Donot stepthecable.
- Donot placeany object onthecable.
- Donotalter,modify,orrepairthecable.
Do not use or store this product in corrosive
environment.
Avoid the usage or storage of this product in an environment which may
be exposed tocorrosivegases,such as thoseincludingbut notlimitedto:
sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide, chlorine, ammonia
and/or ozone. Avoid installing this product in a dusty environment or one
that may be exposed to corrosive materials such as sodium chloride
and/or sulfur. Avoid installing this product in an environment which may
have excessive metal flakes or conductive particles in the air. Such
environments may cause corrosion or short circuits within this product,
resulting in not only damage to this product, but may even lead to be a
fire hazard. If there are any concerns regarding the environment at the

Handling precautions (for proper operations)
Note the following when you use the card. If you ignore the notes, your assets
(including importantdataand/orotherdevices)maybedamaged.
- The product is extremely sensitive to static electricity. Make sure to touch
the metal frame of the Blade Enclosure to discharge static electricity from
your body before handling the product. Do not touch the terminals or
component of the product by a bare hand and placethe product directly on
the desk.
- Donot dropthecard. Donotmakethecardhit againstotherobjects.
- Readcarefullythis GuideandtheUser'sGuideoftheCPUBladetousethe
productcorrectly.
- If the card cannot be installed inmezzanine slot of the CPU bladesecurely,
remove the card once and then install it again. Adding excess force to the
cardmay causethecard to be damaged.
- Turn off the cellular phone or pager. Radio interference may cause
malfunctions of thisproduct.
In the Package
The shipping carton contains various accessories, as well as the card itself. See
"Contents" to make surethat you have everything and that individual components
are not damaged. If you find any component missing or damaged, contact your
service representative.
Service Life
The service life of this product is five years. Ask your service representative for
replacement of thecard.
Transfer to Third Party
Make suretoprovide this manual andallthe accessories along withtheproduct to
athirdparty.
To transfer or sell any software application that comes with the product to a third
party,thefollowingrequirementsmustbesatisfied:
- All provided software applications must be transferred and no backup
copiesmustberetained.
- Softwareapplicationsmustbeuninstalledbeforetransferringtheproduct.
Transportation
To transport theproduct, remove the product from the CPUblade and put it in the
shippingcarton.
Data Backup
The device failure due to shock or thermal changes, as well as operator's
misconduct, maycauseloss of data. To avoidlossof data, NECrecommends that
youshould backupyourdataperiodically.

This product offers cost-effective networking performance with increased
bandwidth,reduced latencyandlowerCPUutilizationat10gigabitspeed.
NICPartitioning(NPAR)
Bythisfunction, without having to relyonthe abilityof a network equipment and
an OS, can handle multiple logical ports on a physical port. This product has
been dividedintofourlogical ports per physicalport.
This featureisavailableinsomeoftheOS.
TOE(TCPOffloadEngine)
TOE is atechnology used in network interfacecards (NIC) tooffload processing
of the entire TCP/IP stack to the network controller. TOE has the effect of
significantly reducingtheload ontheCPUblade.
iSCSI Offload(onlyN8403-067F)
This functionality is offloaded to the NIC the iscsiprotocol processing as well as
the TOE. Available as an iSCSI host bus adapters this, iSCSI boot will be
available.

Setup
Step1.
Attach this product to a CPU blade.
Step2.
Insert the CPU Blade to a Blade Enclosure Unit.
Step3.
Install LAN driver to the OS.

Afterapplyingthisprocedure, restart the CPUblade.
Step1 and Step2 of flow in the figure above, please be careful to work the
followingpoints
IMPORTANT:
If the CPU blade is being powered on (the POWER lamp is lit),
shutdownalltheOS,thenturnoffthepowerof theCPUblade.
NOTE:
- The installationorremoval proceduredepends on theCPU
blade type.BesuretoreadtheUser's Guideof theCPU
Blade beforestarting work.
- If thecarddoes not seemto install easily,removethecard
andtrytoreinstallitagain.Notethatexcessforcemay
cause thecardand/orconnectorto be damaged.
- Install the card in the mezzanine slot corresponding to
installation location of switch module corresponding to the
card as 10GbPass-Through Card. If installed incorrect slot,
you will fail toconnect withLAN. For more information, refer
to the manual provided with the Blade Enclosure, installed
switchmodule.
MAC Address
This product has a function of NPAR. In addition N8403-067 has the iSCSI
offload function. Therefore, this product has a more than one logical port, MAC
address differenttoeachlogical portisassigned.
Origin based on the address listed in the MAC address label, the
address isdetermined bythe followingrules.
MAC address ofeach logical port is derived byadding the base valuein
the tablebelowfor the address.
For convenience, the added values of in the table below are quoted in
decimal number. MAC address is actually used, so will be shown in a
hexadecimal number,pleasebecareful.
IMPORTANT:
If theNPARfeatureis disabled, MACaddresses whichcanbe
usedone(or two;iSCSI offloadtype)willbe per physicalport.

An error message appears while booting the server:
Refertothemanual providedwiththeCPU blade.
If the slot containing the card is assumed to be the error cause, check the
following:
An erroroccurredintheslottowhichthecardisinstalled.
Connectthecard onceagain.
NOTE:
Ifthe sameerrormessagestillappears, removethe card,
andinstall it into anothermezzanineslot. Restartthe server
andcheckthePOSTscreen.IfPOSTcompletesnormally,
the servermaybefaulty. Contact yourservice
representative.
The card does not work normally:
If the OS or the application program does not work normally after installed the
card, check the following points. See alsothe manual that comes with the CPU
blade.
Has the LAN driver been installed in the relevant CPUblade? Or, is the
CPUBladesetupcorrectly?
Referto themanualprovided withtheCPUblade.
Arethecardandcablesconnectedfirmly?
Firmlyconnectthem onceagain.
Are the mezzanine slot to which the card is installed, location of the
slot to which the CPUbladeisinstalled, and theinstallation location of
switchmodulecorrespondingto thecardsuch as10GbPass-Through
Cardisinstalled appropriate?
Refer to the manuals of the CPUBlade, Blade Enclosure, installed switch
module.
NOTE:
If the sameerror persists, removethecard, restart theCPU
blade, andcheckthePOSTscreen.IfPOSTcompletes
normally, thecardmaybefaulty. Contact yourservice
