1Installation
1 Remove the front and backside covers by removing on
each side the 4 screws.
2 Remove the 4 screws on the emergency plate on the
front side.
It is not necessary to disconnect the wirings. Depose the
plate inside the base.
3 Remove the 4 screws on the emergency plate on the
back side.
4 Disconnect the wirings on the emergency button.
5 Remove the entrance guide, removing the two screws
on the right side.

6 Remove the 2 screws on the left side.
7 Remove the small side covers on each side removing
the marked screws. The button can be removed by
turning it counter clockwise. Also on the bottom side
remove the cover.
The figure shows only one side cover.
8 Remove the 8 screws for the head-support.
The figure shows only 2 screws on one side.
9 Remove the complete head-support and depose it apart.
Attention: During transport press the two supports on
the marked side together, because the bars of the head
units get out of the fixing point.
10 Remove the 4 screws for the intake socket on the back
side of the device.
The figure shows only two screws.
11 The figure shows the open air suction channel.

12 On the front side remove the 4 screws for the cover-
plate and assemble it on the back side.
13 Unplug the connector for the motor.
14 Remove the 4 screws M8 of the support brackets at the
lower surface of the conveyor.
The figure shows only one support bracket.
Attention: Do not destroy the head of the screw;
otherwise you have to exchange it. (DIN 7984.013)
15 Disconnect the ground cable near the motor gear.
16 Now the complete transport unit can be lifted and
turned to 180°. Pay attention that the hose clip of the
motor don’t touch the frame (arrow1).
For the moment fix the 4 screws M8 loosely, at the
support bracket.
Remove the cover of the hole for the motor cable and
assemble it on the other side (arrow2).
17 Reassemble the intake socket.

18 Reassemble the complete head support with the 8
screws. Before you tight the screws make sure that the
support is on the same level as the conveyor.
The figure shows only two screws.
19 Remove the long ground cable from the original position
and connect it again on the market position and inside
on a free grounding point.
20 Reassemble both emergency plates on the front and on
the back side. Figure shows the front side.
21 A blind cover on the emergency plate may not fit.
Check point 16; the hose clip must not touch the frame.
22 Cut the blind cover on one side.
23 Assemble the aluminium profile for the light sensor bar.
With the countersunk screw fix the plate on the profile.
You will need the “Conversion kit AS-Orbit Base R2L”
P/N: 9203514T

24 Remove the existing light sensor bar and assemble it on
the new aluminium profiles. Remove two screws, the
figure shows only one removed screw.
25 The new position of the light sensor unit is on the right
side of the printer.
26 Now it’s necessary to turn the base plate of the print
units by 180°. For this we have to incline each unit with
the base plate on top. Remove the market screw.
27 The figure shows the inclined print unit. Remove the 4
screws.
Attention: Make sure the spacer underneath the base
plate don’t fall on or into the conveyor, for this cover
the transport belt with paper.
28 The figure shows the removed base plate and the
spacers.
29 Turn the base plate to 180° and reassemble the base
plate.

30 Fix the screw again. Repeat the procedure for each unit.
31 Tight the 4 M8 screws on to bottom side of the
conveyor.
Check point 16; the hose clip must not touch the frame.
32 Connect the motor cable extension on the motor and the
orange motor cable.
33 Reassemble all other parts.
34 Adjust the mechanical position of the print units.
Start with the new position for print unit1,
approximately 229mm from right side of the Mounting-
plate Unit 1 to the right edge of the aluminum profile.
In the figure the additional paper sensor unit is not
shown.
35 Important: All print units must be assembled on the
protected area on the conveyor (closed holes).

36 Check for each unit if all cartridge holder are over the
protected area.
37 Adjust the mechanical distances between each units.
The default distance is: 164.9mm or 6.49”.
38 The figure shows the print head cables.
It is necessary to interchange the head cable exits
otherwise the mechanical head movement is reduced.
The new position must be from left to right: U1, U2, U3,
U4. For this it’s necessary to open the controller.
39 Use the additional “X-encoder cable” between the
encoder connector and the encoder exit on the printer.
40 Setting in the Orbit menu:
Printer menu: Go offline and press the Home
button. Choose PRINTER CONFIG. > BOOT DEFAULTS
> TRANSP. DIRECTION > R2L
Adjust the settings PRINTER CONFIG. > DISTANCES
> DIST. TOF-U1; fine adjust the distance settings
for DIST. U1-U2/DIST. U2-U3/DIST. U3-U4.
