Quick start
The Quick Start Guide can only be used if the heat pump installation has been completed and has been properly
started and tested by the installer.
Division and description of the basic control screen
.Object part - Displays heating / cooling mode, object temperature, circulation pump run, and object status. Use the
button to switch the heating or cooling on and off .
.DHW part - Displays hot water temperature, circulation pump run, and heating conditions. The button is used to
switch on water heating.
.Overview part - It displays the values and parameters of selected temperatures, operating conditions and outdoor unit
performance. In addition, you can access the extended report by using the button, which contains multiple
values, a history of failures, measurement of supplied heat, and more. To return to the main menu, press .
.Information bar -This section shows the time and status of the machine. The right side shows whether the heat pump
is connected to the Ethernet network (ETH) and the Neota Route remote access service (CLOUD)

Basic operation of the regulator
The graphical user interface on the touch panel serves to operate the heat pump. You can access the main menu imme-
diately after turning the device on, or by pressing the Menu button. A complete description of the functions and operation is
provided in the chapter: Description of user interface (p. ).
Overview is used for basic control of the equipment, to start the heating, water heating, temperature and energy overview,
status and error messages.
Object is used for advanced setting of requirements for heating, or possibly cooling of the object.
DHW is used for advanced setting of hot water demand, its circulation and disinfection.
Charts show the progress of important temperatures
Settings is for general settings of run of the device and remote access.
Other is used to set up additional technologies such as secondary source or pool circuit.


Winter operation with water heating
On the overview screen(sekce Overview), set the icon and to "on". The "off" and "on" icon status is shown in
the image(p. ).
In the setting DHW set the required hot water temperature and delay of the supplemental electric heating according to the
table on the page . In the setting Object set the equithermal curve according to the table on the page . Then, using the
automatic equithermal curve correction, adjust the heating water temperature to your requirements.

Winter operation without water heating
On the overview screen (sekce Overview), set the icon to "on" and icon to "off". The "on" and "off" icon status
is shown in the image page .
Set the equithermal curve in the setting Object according to the table page as in the case of winter operation with hot
water heating.
�If the rooms are too hot or too cold, adjust the equithermal curve using the function
(Object Primary equithermal curve). For example, if the room temperature is higher by value 2°Cthanyouwant,
enter the value of the automatic equithermal curve correction lower by 3°C.
On the other hand, if the room temperature is lower by 1°Cthanyourequire,enterthecorrection2°C. The maximum
value of the correction is ±3°C for one setting. Remember, it will take some time for the change to take effect. In
the case of underoor heating, the time after which the room temperature changes, is about -6 hours. In the case
of radiators, this time is shorter.


.Safety instructions
.Safety warnings
Read the instructions carefully before installing, commissioning or maintaining the equipment. Compliance with
the described procedures for installation and operation of the equipment is important for years of trouble-free
operation. Failures and malfunctions that result from non-compliance with safety instructions, installation
procedures and operating rules will not be taken into account, including damage or destruction of other related
equipment. Installation of the device may only be carried out by persons with appropriate qualications in the eld
of heating, refrigeration and electrical engineering.
Furthermore, all applicable safety regulations related to the installation and operation of the NeoRé heat pump
must be observed.
The device can only be operated by a person familiar with this manual and older than  years. Persons with limited
physical, sensory and mental abilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge may only operate the equipment if
they are under the supervision of a person who is responsible for their safety or if they have been trained by that
person about safe use of the equipment and understood the risks involved. Children are not allowed to play with
the equipment or perform its cleaning and maintenance.
R refrigerant is an AL class ammable gas
The minimum oor area condition must be met to install the indoor unit. More detailed in
the Installation manual, chapter Refrigerant pipes, table Minimal oor area for AL gasses.
.Safety precautions
The heat pump is an electrical device operating at V! The appliance may only be installed and serviced by an
authorized electrician. Do not extinguish with water or foam in case of re. Use only powder or snow extinguisher!
In case of refrigerant leakage, switch off all circuit breakers located on the indoor unit and contact the service
organization indicated on the label on the indoor unit. R refrigerant is slightly ammable, non-toxic. Under no
circumstances you should try to stop the refrigerant leakage yourself. It develops very low temperatures (up to
50°C). In the event of a leak in the interior of the building, ventilate the room. In case of inhalation of refrigerant
vapours or re fumes, transport the aficted person to a ventilated place and call for medical assistance: phone
number . In case of contact with liquid refrigerant, dry the area immediately and heat with a blanket. In case
of eye contact with liquid refrigerant, rinse with plenty of lukewarm water and call for medical assistance: phone
number .

In case of re, disconnect the appliance from the power supply and extinguish with a snow or powder extinguisher.
In case of heating water leakage, switch off all circuit breakers located on the indoor unit and contact the service
organization indicated on the label on the indoor unit.
Use protective equipment (gloves, goggles, protective clothing, ...) when handling refrigerant pipes (cleaning,
maintenance, ...).
Do not put your hands or other objects in the fan area of the outdoor unit as there is a risk of serious injury!
Do not expose the airow from the outdoor unit for a longer period of time. There is a risk of severe hypothermia!
•Only install in accordance with installation manual, which you could nd on website
www.neota.eu/en/download.
•Only connect the outdoor and indoor units (refrigerant, electrical) with the material specied in installation
manual
•Installation work on the refrigerant and electrical circuit must be carried out by a person with the appropriate
authorization.
•Do not use movable leads and pipes to connect the units.
•Do not operate the device if it is not completely installed.
•Do not use refrigerant the quality and purity of which are uncertain. Observe the precautions stated on the
refrigerant packaging.
•Do not add refrigerant to increase performance.
•Always use a vacuum pump before lling the refrigerant.
•Pay attention to work safety and protective equipment during installation.
•The equipment must be installed by a specialist company authorized by the manufacturer. Do not attempt to
install the appliance by yourself. This may destroy the appliance or cause personal injury.

All parts of the refrigeration equipment such as refrigerant, oil, heat transfer uid, lter, dehydrator, insulation
material, compressor and the entire technology of the refrigerant circuit must be recovered, reused and/or
disposed of properly in the context of maintenance, repair and disposal. Maintenance and disposal must be
carried out by a person qualied to dispose of refrigerants and oils.

Used refrigerant that is not intended for reuse must be treated as waste intended for safe disposal. Emissions to
the environment must be avoided. Maintenance and disposal must be carried out by a person qualied to dispose
of refrigerants and oils.

Used oil recovered from the refrigeration equipment that cannot be regenerated must be stored in a suitable
separate container and be treated as waste intended for safe disposal. The oil must be discharged by a competent
person.

All operations connected with recuperation, refrigerant reuse and refrigerant source must be recorded in the re-
frigeration appliance log (see EN 8-clause .). If required, it must be provided by the refrigerant supplier or
service company.


�The outdoor unit must be stored and transported upright in its original packaging and properly secured, and if
necessary it must be ensured that fragile parts, especially the evaporator, are not damaged. Tipping or leakage of
refrigerant can result in danger to personal safety.
During transport, all parts of the equipment must be secured with straps or other technical means in such a way as to
avoid tipping and endangering persons.
If the refrigerant is damaged and leaks during transport, do not attempt to stop this leak in an incompetent way. Evap-
oration of the refrigerant leads to signicant cooling of the affected areas and frost burns can occur on contact with the
skin.
The outdoor unit must be stored and transported upright in its original packaging, and if necessary it must be
ensured that fragile parts, especially the evaporator, are not damaged.

.Product specications
.Intended use of the product
The NeoRé heat pump is designed for heating houses or smaller industrial buildings.
The product is intended for connection to a low temperature heating system. The ideal heating system is
mainly oor, wall and ceiling heating. The connection of classic wall radiators is possible, but it is limited by the
maximum output temperature of the heating water55°C. (60°CforHPversion)ButCOP(efciency)isworseat
this temperature). The heat pump can also be used for cooling. For cooling, the output temperature is limited
to above the condensation temperature. The heat pump is not suitable for the use of cooling with cooling water
temperature below the condensation temperature, e.g. fan coils. Condensation and damage to the interior of
the indoor unit occurs as a result. Suitable cooling systems are cooling ceilings where condensation does not occur.
Read the instructions carefully before installing, commissioning or maintaining the equipment. Compliance with
the described procedures for installation and operation of the equipment is important for years of trouble-free oper-
ation. Failures and malfunctions that result from non-compliance with safety instructions, installation procedures

.Connection to the distribution grid
The NeoRé heat pump is designed for preferential tariffs for electricity distributors, either a heat pump tariff or a
direct heating tariff.
Prior to connecting to the distribution grid, authorization of the relevant distribution plant must be issued.
.Package contents
By default, the NeoRé heat pump is supplied on a wooden pallet to which it is fastened with screws. The protective frame
ensures greater safety during transportation of the product. The following components are included in each package of the
indoor unit:
•heat pump NeoRé, indoor unit IUTX6-8, outdoor unit OU GMx or OU GPx
•user manual
•outdoor temperature sensor
•hot water temperature sensor
•object temperature sensor (optional)

The indoor unit is stationary for oor mounting. Its position in the room must be chosen so that free access to the control
and protection elements is possible when servicing. More picture below the text.
The centre is a quality exchanger coolant / water that provides heat transfer to the heating system. An essential
part is an elaborate Teco regulator with sophisticated software that controls not only the heat pump itself, but also ensures
thermal comfort inside your building. It provides cascade regulation of the heat pump together with a bivalent source, which
switches the bivalent source on in two stages, if the performance of heat pump is insufcient. The NeoRé heat pump can
also run with other heat sources and multiple heating circuits. All this is ensured by safety, measuring and control elements.


For comfortable and convenient operation, the NeoRé heat pump also offers the possibility to connect via a web browser
from a computer, mobile phone or tablet, even remotely thanks to the Neota Route service.

.Description of the outdoor unit
The outdoor unit is made of sheet steel with high-quality anti-corrosive nish by electrostatic powder coating. The heart
is a DC inverter compressor, a progressive innovation in the eld of heat pumps, a guarantee of reliability and long life. It
also contains an evaporator with anti-corrosion coating. Variable speed fans ensure the air ow through the evaporator
and ensure the lowest noise level possible. The outdoor unit also includes an electronically controlled expansion valve,
controlling electronics and measuring elements.

.How it works and its proper use
.The principle of the heat pump function
The basic prerequisite for the operation of a heat pump is a heat transfer medium that has suitable properties for changing
the state of matter at a given pressure and temperature. All these basic components are outlined in the gure below -

In the rst phase, the refrigerant passes through the expansion valve where the pressure drops. The refrigerant enters the
air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger and changes to gaseous state. This gives the refrigerant energy from the air. The refrigerant
continues through the pipe to the compressor where it is compressed. This translates it into a higher temperature level. The
last phase is the transfer of the obtained energy to the heating circuit in the coolant-water exchanger. Here, the gaseous
refrigerant condenses and transfers its energy to the heating medium. Subsequently, the liquid refrigerant again passes
through the expansion valve and is again vaporized in the air-refrigerant exchanger.
.Hot water heating systems
This section contains general facts and recommendations about heating systems. It is not sufcient to design a
heating system accordingly. This must always be designed by an experienced professional. Likewise, the choice
of performance and type of heat pump must be done on the basis of the buildings heat loss calculation made by
the expert.
The NeoRé heat pump is designed for hot water heating systems. For this reason, the following paragraphs describe
some of them. The characteristics of the individual heating systems vary, so they must be taken into account when choosing
a heat pump, whether it is for a new or an existing heating system. In general, however, we can say that in a heating system
we try to maximize the surface area of the heater and thereby reduce the heating water temperature necessary for transfer
of the required amount of energy.


..Low temperature heating system
An example of a low temperature heating system is:
•oor heating
•ceiling heating / cooling
•wall heating
Large area radiant systems are most suitable for use with a heat pump. A heat pump is most effective with these systems
and its lifetime is higher. They are also the most comfortable type of heating for living rooms.
With these systems, it is possible to induce a natural thermal comfort and avoid heat layering and large heat differences
upwards, as is the case with traditional convective heating systems.
..High temperature heating system
Examples of a high temperature heating system are:
•radiators
•fan coils
This type of heating is less advantageous in use with a heat pump, but is still usable. A small radiant area of radiator
plates and a thus higher heating medium temperature requirement reduces the efciency of the heat pump. The maximum
heating water temperature applicable to radiators is 55°C(60°C for HP type. In the case of continuous use of maximum
temperatures, the life of the product may be reduced.
.The cooling system
The heat pump can also be used for cooling. For cooling, the output temperature is limited to above the condensation
temperature of the given environment. The heat pump is not suitable for cooling with cooling water temperature below the
condensation temperature, e.g. fan coils. Condensation and damage to the interior of the indoor unit occurs as a result.
Suitable cooling systems are cooling ceilings where condensation does not occur.
.The correct principles of using a heat pump
A heat pump is a low temperature heat source that pumps heat energy between two temperature levels. Physical princi-
ples state that the more these levels differ, the more energy must be put into the process. To increase the efciency of the
heat pump, these levels need to be as close as possible.
In practice, this means that we must keep the heating water temperature as low as possible and the outdoor air tem-
perature as high as possible. The outside air temperature can only be controlled by correct placement of the outdoor unit
providing sufcient air supply (beware of installation on enclosed yards, in valleys, etc.). The heating water temperature can
only be controlled by the correct design and use of the heating system.
It is more advantageous to use the heat pump continuously at a lower heating water temperature than occasionally
at a higher temperature where the heat pump operation becomes less efcient


.Description of the user interface
Before you make any changes to your device settings, read carefully what each feature means and what the settings
inuence. Improper adjustment can result in uncomfortable and uneconomical operation, resulting in unnecessary
wear and tear on the appliance and more expensive operation.
.Home screen
To control, start, stop and set the heat pump, use the touch screen in front of the product cover. Home screen (g. .p.
) offers six icons, each of which is used to control or set some of the heat pump functions.
Overview is used for basic control of the equipment, to start the heating, water heating, temperature and energy overview,
status and error messages.
Object is used for advanced setting of requirements for heating, or possibly cooling of the object.
DHW is used for advanced setting of hot water demand, its circulation and disinfection.
Charts shows the progress of important temperatures.
Settings is for general settings of operation of the device and remote access.
Other is used to set up additional technologies such as secondary source or pool circuit.

�The sections and are only shown if relevant temperature sensors are connected. That is, the domes-
tic hot water temperature sensor for the section and at least one of the temperature sensors of the storage
tank or a pool for section
�The display elements that can be used to change the values, turn the function on or off, or refer to the next page
have an orange background. When an element is pressed, the referenced page is displayed, or a panel for variables
editing is displayed that dynamically changes according to their type.


.Overview
Overview screen (g. .p. ) is divided into four columns.
In the rst column on the left, the top section shows the heating mode using a colour bar, red stands for heating, blue for
cooling. Furthermore, the current heating water temperature is displayed and the circulation pump run is depicted by means
of a triangular pictogram. At the bottom, there is a control button to start the device. If the rectangle in the upper right is
shown on orange background, the device is in operation mode, if the rectangle is grey, the function is disabled.
The second column in the upper part shows the current domestic hot water (DHW) temperature and a button for switching
DHW on and off in the lower part. As with the operation button, there is a signal rectangular.
The third column shows the list of the most important temperatures and performance of the circulation pump. Press
button to go to the next screen where you can see more detailed list of current temperatures and other status
values of the device.
In the fourth column, the upper part shows whether a heat pump, a bivalent or a secondary source are being used for
heating, a percentage of the actual heat pump capacity, or other details of the current operation mode. The button in
the bottom is used to return to the home screen.
The upper bar on the left displays the time. There may be two text abbreviations on the right. If appears, it means
that the cloud service of remote access Neota Route is activated. If appears, the device is connected to an Ethernet
network and it can be controlled within the local net via a computer, smart phone or a tablet.

Menu screen (g. .p. 6) is used for a detailed listing of scanned data about the device and its operation.
The top left part shows information about the second circuit, storage tank and pool. In the left middle section, the out-
door unit operation data is displayed. The data displayed on the right is identical to the overview screen. The meaning of
each abbreviation is explained in the chapter ..(p. ). You can access other screens using the buttons and


Energy screen (g. .p. 6) shows in its left part the quantities needed to calculate the current delivered performance,
the current delivered performance and also the counter of total energy supplied. This counter can be reset with the button
, e.g. before the beginning of the heating season.
Again, the right side of the screen is identical to the previous window.

�If the current performance value is negative, it means that heat is being taken from the object. This is commonly
the case, for example, when defrosting the outdoor unit, where an ice layer is formed on the evaporator and must be
removed to maintain good heat transfer. This is achieved by taking part of the energy from the object and heating
the evaporator up.
Status and Error Screen (g. .p. ) shows the history of the last ten recorded problems on the left. You can delete
the error history table by pressing . Therefore, the data will be deleted from the screen, but the complete
operation data record will remain stored and accessible from the web browser in the device settings.
The top right part of the screen displays the last failure that has occurred. Below, in the white window, failures that
have occurred and then subsided are listed. After correcting the failure, the device returns to normal operation via func-
tionautoreset. However, it will resume operation up to times at most. If the failure occurs multiple times, it is likely that this
is a more serious problem that needs to be eliminated. You can reactivate or deactivate this feature by using the
button.

Under no circumstances may the stored operating data be deleted or modied. The data record is used to analyse
the operation and failures of the device. Damage or deletion of records may affect the recognition of claims.
..The meaning of graphic symbols and text abbreviations
Operation of the heat pump - heat pump is used for heating / cooling / DHW heating.
Operation of the secondary source - secondary source is used for heating, heat pump is used for DHW
Defrosting - outdoor unit defrosting (exchanger of the outdoor unit is defrosting), heating / cooling / DHW heat-
ing is interrupted
Outside air temperature is too low - outside temperature is lower than allowed working temperature, heating and
DHW is fully provided by the bivalent source (integrated electric boiler)
Economical operation - icon is displayed when the outlet water temperature is lower than 45°C and outdoor unit
performance is less than %
DHW heating is blocked by a time program - in the DHW section DHW Time program DHW heating is not
allowed at this time
Antilegionella - DHW tank starts electric heating for elimination of legionella (disinfection of the hot water tank
by temperature 60°C)
Protection of the outdoor units heat exchanger from damage - shutting off the outdoor unit for  minutes during
defrosting or low water ow in the inner unit.


Attenuation - attenuation is active, parameters can be set in the section 
Higher tariff - operation of the device is blocked due to high electricity tariff
DHW heatling - the DHW tank is being heated by the heat pump
DHW suppl. el. heating - the DHW tank is being heated by an electric heater
Drying - active mode of oor drying
Pool heating - the pool circuit is being heated by the heat pump

The right side of the screen (g. .6 p. ) is reserved for navigation. Use the buttons
ntext ,and to browse through each section window. There is a scroll bar next to the arrows to
indicate which screen of the section is currently being displayed. This way of navigation is common to all sections.
Activating results in that heating / cooling of the object runs only at times of low tariff.
To use this item, it is necessary to have a two-tariff electricity meter and a signalisation wire for remote control must be
connected to the blue XNS terminal in the indoor unit of the device.
switches the operation mode of the heat pump. Red colour of the switch is red indicates
heating mode. The blue colour of the switch indicates cooling mode.
If information about temperature inside the object should be used to control the temperature of the object, it is necessary
to rst mount an internal temperature sensor and then activate the item .
If an indoor temperature sensor is used and activated, it is possible to enter the desired temperature of the object by
clicking on the item numbers .
Clicking on numbers and items enables to set the desired cooling water temperature.

The rst item of the second screen (g. .p.  ) is . The set value is directly applied
to the calculated output water value. Therefore, it is increased or decreased by this value. The correction serves for fast and
short-term adjustment of the output water temperature at sudden temperature uctuations in the building due to, for exam-
ple, high concentrations of people, solar gains or strong winds. For long-term treatment of the heating water temperature
it is necessary to change the values of the equithermal curve that serves as the base for calculation of the temperature of
heating water.
Item is only available when an indoor temperature sensor is connected. The set value of
the coefcient expresses the allowed volume of automatic interventions to the heating water temperature.
The item shows the current calculated and applied correction value for the output heating water.
The correction value is determined by the formula:
IQ correction = - ((T object current - T object required) x IQ correction coef.) + T calculated using equit. curve
�Thus, if the object temperature is 22.8°C, the required temperature 22°C, coefcient of IQ correction equals , and
temperature of output water calculated using the eqithermal curve is 23°C, then the true output water temperature
after IQ correction will be: - (( ,8 -  ) x ) +  =-(,8 x ) +  = - ,6 +  =21.4°C


The speed of reaction to temperature changes is related to the intervention size allowed (the volume of the pre-
set coefcient). Higher coefcient means faster reaction, but too high a value can cause unpleasant temperature
uctuations.
Item shows the current calculated output water temperature. Click the orange square to get
to the next screen where the equithermal curve can be edited.
Item as well as the previous item shows the temperature calculated using the eq-
uithermal curve for the second circuit (if it is connected) and using the orange square enables to get to its setting.
The item enables to move to the screen with the table of attenuation.
�The equithermal curve describes the object and must be set correctly for each object.
Equithermal curve says what temperature the heating water must have in order to keep the temperature in the
object constant during changes of the outside temperature. At higher outdoor temperatures, a lower heating water
temperature is sufcient to maintain the same temperature in the building. This brings signicant savings in con-
nection with the heat pump that loses efciency with rising heating water temperature. Equit. regulation provides
a comfortable temperature in living rooms in the form of a stable temperature without uctuations.

The following four items serve to set individual points of the equithermal curve. The curve is set using
the four signicant points that are shown in the graph in the chart in the image (obr . ). These points are individual for
each object, but the default settings can be made according to the following table. Individual values are entered by clicking
on the orange rectangle, entering a numeric value, and then pressing Enter to conrm.

