1. INTRODUCTION
Dear customers,
We are pleased that you have chosen a roll cutter from Neschen and hope that you
will increase your productivity with this machine. This electrically driven device is
equipped with rotating axes and moving components, so occupational safety
principles must be observed.
Before putting the Neschen roll cutter into operation, the user (the company) must
ensure that all operators of the unit, maintenance personnel and their supervisors
have familiarized themselves with these operating instructions. Furthermore, it must
be ensured that the generally binding regulations on occupational safety and accident
prevention of the user's respective country are known. The operating instructions
must be available to the employees using the roller cutter at all times. Improper
operation may result in damage not covered by the product warranty.
These operating instructions contain the technical specifications of the rotary cutter
as well as information on commissioning and operation. The important information on
work safety and maintenance is to be considered as part of the roll cutter. Employees
in production should be familiarized with and understand the information in these
operating instructions. In particular, information regarding safety measures must be
observed. To ensure a satisfactory level of knowledge, refresher training should be
provided on a regular basis after familiarization.
If you do not understand individual pieces of information in these operating
instructions, please contact the responsible salesperson. We recommend that you
make a copy of this manual and keep the original in a safe place in case the copy is
lost or damaged. Follow the safety instructions while working on the machine to avoid
your own injuries or injuries to bystanders or damage to other equipment.
We assure you that we are attentive and careful in the production of the Neschen roll
cutter and we are convinced that, provided that all the guidelines have been followed,

2. APPLICATIONS
1. The Neschen roll cutter for large formats is suitable for cutting roll material with
a max. width of 1650mm and a diameter of 200mm.
2. The Neschen roll cutter for large formats is suitable for cutting roll material with
a max. width of 1650 mm and a diameter of 300 mm.
3. Any modifications to the roll cutter without the manufacturer's approval
exempts the seller from liability for any damage or injury!
4. If features of the roll cutter permit use for other purposes not listed herein, the
user shall consult such applications with the vendor.
5. Follow the safety instructions while working on the machine to avoid your own
injuries or injuries to bystanders

3. DESCRIPTION OF THE MAIN PARTS OF THE NESCHEN ROLL CUTTER
Emergency stop switch Knife carriage
Emergency STOP switch - if the emergency STOP switch is actuated, the machine
switches off completely. Depending on the circumstance, you can turn the
machine on again. The emergency STOP switch is deactivated by turning (or
pressing - depending on the system used).

5. MAIN SWITCH - POSITIONS
OFF - the roll cutter is switched off.
ON - the roll cutter is switched on.
6. DISPLAY FUNCTIONS
SPEED -controls the rotation of the winding axis or cut-off axis
WIDTH/ LENGTH -select the desired function.
Width= Width measurement Length= Length measurement
ZERO- – Zeros of the width or length measurement
7. Material axis- cutting to length
Laminating and printing materials are rolled on a paper core with an inner
diameter of 76.2 mm. The shafts of the Neschen roll cutter are designed for these
cores.
If the material is unrolled too loosely or too tightly, the braking force can be
adjusted by tightening or loosening the brake on the right side of the machine.
Tightening the brake increases the braking force and loosening it decreases it.

8. APPLYING A ROLL OF MATERIAL TO THE SHAFT
1. Unlock the shaft on the right side.
2. Insert the roll of material into the shaft. Heavy rolls should be inserted by
two people.
3. Lock the shaft back into the machine.
4. Tighten the cap nut, thus tensioning the expanders so that the core is held in place.

9. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
SAFETY DEVICES ON THE NESCHEN ROLL CUTTER:
•Emergency STOP switch - 1 unit

THE FOLLOWING POINTS MUST BE OBSERVED
WHEN USING THE NESCHEN ROLL CUTTER:
•Do not use the roll cutter if there is a design or mechanical fault;
•Do not use the roll cutter under alcohol. Being under the influence of drugs
or medication, as your reaction time and attention may be impaired;
•Do not switch on the roll cutter if unauthorized persons are within the
danger zone;
•Remove waste from the hazardous area while the rotary cutter is in
operation;
•Do not touch any moving parts;
•Always remain at the control panel while the roll cutter is in operation;
•Do not remove any safety devices from the roll cutter and do not impair
their function;
•No maintenance or cleaning work during operation;
•Always observe the safety instructions - see under Safety instructions.
10. SAFETY GUIDELINES
Rotating or moving parts of the roll cutter and electrical parts can cause serious and
even fatal injuries. Installation, wiring and commissioning as well as maintenance and
repairs should only be carried out by qualified and appropriately trained personnel.
•The roll cutter may only be operated by mentally and physically healthy
persons over the age of 18 who have been intensively trained (and tested)
and are authorized to operate the roll cutter.
•Demanding repairs and work on the electrical system may only be carried
out by qualified personnel or the manufacturer.
•Operators and maintenance personnel must be familiar with the contents of
the operating instructions.
•Adjustments, maintenance and cleaning of the roll cutter must be carried
out when the machine is not in operation. The main switch is switched off
and the machine is disconnected from the power supply.
•Start the roll cutter only when the covers are in place.

•Never touch moving parts on the roll cutter.
•Attach safety instructions - pictograms - to the roll cutter so that they are clearly legible.
•Only work in good lighting.
•Before starting work, check the safety devices on the roll cutter and ensure
that they are functioning correctly.
•Do not work on the roll cutter if you are tired.
•Damaged parts on the roll cutter may only be replaced by authorized
personnel. Only use original parts.
•Turn off the roll cutter in case of strong vibration, noise or other unusual
signs and inform the supervisor.
•Do not wear loose clothing (e.g. a tie) or long hair to prevent them from
getting caught between rotating parts of the roll cutter.
•Always stand firmly on the floor when working on the roll cutter.
•Take special care after switching on and starting up the roll cutter.
•Switch off the machine immediately and inform the supervisor if, while
working on the roll cutter, damage to the insulation, a burning smell or a
loud disturbing noise occurs, the machine jerks after switching on, individual
parts on the electrical system are overheated, sparks occur or electric
current can be felt.
•If such hazards occur or if there is danger to the operator, switch off the roll
cutter by pressing the emergency STOP switch.
•If someone recognizes that the operator of the roll cutter is in danger, they
can press the emergency STOP switch.
11. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ON THE NESCHEN ROLL CUTTER
The pictograms must be clearly legible on the CUTTER at all times.
Damaged pictograms must be replaced.

risks, as do the warnings in this operating manual.

12. FIRE PROTECTION
Since the roll cutter is not equipped with fire extinguishers at the factory, the
user must ensure that fire extinguishers are available in the relevant building.
•Never extinguish a burning or energized roll cutter with a water or a foam
extinguisher. There is a risk of electric shock!
•Never extinguish burning electrical parts with a water extinguisher!
•Recommended fire extinguishers: Powder extinguishers, snow
extinguishers and halon extinguishers.
•In case of fire, follow the instructions for the corresponding workplace.
13. DISPOSAL OF THE MACHINE OR INDIVIDUAL PARTS
•For the disposal of the roll cutter at the end of its service life, the applicable
environmental protection guidelines must be followed and available
recycling options must be used.
•Separate plastic parts and send them for recycling.
•Separate and sort metal parts and dispose of them as scrap metal.
14. MAINTENANCE
1. Neschen roll cutters are stable and durable and require little maintenance.
For trouble-free use and a long service life, the following must be observed:

15. WARRANTY CONDITIONS
1. The manufacturer provides a warranty period of 12 months from the date of
sale for Neschen products.

the operating instructions is not considered a product defect.

4. Furthermore, mechanical damage, falling over, impact, transport damage,
etc. caused by unauthorized interference with the electrical or mechanical
parts or foreign objects inside the product are not considered product
defects.
5. Normal wear and tear due to the use of the machine is also not considered
a product defect.
