period. Disconnect by pulling out
the plug and not by pulling the

socket and let the appliance cool

Avoid possible harm when

descaling: descaling pipe and milk
spout. Use handles or knobs.
• If coee volumes higher than
150 ml are programmed: let the
machine cool down for 5 minutes
before making the next coee. Risk
of overheating!
•Water could ow around a capsule
when not perforated by the blades
and damage the appliance.
• Never use a damaged or deformed
capsule. If a capsule is blocked in
the capsule compartment, turn the
machine o and unplug it before
any operation. Call the Nespresso
Club or Nespresso authorized
representative.
• Always ll the water tank with cold,
fresh drinking water.
• Empty water tank if the appliance
will not be used for an extended
time (holidays, etc.).
• Replace water in water tank when
the appliance is not operated for a
weekend or a similar period of time.
• Do not use the appliance without
the drip tray and drip grid to avoid
spilling any liquid on surrounding
surfaces.
• Do not use any strong cleaning
agent or solvent cleaner. Use a
damp cloth and mild cleaning agent
to clean the surface of the appliance.
•To clean machine, use only clean
cleaning tools.
•When unpacking the machine,
remove the plastic lm and dispose.
•This appliance is designed for
Nespresso coee capsules available
exclusively through the Nespresso
Club or your Nespresso authorized
representative.
• All Nespresso appliances pass
stringent controls. Reliability tests
under practical conditions are
performed randomly on selected
units.This can show traces of any
previous use.

Switch the machine on.
Blinking light: heating up for approximately
40 sec. Steady light: ready.
Refer to the button indications on page 4.
Rinse the Rapid Cappuccino System (R.C.S.) by
following the section «Care of the Rapid Cappuccino
System (R.C.S.) twice a week», page 14.
The water tank can be carried
by its cover.
Remove the water tank, drip tray, and
capsule container. Adjust the cable
length and store the excess in the cable
guide under the machine.
Remove the plastic lm from both the left and
right grid, and machine panels.
Put the machine in the upright position and plug
it into the mains.
Rinse the water tank before lling with potable
water up to the maximum level.
Rinsing: place a container under the coee outlet
and press the Lungo button. Repeat three times.
Machines are fully tested after being
produced. Some traces of coee powder could be
found in the rinsing water.

Press the Espresso (40 ml) or the Lungo
(110 ml) button. Preparation will stop
automatically. To stop the coee ow or top
up your coee, press again.
Take the cup. Lift and close the lever to eject
the capsule into the used capsule container.
COFFEE PREPARATION/
For a Latte Macchiato glass, push the drip tray
inside the machine.
Lift the lever completely and insert the
capsule. Close the lever and place a cup under
the coee outlet.
Remove the milk spout by
pulling it o.
Remove the milk froth regulator knob by
turning it to ( ) and pulling it up.
Remove the milk container lid and unplug the
milk aspiration tube.
Unlock and remove the Rapid Cappuccino System
connector by turning it from ( ) to ( ) and
pulling it o.

PREPARING A CAPPUCCINO AND LATTE MACCHIATO/
Fill the milk container with your desired quantity
of milk.
When the milk container is empty, before
relling, thoroughly rinse it and the milk aspiration
tube with potable water.
Lift the lever completely and insert the
capsule.
Close the milk container. Open the steam
connector door by sliding it to the right.
Connect the Rapid Cappuccino System to the
machine. Milk recipe buttons blink: the Rapid
Cappuccino heats up. Steady light: ready.
Close the lever, place a Cappuccino cup or a
Latte Macchiato glass under the coee outlet
and adjust the position of the milk spout.
Adjust the milk froth regulator knob according
to the quantity of froth you want.
Rinse after each use as described in the section
«Rinsing after each milk recipe preparation».
At the end of the preparation, lift and close the
lever to eject the capsule into the used capsule
container.
Press the Cappuccino or Latte Macchiato button.
The preparation starts after a few seconds (rst
milk and then coee) and will stop automatically.
For perfect milk froth, use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk at refrigerator

Place a container under the milk spout.
Remove the drip tray, capsule container and water tank. Empty and rinse. Both left and right
grid can be removed for easy cleaning. Clean the coee outlet regularly with a damp cloth.
Clean all components in the upper level
of a dishwasher at least twice a week.
Disconnect the R.C.S. from the machine and place
it in the refrigerator. Close the machine steam
connector door.
This milk should not be kept for more than
2 days.
Press and hold the «CLEAN» button until
machine stops pumping automatically.
Milk recipe buttons blink: rinsing process
approximately 10 sec.
Steady light: rinsing process nished.
All the milk container components are
dishwasherproof. Twice a week, follow the section
«Care of Rapid Cappuccino System twice a week».
Disassemble the Rapid Cappuccino

Do not use any strong cleaning agent or solvent cleaner.
Use a damp cloth and mild cleaning agent to clean the surface

Switch on the machine.

Press and hold the Lungo button and switch the
machine on.

Remove the water tank. Close the lever (without

When the process is nished, the machine switches

This machine has an excellent energy consumption prole as well as an automatic power o function (0 W) which enables you to save energy. The appliance switches o 9 minutes after the last use.

DESCALING/
Empty the drip tray and the used capsule
container. Fill the water tank with 100 ml of
Nespresso descaling agent and 500 ml water.
Open the descaling pipe storage door. Plug the
descaling pipe into the steam connector.
The machine enters the descaling mode (70° C
setting). Cappuccino button blinks orange.
Descale the machine when the Cappuccino button
shines orange in ready mode (descaling alert).
Place a minimum 1 litre container under both
the coee outlet and descaling pipe nozzle.
When the descaling cycle is nished (water tank
runs empty), the Cappuccino button blinks.
Press the Cappuccino button. The descaling
agent ows alternately through the coee
outlet, descaling pipe and drip tray. The
Cappuccino and Macchiato button blink
alternatively.
Empty the used capsule container and drip tray,
rinse and ll the water tank with fresh potable
water up to the MAX level. Repeat step 5 again.

Nespresso guarantees this product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase and Nespresso requires presentation of the original
proof of purchase to ascertain the date. During the warranty period, Nespresso will either repair or replace, at its discretion, any defective product at no charge to the owner. Replacement products or repaired parts
will be warranted only for the unexpired portion of the original warranty or six months, whichever is greater. This limited warranty does not apply to any defect resulting from negligence, accident, misuse, or
any other reason beyond Nespresso’s reasonable control, including but not limited to: normal wear and tear, negligence or failure to follow the product instructions, improper or inadequate maintenance, calcium
deposits or descaling, connection to improper power supply, unauthorized product modication or repair, use for commercial purposes, re, lightning, ood or other external causes. This warranty is valid only
in the country of purchase or in such other countries where Nespresso sells or services the same model with identical technical specications. Warranty service outside the country of purchase is limited to the
