基本設定
本書ならびに各マニュアルの
内容に従い、ReadyNAS 本体
をご利用ください。本書の説
明は、工場出荷時の X-RAID2TM ディスク構成を使用し、少なくとも 1 台のディス
クがインストールされていることを前提としています。
注意 :ディスクの搭載されていない本体をお買い上げの場合、本書の説明に沿って
操作する前に、少なくとも 1 台のディスクをインストールする必要があります。対
応ディスクの一覧については、ハードウェア互換性リスト
(http://www.readynas.com/ja/?cat=37) をご覧ください。ディスクのインストールに
関する詳細は、本体のハードウェアマニュアルをご覧ください。

本体のセットアップ
1. 適切な通気を確保できる場所に本体を置いてください。
大容量ディスクは高い熱を発するため、通気孔がふさがらないようにご注意く
ださい。
2. 電源アダプタは本体背面に接続し、ケーブルの反対側の端を壁のコンセントや
延長コードに差し込んでください。
3. イーサネットケーブルで ReadyNAS のLAN1 イーサネットポートとネット
ワークをつなぎます。
4. 必要に応じて、電源ボタンを押して本体の電源を入れます。
起動には 1分程度かかります。DHCP でIP アドレスを取得します。
5. ReadyNAS と同じローカルネットワーク (LAN) に接続されているコンピュー
タに、RAIDar ユーティリティをインストールし、実行します。
RAIDar は本体付属の
リソース CD に含まれています。Windows、Mac、Linux
OS バージョンの RAIDar があります。また、http://www.readynas.com/ja/?cat=41
から入手することもできます。
RAIDar は自動的にネットワーク上の ReadyNAS を検出します。
6. ［設定］ボタンをクリックします。
SSL 認証の警告画面が表示されます。これは、インターネット上に公開されてい
るウェブサーバで用いられている公的な電子証明書を、ReadyNAS が持っていな
いためです。ReadyNAS の管理画面はウェブ技術を利用しており、ウェブブラウ
ザからはウェブサーバと認識されるため、このメッセージが表示されます。
LAN 内で使用する ReadyNAS の場合、公的な電子証明書は必要ありません。こ
のメッセージを表示しないようにする方法は、http://www.NETGEAR.jp の技術
情報を参照してください。
7. この認証に同意し、先に進みます。
ログイン画面が表示されます。
8. ユーザ名に admin と入力し、パスワードに password と入力して、［OK］ボ
タンを押してください。
パスワードは、ReadyNAS の初期設定時に変更する必要があります。
変更したパスワードを、下記のボックスに書き留めておくこともできます。
ここにパスワードを記入する場合、本ガイドは安全な場所に保管してください。
9. ウィザードの指示に従い、初期設定を完了します。
パスワードを忘れた場合
パスワードを忘れてしまった場合は、初期設定で決めたパスワード復元の質問を
使って、パスワードを復元することができます。
1. ウェブブラウザで https://<IP_address>/password_recovery にアクセスします。
<IP_address> の部分に ReadyNAS 本体の IP アドレスを入力します。
2. パスワード復元の質問に答えます。
新しいパスワードが初期設定時に指定したメールアドレス宛に送信されます。

Installation Guide

Thank you for purchasing this NETGEAR product.
You need the following items
from your package to set up
your ReadyNAS® unit.
1. ReadyNAS unit
2. Resource CD
3. Power adapter

Basic Setup
Follow these instructions to begin using your ReadyNAS unit. These instructions
assume that the unit is using the factory default X-RAID2TM disk configuration and
that at least one disk is installed.

Note: If you have a diskless unit, you must install at least one disk before following
these instructions. For a list of supported disks, see the Hardware Compatibility List
at http://readynas.com/hcl. For information about installing disks, see the hardware
manual for your unit.
To set up your unit:
1. Place the unit in a location that provides adequate ventilation.
High capacity disks can produce considerable heat. It is important to ensure
that the fan exhausts are unobstructed.
2. Connect the power adapter to the back of the unit and plug the other end into
a wall outlet or power strip.
3. Use an Ethernet cable to connect the LAN1 Ethernet port on the ReadyNAS to
your network.
4. If necessary, press the Power button to turn the unit on.
It takes about a minute to start up. The IP address is retrieved using DHCP.
5. Install and run the RAIDar utility on a computer that is connected the same
local area network (LAN) as your ReadyNAS unit.
RAIDar is located on the Resource CD that came with your unit. It includes
versions for the Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. It is also available
at http://readynas.com/start.
RAIDar automatically detects your ReadyNAS unit on the network.
6. Click the Setup button.
An SSL certificate security warning displays. This is used to ensure an
encrypted authentication and management session to the ReadyNAS and will
not appear again from the same browser.
7. Accept the certificate.
A login prompt displays.
8. Enter admin for the user name and password for the password and click the
OK button.
A configuration wizard displays. You must change the administrator’s password
during the inital configuration process.

9. Follow the wizard’s prompts to complete the initial configuration.
To recover a lost password:
If you lose your password, you can recover it using the password recovery question
you provided during initial setup.
1. Using your browser, visit https://<IP_address>/password_recovery.
Replace <IP_address> with the IP address of your ReadyNAS unit.
2. Answer your password recovery question.
A new password is mailed to the email address you provided.

use it to register your product at http://www.NETGEAR.com/register. Registration is
required before you can use the telephone support service. NETGEAR strongly
recommends using this website to register your product.
