Safety Instructions
1. Make surethe powersource conforms totheelectricalrequirementsofthisunit
(AC120V/60Hz).
2. Donotoperatethisappliance ifithas adamaged cord or plug.If the power cordor plug is
damaged,it mustbereplaced by the manufactureroran authorized servicefacilityinorder to
reduce the risk offire.
3. When notinuse,disconnectthe plug from thepoweroutlet.Whendisconnecting theplug
from the outlet, grasp the plug and notthemainpowercord.Be sure todrainthewater out
of thetank when not inusefor aprolongedperiod oftime.
4. Donot disassembleor alter the unit.
5. Donotuse the unitinareas withextremelyhigh or lowtemperatures (exceeding 50 or
below0),or whereit maybe exposedtodirect sunlight.
6. Topreventwater fromsplashing out ofthetank,use carewhen movingthe unit if it isfull.
7. Donot operatethe unit nearflammableliquids or inpotentiallydangerous locations.
8. Donot putheavyobjectson the unit as thismay causedamages or unit malfunction.
9. Thisapplianceisnotintended for usebypersons (including children) withreduced physical,
sensory ormentalcapabilities,orlack ofexperience andknowledge,unless they havebeen
given supervision or instruction concerning itsuse byaperson responsiblefor theirsafety.
10. Children shouldbe supervised toensurethey do notplay withthe appliance.
11. Before filling the unitwithwater,make sure the unitisswitched offand unpluggedfromthe
poweroutlet. Also make sure thewater levelisbelowthe MAX line indicator.
12. Switchtheunit off andunplug it before cleaning it or performing any maintenance.
13. Because thisappliance addsmoisture tothe air,toavoidexcessivehumidity,do notuse itfor
an extended period oftime insmall, enclosed areas.

14. Change the water frequentlyinorder tokeep it clean.
15. Thisunit mustbe operatedinan upright position and on aflat, levelsurface.
16. Donot operatethe unit inwet ordamp locations.
17. Donot install the unit inasmall, confined space such asacloset orcabinet.
18. DISPOSAL: Donotdispose ofthisproductas unsorted municipalwaste.It
may be necessary tohaveit collected separatelyforspecialtreatment.

1. Thisunit shouldnot be repaired or servicedby anyone exceptaspecialized technician.

Using the Remote Control:
Use the remotecontrol
within19 feet(6 meters) fromtheunit.
If the remotecontroldoes notwork from
ashortdistance away, try replacing
the batteries.Donot allowchildren to
play withtheremotecontrol.

BeforeOperating theUnit
1. Pull outthe water tankand fill itwithwater beforeoperating thefan(see Figure 3).Donot
pour water above40 intothe watertank.
2. For enhanced cooling,ice can be added tothe ice boxlocated withinthe base ofthe
watertank (seeFigure 4).

Please Note:
1. Donotplace the ice boxintothewater tank when thewatertankisfull.Doing so
can cause water tooverflowof theunit.
2. Freeze the icebox each timebeforeplacing it inthewater tank.
3. The ice boxispermanentlysealed.Donotopen theice box or try toputthe cooling
geldirectlyintothe watertank.Thiscancause damage tothe water pump.
4. The gel withinthe ice boxisnon-toxic.

POWERButton:
1. Connecttheplug intothe power outlet.Abeeping sound will beheard oncetheplug is
plugged in.
2.
Press the
POWER
button. The
FAN
indicatorand
HIGH
speed indicator will turn on and beep.
The unit will operate on the strongest air setting in normalmode.
3. Press the POWER button againtoshutoff theunit.
MODEButton:
1. Press the
MODE
button. At this time, the
NATURE
indicatorwill turnon. Press the
POWER
button 2timesto set the unitto
SLEEP
mode. Toreturnto normal”mode, press the
POWER
button 3 times.
For HIGHSpeed + SLEEPMode:
1. Onthe HIGH speed mode,press the SLEEP mode button.
2. Press the SLEEP buttonwhenthe SPEED mode istoset SLEEP modewith HIGH wind
speed.Atthistime,boththe HIGH and SLEEP indicators will turnon.Thewindspeed will
then automaticallychange as follows:
•First 0.5Hour: The unitwill alternateon HIGH and MED wind speedevery 10 seconds.
•Second 0.5Hour:The unit will switch tothe MED windspeed setting.
•After 1Hour Until Shut-Off:The unitwill switch tothe LOW wind speed setting.

For MEDSpeed + SLEEPMode:
1. Press the SLEEP buttonwhen the SPEED mode issetto MED.Thiswill program the
unit toworkin SLEEP mode with MED windspeed. Atthistime,boththe MED and SLEEP
indicators will turn on.The wind speed will automaticallychange as follows:
•First0.5Hour:The unit will alternateon MED and LOW wind speeds every 10
seconds.
•After 0.5HourUntil Shut-Off:The unit will operateon LOW wind speed.
LOWSpeed + SLEEPMode:
1. Press the SLEEP button when the SPEED mode issetto LOW.Thiswill program the
unittoworkin SLEEP mode with LOW wind speed.Atthistime,boththe LOW and
SLEEPindicators will turnon.The unitwill operateon LOW wind speed every 10
seconds and stop 5secondswhilealternating every 15 seconds until the powerturnsoff.
Please Note: Toavoidovercooling,do notadjustthedirection ofthe air directlyonto
peopleor objects.
HIGHSpeed+ NATUREMode:
1. Press the NATURE button whenthe SPEED mode issetto HIGH.Thiswill program the
unittowork in NATURE mode with HIGH wind speed.Atthistime,boththe HIGH and
NATURE indicators will turnon.The wind speed will automaticallychange according to
thisschedule:
HIGH speed 5sec. àLOW speed 5sec. àMED speed 5sec. àstop 5sec. àMED
speed 10 sec. àHIGH speed 10 sec. àMED speed 5sec. àLOW speed 5sec. à
stop 5sec. àMED speed 5sec. àHIGH speed 5sec. àLOW speed 5sec. àstop
5sec.
The unitwill operateinthiscycleuntil the poweristurnedoff.
MEDSpeed + NATUREMode:

SPEEDButton
1. When the POWER button ispressed,the HIGH
speed indicator
will turn on and the unitwill
operateon thestrongestwind setting.
2. Press the SPEED buttononce again.Atthistime,the MED
speedindicator
will turn on
and the unit will operateon the medium wind setting.
3. Press the SPEED button once more.The LOW
speedindicator
will turnonand the unit
will operateonthe lowestwind setting.
SWING Button
1. Press the SWING button.Atthistime,theindicators will turn onand the louvers will
swing (covers 60 degrees horizontally).
2. Press the SWING buttonagaintostop the unitatisdesired position.Theindicator will
turn offatthistime.
TIMERButton
1. Press the TIMER button tosetthe timer.Every press will add another30 minutes ofoperating
time withamaximumofup to7.5hours.The programmed timewill be indicated on the
display.
2. Tostopthetimer,pressthe TIMER button16 times (onemorepressafterreaching 7.5hours).
The TIMER indicator will turnoff.
COOLButton
1. Press the COOL button.If the tankisfilled toasufficientlevel,the COOL indicator will
turn onand thepump will begintowork.
2. After about3minutes,the unitwill provide cool, humidified air.
3. Press the COOL button againtoshutoffthepump.The COOL indicator will turnoff,and
the unitwill produce fresh,dry air.
Please Note:
1. Ifthe COOL buttonispressed whenthere isinsufficientwaterinthetank,analarm will
sound after 90seconds.The COOL indicator will continue toflash for 10 seconds.
After 10seconds, thealarm will stop and the COOL indicator will also turn off.
2. The unitcan also be used withoutwater.Inthiscase,it will operateas anormalelectric

fan.Ifthisisdesired, makesure the COOL button isin OFF mode.
IONButton
Press the ION button.The ION indicator will turnon and theionizer will starttowork.Astream
of ions will be produced withthe coolair.
AirDirection Lever
Adjustthe direction ofthe inside wind bar by turning thelever.You will also be abletoadjustthe
airtoflowverticallyinan up-down”direction.

Cleaning andMaintenance
lIMPORTANT: Disconnectthe plug fromthe poweroutletbeforecleaning ormaintaining this
appliance.
lClean the outside housing withamoist,damp cloth.
lFrom time totime,depending on the natureofyour water supply,youmay need toclean the
inside of the water tankby following these steps:
1. Fillthe water tank with1cup(8 oz.)of undiluted whitevinegar;
2. Let thesolution sit for20 minutes.
3. Withthe vinegar inthe watertank,clean allor interior surfaces withasoft clothoruse a
brush toremovebuild-up.
4. Rinse the water tank thoroughlywithclean watertoremoveany residualbuild-upor
solution.
Cleaning the Filter (refer tothe figure below,then followthesteps)
Tokeep your evaporativefan working efficiently, clean thefilter systemonce every twoweeks.

1. Removethe back cover and dustfilter fromtheunit.
2. Removethe cooling pad from theunit;
3. Rinse the filternet andcooling pad withwater,and then dry themindirect sunlight.
4. Replace the filter andcoolingpad.
