Generalinstructions
Importantnotice
AllmaintenanceandrepairoperationsdescribedinthismanualshouldbecarriedoutexclusivelybytheNEWHOL-
LANDauthorisedworkshops.Allinstructionsdetailedshouldbecarefullyobservedandspecialequipmentindicated
shouldbeusedifnecessary.
Everyonewhocarriesoutserviceoperationsdescribedwithoutcarefullyobservingtheseprescriptionswillbedirectly
responsibleofderivingdamages.
Shimming
Ateachadjustment,selectadjustingshims,measurethemindividuallyusingamicrometerandthensumuprecorded
values.Donotrelyonmeasuringthewholeshimmingset,whichmaybeincorrect,oronratedvalueindicatedfor
eachshim.
Rotatingshaftseals
Tocorrectlyinstallrotatingshaftseals,observethefollowinginstructions:
•Letthesealsoakintothesameoilasitwillsealforatleasthalfanhourbeforemounting.
•Thoroughlycleantheshaftandensurethattheshaftworkingsurfaceisnotdamaged.
•Placethesealingliptowardstheuid.Incaseofahydrodynamiclip,considertheshaftrotationdirectionandorient
groovesinorderthattheydeviatetheuidtowardstheinnersideoftheseal.
•Coatthesealinglipwithathinlayeroflubricant(oilratherthangrease)andllwithgreasethegapbetweenthe
sealinglipandthedustlipofdoublelipseals.
•Insertthesealintoitsseatandpressitdownusingaatpunch.Donotapthesealwithahammeroradrift.
•T akecaretoinsertthesealperpendicularlytoitsseatwhileyouarepressingit.Oncethesealissettled,ensure
thatitcontactsthethrustelementifrequired.
•T opreventdamagingthesealinglipagainsttheshaft,placeasuitableprotectionduringinstallation.
O-rings
LubricatetheO-ringsbeforeinsertingthemintotheirseats.ThiswillpreventtheO-ringsfromrollingoverandtwine
duringmountingwhichwilljeopardisesealing.
Sealers
Applyoneofthefollowingsealers:RTVSILMATE,RHODORSILCAF1,orLOCTITE®PIASTICGASKEToverthemating
surfacesmarkedwithanX.
Beforeapplyingthesealer,preparethesurfaceasfollows:
•Removepossiblescalesusingametalbrush.
•Thoroughlydegreasethesurfacesusingoneofthefollowingcleaningagent:trichlorethylene,petrolorawaterand
sodasolution.
Bearings
Itisadvisabletoheatthebearingsto80–90°C(176–194°F)beforemountingthemontheirshaftsandcoolthem
downbeforeinsertingthemintotheirseatswithexternaltapping.
Rollpins
Whenttingstraightrollpins,ensurethatthepinnotchisorientedinthedirectionoftheefforttostressthepin.Coil
rollpinscanbeinstalledinanyposition.

Onlygenuinepartsguaranteesamequality,life,safetyasoriginalcomponentsastheyarethesameasmountedin
production.
OnlytheNEWHOLLANDgenuinesparepartscanofferthisguarantee.
Allsparepartsordersshouldbecompletewiththefollowingdata:
•Tractormodel(commercialname)andframenumber.
•Enginetypeandnumber.
•Partnumberoftheorderedpart,whichcanbefoundonthe“Microches”orthe“Sparepartscatalogue”,whichis
thebasefororderprocessing.

EquipmentwhichNEWHOLLANDproposesandshowsinthismanualareasfollows:
•StudiedanddesignedexpresslyforuseonNEWHOLLANDtractors.
•Necessarytomakeareliablerepair.
•Accuratelybuiltandstrictlytestedtoofferefcientandlong-lastingworkingmeans.
Wealsoremindtherepairpersonnelthathavingtheseequipmentmeans:
•Workinoptimaltechnicalconditions.
•Obtainbestresults.
•Savetimeandeffort.
•Workmoresafely.
Notices
Wearlimitsindicatedforsomedetailsshouldbeintendedasadvised,butnotbindingvalues.Thewords“front”,“rear”,
“righthand”,and“lefthand”referredtothedifferentpartsshouldbeintendedasseenfromtheoperator’sseatoriented
tothenormalsenseofmovementofthetractor.
Howtomovethetractorwiththebatteryremoved
Cablesfromtheexternalpowersupplyshouldbeconnectedexclusivelytotherespectiveterminalsofthetractor
positiveandnegativecablesusingpliersingoodconditionwhichallowproperandsteadycontact.
Disconnectallservices(lights,wind-shieldwipers,etc.)beforestartingthetractor
Ifitisnecessarytocheckthetractorelectricalsystem,checkitonlywiththepowersupplyconnected.Atcheckend,
disconnectallservicesandswitchthepowersupplyOffbeforedisconnectingthecables.
