excessiveyou mayneedtopurgeairfromthegaslineor
reset theregulatorexcess gasflowdevice. Thispurging
procedureshouldbedoneeverytimeanewLPgastank
isconnectedtoyourgrill.
CAUTION: Spidersandsmallinsectsoccasionally
spinwebsormakenestinthegrill
burnertubesduringtransitand
warehousing.Thesewebscan lead
togasflowobstruction,whichcould
resultinafireinandaroundburner
tubes.Thistypeoffireisknownas
“FLASH-BACK”andcancauseseriousdamageto
yourgrillandcreatean unsafeoperatingcondition for
theuser.
Althoughanobstructedburnertubeisnot theonly
causeof “FLASH-BACK”,itisthemostcommon
cause.
Toreducethechanceof “FLASH-BACK”, you must
clean theburnertubesbeforeassemblingyourgrill,
and atleastonceamonthinlatesummerorearlyfall
whenspidersaremostactive.Alsoperformthis
burnertubecleaningprocedureifyourgrillhasnot
beenusedforan extendedperiod oftime.Aclogged
tubecanlead toafirebeneaththegrill.
Visuallycheck theburnerflamespriortoeachuse.
Theflamesshouldlooklikethispicture.Iftheydo not,
refertotheburnermaintenancypartofthismanual.

LP-GasSupplySystem
§Iftheinformation isnotfollowedexactly,afireresultingindeathor
seriousinjurycouldoccur.
§A20lbtankofapproximately12inchesindiameterby18-1/4inches
highisthemaximumsizeLPgastanktouse.
§Thissafetyfeaturepreventsthetankfrombeingoverfilled,which
can causemalfunctionof theLPgastank,regulatorand/orgrill.
§TheLPgassupplycylindertobeusedmustbeconstructedand
markedinaccordancewiththespecificationsforLP Gascylinderof
theU.S. Departmentof Transportation(DOT)ortheNational
StandardofCanada,CAN/CSA B339, Cylinders, Spheresand
TubesforTransportationof DangerousGoodsandCommission .
§TheLPgastankmusthaveashutoff valveterminating inanLP
valveoutletthat iscompatiblewithaType1. LPgassupplycylinder
must haveashutoff valveterminatinginavalveoutlet specifiedfor
connection typeQCC1inthestandardforcompressedgascylinder
valveoutlet andinlet connectionANSI/CGA-V-1asapplicable. LP
gassupplycylindermust befittedwithanOverfillProtectionDevice
(O.P.D)TheLPgastankmustalsohaveasafetyrelief devicethat
hasadirectconnectionwiththevaporspaceofthetank.
§Thetanksupplysystemmust bearrangedforvaporwithdrawal.
§TheLPgastankusedmust haveacollartoprotectthetankvalve
§Placedustcaponcylindervalveoutlet wheneverthecylinderisnot
inuse.Onlyinstallthetypeofdustcaponthecylindervalveoutlet
that isprovidedwitthecylindervalve. Othertypesofcaporplugs
mayresultinleakageofpropane
§Never connectanunregulatedLPgastanktoyourgasgrill.
§Thisoutdoorcookinggasapplianceisequippedwithahigh capacity
hose/regulatorassemblyforconnection toastandard20lb.Liquid
propanecylinder.
§HaveyourLPgastankfilledbyareputablepropanegas
dealerand visuallyinspectedand re-qualifiedateachfilling.
§Donot storeaspareLPgascylinderunderornearthis
appliance.
§Neverfill thecylinderbeyond 80percentfull.
§AlwayskeepLPgastanksinan uprightposition.
§Donot storeorusegasolineorotherflammablevaporsandliquids
inthevicinityofthisoranyotherappliance.

PROPERPLACEMENTAND CLEARANCEOF
GRILL
•Neveruseyourgasgrill inagarage,porch,shed,
breezewayoranyotherenclosed area.Yourgasgrill is
tobeusedoutdoorsonly.
•DoNot install thisunit intocombustibleenclosures.
•Minimumclearancefromsidesand backofunitto
combustibleconstruction,24inches(61cm)fromsides
and 24inches(61cm)fromback.
•DO NOT usethisapplianceunderoverhead
combustiblesurfaces. Thisoutdoorscookinggas
applianceisnotintend tobeinstalledinoron
recreationalvehiclesand/orboats.
•DoNotobstructtheflowofventilationairaroundthe
gasgrillhousing.Onlyusetheregulatorandthehose
assemblysuppliedwithyourgasgrill.Replacement
regulatorsandhoseassembliesmustbethosespecified
inthismanual.
•Theregulatorandhoseassemblymustbeinspected
beforeeachuseofthegrill.Ifthereisexcessive
abrasionorwearorifthehoseiscut, it must be
replacedpriortothegrillbeing put intooperation. The
replacement hoseassemblyshallbethatspecifiedby
themanufacturer.
•Pressureregulatorand hoseassemblysuppliedwith
theoutdoorcooking gasappliancemustbeused.Never
substituteothertypesofregulator.Contactcustomer
serviceformanufacturerspecifiedreplacementparts.
•Thisoutdoorcookinggasapplianceisequippedwitha
pressureregulatorcomplywiththestandardfor
PressureRegulatingValvesforLPGasANSI/ UL144.
•Donot usebriquettesofanykindinthegrill.
•Thegrillisdesignedforoptimumperformancewithout
theuseofbriquettes.Donotplacebriquettesonthe
radiantasthiswill blockofftheareaforthegrillburners
tovent.Addingbriquettescandamageignition
componentsand knobs,andvoidthewarranty.
•Keepthebackandsidecartfree and clearfromdebris.
Keepanyelectricalsupplycord,ortherotisseriemotor
cordawayfromtheheatedareasof thegrill.
•Neverusethegrillinextremelywindyconditions.If
locatedinaconsistentlywindyarea(oceanfront,
mountaintop,etc.)awindbreakwill berequired. Always
adheretothespecifiedclearance.
•Neveruseadentedorrustypropanetank.
•Keepanyelectricalsupplycordandthefuelsupply
hoseawayfromanyheatedsurface
•Whilelighting, keepyourfaceandhandsasfaraway

area wherethegrillisbeingused.Donotallowthemto
sit, standorplayinoraroundthegrillatanytime.

firebox.Cleanthegreasetrayoften.
Do notusealuminumfoiltoline thegrillracksorgrill
bottom.Thiscan severelyupsetcombustion airflowor
trap excessiveheatinthe controlarea.
Forproperlightingandperformanceof theburners
keep the burnerportsclean.Itisnecessary toclean
themperiodicallyforoptimumperformance.The
burnerswill onlyoperateinonepositionandmust be
mountedcorrectlyforsafeoperation.
Clean the grillwithcaution.Toavoidsteamburns, do
not useawet sponge orclothtoclean the grillwhileit
ishot.Somecleanersproducetoxicfumesorcan
igniteif applied toahotsurface.
Turnoff grillcontrolsand makecertainthegrilliscool
beforeusinganytype of aerosolcleaneron oraround
the grill.The chemical thatproducesthe spraying
actioncould,inthepresenceof heat, igniteorcause
metal partstocorrode.
Do notusethegrilltocookexcessivelyfattymeatsor
otherproductswhichpromoteflare ups.
Do notoperatethe grillunderunprotectedcombustible
constructions. Useonlyinwellventilated areas.Do

Keep the area surroundingthe grill freefrom

A.The screwsusedtoattachthesideshelf are alreadyscrewedintotheleft
panel(seethe figurebelow).Removethe screwsfromthe left panel,align
withtheholesinthe side shelf, and thenre-screwintothe holeson the left
panelof thegrill.
B. The screwsusedtoattachthesideburner are alreadyscrewedintotheright
panel(seethe figurebelow).Removethe screwsfromthe rightpanel, align
withtheholesinthe side burner, and then re-screwintotheholesonthe right
panelof thegrill.

clockwiseasshowninfigurebelow.LPgascylindermust befittedwithalisted
overfill preventiondevice(OPD). Openthe door and pull out thetray, placethe
gastankcylinderinthe tanktray, then useretention kit thatshowed asbelow
diagramtosecure the tankcylinder. Makesure tankisleveled withbottompanel
for propervapor withdrawal.

Ensurethatthe blackplasticgrommetson the LP
cylindervalveareinplaceand that the hosedoesnot
comeintocontact withthegreasetrayorthegrillhead.
CONNECTION
Yourstainless steelgrill isequippedwithgassupply
orificesforuseonlywithliquidpropane gas. It isalso
equippedwithahigh capacityhose/regulatorassembly
forconnectiontoastandard20lb.L.P. cylinder(18-1/4”
(46.35cm)high,12-1/4”(31cm)diameter).Toconnect
the L.P. gassupplycylinder,pleasefollowthesteps
below:
1.Makesuretankvalveisfullyinoff position(turn
clockwisetostop)
2.Check tankvalvetoassureithasproperexternal
malethreads(type 1connection perANSIZ21.81)
3.Makesureall burnervalvesareinthe off position.
4.Inspectvalveconnections, port,andregulator
assembly.Lookforanydamageordebris. Remove
anydebris. Inspect hosefordamage.Never
attempttousedamagedorobstructedequipment.
See yourlocal L.P. gasdealerforrepair.

5.When connectingregulatorassemblytothe valve,
hand tighten thequick coupling nutclockwisetoa
completestop. Donotuseawrenchtotighten. Use
ofawrenchmaydamage thequick couplingnutand
resultinahazardouscondition.
6.Open thetankvalvefully(counterclockwise). Apply
the soap solutionwithacleanbrushtoallgas
connections.See below.If growing bubblesappearin
the solutionthe connectionsarenotproperlysealed.
Check eachfitting and tightenorrepairasnecessary.
7.If youhaveagasconnectionleakyoucannotrepair,
turngasOFF at supplytank, disconnect fuelline
fromyourgrilland call1-800-913-8999oryourgas
supplierforrepairassistance.
8.Alsoapplysoapysolutiontothetankseams. See
below. If growingbubblesappear,shuttankOFF
and do notuseormoveit!Contact anLPgas

Althoughallgasconnectionsonthegrillareleaktested
atthe factory priortoshipment,acompletegas
tightness check mustbe performedatthe installation
siteduetopossiblemishandlinginshipment,or
excessivepressureunknowinglybeing applied tothe
unit.Periodicallycheckthewholesystemforleaks
following the procedureslisted below.If thesmellof gas
isdetectedatanytimeyoushouldimmediatelycheck the
entiresystemforleaks.
BEFORETESTING
Makesurethatallpacking material isremoved fromthe
grillincluding tie-downstraps.
DO NOT SMOKEWHILELEAKTESTING.
NEVERPERFORMLEAKTEST WITHANOPEN
FLAME.
Makeasoap solution ofone partliquiddetergent and
one partwater.Youwillneedaspraybottle, brush,or
rag toapplythesolution tothefittings.Forthe initialleak
test, makesurethe L.P.cylinderis80%full.
TO TEST
1. Makesurethe controlvalvesareinthe “OFF”position,
and turnonthegassupply.
2. CheckallconnectionsfromtheLPgasregulatorand
supplyvalveuptoandincludingthe connectiontothe
manifoldpipe assembly(the pipethatgoestothe
burners). Soapbubbleswillappearwherealeakis
present.
3.If aleakispresent, immediatelyturnoff thegas
supplyandtightenthe leakyfittings.
4.Turnthegasback on andrecheck.
5.Should the gascontinue toleakfromanyofthe
fittings,turnoff the gassupplyandcontact customer
serviceat1-866-984-7455.

GENERAL USEOF THEGRILL AND ROTISSERIE
Eachmainburnerisratedat 14,000Btu/hr.Themain
grillburnersencompass the entirecookingareaand
areside ported tominimizeblockagefromfalling
greaseand debris. Theigniterknobsarelocatedon
the lowercenterportionof the valvepanel.Each
rotary igniterislabeled onthe controlpanel.
USING THEGRILL
Grillingrequireshighheatforsearingandproper
browning. Mostfoodsarecookedatthe “HI”heat
settingfortheentirecookingtime. However, when
grilling largepiecesofmeatorpoultry, it maybe
necessary toturntheheattothelowersettingafter
the initial browning.Thiscooksthe foodthrough
without burningtheoutside.Foodscooked foralong
timeorfoodsbastedwithasugary marinade may
need thelowerheatsetting nearthe endofthe
cookingtime.
NOTE:Thisgrillisdesignedtogrill efficientlywithout
the useoflavarocksorbriquettesof anykind. Heatis
radiatedbytheflametamerspositionedaboveeach
burner.
NOTE:Thehotgrillsearsthefood, sealinginthe
juices. Themorethoroughlythegrillispreheated,the

Tolightthe sideburner, removeanycookingutensils

the smellofgasisdetectedandtheigniterisnot
