M650H Solar Marine Light
Quick Start Guide

The NexSens M650H 4 Nautical Mile Solar Marine Light is designed for mounting to
CB-650, CB-950, and CB-1250 data buoys per U.S. Coast Guard requirements.
IR Remote Programmer
Powering on the beacon
Activate the beacon by entering the passcode sequence
a. The main LED will flash once with each registered keypress.
b. Three quick flashes following a sequence indicate that the command was
accepted.
c. Two slow flashes following a sequence indicate that the command was
refused. Carefully re-enter the command and retry.
Once the passcode is accepted, turn on the beacon by setting a flash code.
The default NexSens-configured flash code is
a. The beacon will flash with the designated pattern for 60 seconds after the
code is accepted. It will resume flashing when low ambient light is
detected.

Checking the battery charge
1. Enter the passcode sequence on the IR programming remote
2. Send the battery SOC (state of charge) command
3. Once the sequence is entered, the beacon will quickly flash 3 times to
acknowledge the command. Observe the flash pattern that follows.
a. 4 flashes indicate a bad battery
b. 5 flashes indicate a low battery
c. 7 flashes indicate a battery that needs charged
d. 10 flashes indicate a good battery
Powering off the beacon
Whenever a beacon will be stored indoors for more than a day at a time it should
be turned off to preserve the battery.
1. Enter the passcode sequence on the IR programming remote
2. Send the command sequence
a. When successful, the main LED will flash quickly 3 times to
acknowledge the command.
