Note: The arm rest height does not include the height from the floor to the table
base where the arm rest connects.
Warnings and cautions
The Optos arm rest MUST be operated within the safety parameters and instructions defined in the Optos Table User Guide.
If you have any questions regarding the correct use of the Optos arm rest, please contact your Optos representative before
attempting to operate the Optos arm rest.
WARNING
Do NOT lean on the arm rest.
Ensure the patient or operator’s arm is NOT trapped or impacted when the arm
rest position is adjusted or when Optos table height is adjusted.
Incorrect positioning of the arm rest MAY result in patient harm.
CAUTION
The Optos Table legs and arm rest fixing points protrude. The patient and
operator must take care when moving around the table.
If you suspect the arm rest is faulty, or if the pad becomes worn or damaged,
please contact your Optos representative.
In order to prevent any contamination always clean and disinfect parts of the
equipment which will be in contact with the patient.
Avoid contact with injured skin or mucous membranes.
Be careful NOT to damage the arm rest when cleaning.
You should be aware of your contractual obligations before disposing of any
equipment.

Attaching the adapter to the table
A 6 mm hex key is required to assemble the arm rest.

1. Insert the screw (2) through the adapter (3) and nord-lock
washer.
2. Insert the nut (5) with the nord-lock washer (4) to the
bottom of the base. Hand tighten the nut (5) on to the
screw (2).
3. Tighten the connection using a hex key and a wrench.
4. Attach the second adapter to the table’s other leg.
5. Cover the adapter with a rubber cup (6) when not in use.
6. Insert the arm rest (1) into the adapter, twisting it to follow
the pattern cut-out. You should feel resistance when it’s
in the right place, then push it into the adapter.

Adjust the resistance
If required, adjust the resistance of the pressure ball in the adapter.
1. Insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the pressure ball.
2. Turn clockwise to increase the resistance or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
Moving the arm rest to the other leg
1. Remove the rubber cup from the table leg that you wish to move the arm rest to. Retain the rubber cup.
2. Pull the arm rest up and twist it to remove it from the table leg.
3. Insert the arm rest into the adapter, twisting it counter-clockwise to follow the pattern cut-out. You should feel resistance
when it’s in the right place, then push it into the adapter onto the other table leg.
4. Fit the retained rubber cup to the adapter on the unused table leg.
Adjusting the height
1. Loosen the height adjustment handle (1).
2. Move the arm rest to the preferred height and tighten the arm rest height adjustment
handle.
Adjusting the angle
1. Loosen the pivot adjustment handle (1).
2. Move the arm rest to preferred inclination and tighten the pivot adjustment
handle.
3. Ensure the handle locks in place, pointing upwards.

Cleaning before each patient
The following cleaning procedures should be carried out before each session. External surfaces must be cleaned of all visible
contamination when they become dirty or soiled with bodily fluids. Follow your internal clinic or hospital decontamination
procedures.
1. Clean the arm rest surfaces with an individually sealed, 70% IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe.
2. Allow the cleaned areas to air-dry before imaging the next patient.
Positioning patients
1. Position the arm rest so the pad (1) is parallel with the edge of the table (2) and does not create a clash hazard.
2. Position the patient’s arm so that it lies along the length of the arm rest pad.
