The NordiFlex®PenMate®is optional. It hides the needle
and automatically inserts the needle for you.

Getting started and storing your NordiFlex®Pen
Always read the full instructions that come with your Norditropin®NordiFlex®Pen
and PenMate®if you are using one.
• Norditropin®NordiFlex® is a pre-lled growth
hormone pen for single patient use, only.
• Start by checking the name, strength and
coloured label of your NordiFlex®pen to
make sure that it contains the growth
hormone strength you need.
• Put the cap back on after every use.
If growth hormone is exposed to direct
light, its eect may be reduced.
Storing your NordiFlex®pen
All Norditropin®products must be refrigerated
(between 2°C and 8°C) prior to use.
While in use, the product may be stored for
a maximum of 21 days below 25°C, alternatively
stored for a maximum of 28 days in a refrigerator
(between 2°C and 8°C).

Preparing your NordiFlex®pen for injection

Pull o the pen cap.
Check that the solution inside the cartridge
is clear and colourless.
Do not use if it is unclear or cloudy.
Hold the pen with the needle pointing up.
Tap the NordiFlex®pen.
Attach the needle.
Remove the paper tab.
Screw the needle on.
Remove both needle caps.
Press the push button.
Prime:
Dial one click.
N.B. You only need to prime the pen the rst time you use it.
A drop of growth hormone appears at the
needle tip. If it does not, then repeat steps
3 to 5 up to six times.
If there is still no drop, change the needle
and repeat step 3 to 5 once more.
Use a new pen if a drop does not appear.

Always use the injection technique your
nurse or doctor has shown you.
Removing your needle
Check that the dose selector
is set at zero.
Dial the number of mg required.
The dose can be changed by
turning the dosage selector either
way. When dialling back, be careful
not to press the push button as
growth hormone will come out.
While taking care not to touch the
needle, replace the outer needle
cap and unscrew the needle.
Always remove and dispose of the
needle after each injection and store
the pen without the needle attached.
Fully insert the needle. Press the push button all the way
in. Count for at least six seconds
while the button is depressed,
then carefully remove.
Once all the doses have been used up, discard the NordiFlex®pen as instructed
by your nurse or doctor and start a new one.
Please note you cannot set a dose larger than the amount of growth hormone
left in the pen.

Preparing your NordiFlex®PenMate®for injection
1Pull o the cap of your NordiFlex PenMate®.5Take a new NovoFine®disposable
needle and remove the protective tab.
2Pull o the cap of your Norditropin NordiFlex®
Pen. Check that the solution inside the cartridge
is clear and colourless. Do not use if it is unclear
or cloudy.
6Screw the needle tightly onto the end
of your Norditropin NordiFlex®.
Remove the outer and inner needle caps.
3Insert Norditropin NordiFlex®into NordiFlex
PenMate®and screw them together until you
feel a ‘click’.
7Priming your NordiFlex®Pen
Dial one click.
Tap the NordiFlex®Pen.
Press the injection button.
4The dosage indicator window must align
with the blue insertion button.
8A drop of growth hormone appears
at the needle tip.
If it does not, then repeat Step 7 up to six times.
If there is still no drop, change the needle and
repeat Step 7 once more.
Use a new pen if a drop does not appear.
N.B. You only need to prime the pen the rst time you use it.

Setting your dose
Set to zero.
Check that the dose selector
is set at zero. Dial the number
of mg required. The dose can
be changed by turning the
dosage selector either way.
When dialling back, be careful
not to press the push button as
growth hormone will come out. Press the injection
button. Count for six
seconds while the button
is depressed, and then
carefully remove.
To automatically insert
the needle, press the
blue insertion button.
Grip both NordiFlex PenMate®
and NordiFlex®Pen and pull in
opposite directions until you
hear a click.
Once all the doses have been used up, discard the NordiFlex®pen as instructed
by your nurse or doctor and start a new one.
Please note you cannot set a dose larger than the amount of growth hormone
left in the pen.
