2
A) - Cleaning the Commode Pan:
1. Put on the disposable gloves.
2. Place the lid on the potty and carry with both
hands to the bathroom or toilet. (It is wise
practice to support the potty with one hand in
case the handle detaches). Lift up the toilet seat
and pour the contents into the toilet.
3. Rinse the potty with some warm water and pour
down the toilet; this helps to clean some of the
residue left in the potty.
4. Wipe the inside of the potty with sanitising wipes
and dispose of these in a separate container.
5. Rinse the potty with warm water and wipe dry
with toilet paper.
6. Spray the potty with the sanitising spray and
return under the commode seat ensuring it is
secure.
7. Remove and dispose of gloves.
B) - Cleaning the Commode
It is recommended that the seat and arms are wiped
with sanitising wipes after each use/day, and the
whole commode is wiped down once a week.
C) - Cleaning the Lap Strap
The lap strap may be machine washed at
temperatures up to 80ºC.
Remove the straps from the commode frame, clip
together, and ideally place in a net wash bag. For
effective decontamination wash at a minimum of
70ºC for 10 minutes.
