The FLEX-Link and FLEX-C adapters enable extended Ethernet and PoE reach
beyond traditional distances using 1, 2 or 4 pair UTP infrastructure. The
adapters, when used with the FLEX Switch or FLEX-Base, deliver 10/100 Mbps,
symmetrical full duplex. The FLEX offering is designed specifically to enable
easy deployment over UTP for reaches beyond that of standard Ethernet
eliminating the costs and disruption associated with IDF closet requirements.

NOTE: FLEX-Link max. power 50W over 4 pairs and FLEX-C maximum power 30W over 2 pairs
FLEX-C Installation Details
1. Remove the FLEX-C from its packaging.
2. Remove all legacy equipment from the UTP cable infrastructure.
NOTE: In order to avoid damage to endpoints, it is important that non-IP devices are
not connected when you connect the FLEX-C.
3. Connect the Network Infrastructure cable from the FLEX24 switch or
FLEX-Base to the FLEX-C (FLEX side).
4. Using CAT5 or higher category cable, connect the endpoint to FLEX-C
(Device side).
NOTE: FLEX-C can be used with FLEX24 switch or FLEX-Base

3. Connect FLEX-Base (Switch side) to downlink port on switch.
4. Connect the Network Infrastructure cable from the FLEX-Base (Adapter side) to
FLEX-Link or FLEX-C (FLEX side).
5. Using CAT5 or higher category cable, connect the endpoint to the FLEX-Link
or FLEX-C (Endpoint/Device side).
NOTE: FLEX-Base can be used with FLEX-Link or FLEX-C

Important Safety Instructions
Product Description
These adapters are extremely simple to use, with
no IP or MAC address configuration required.
Status LEDs indicate power and link connectivi-
ty/activity for RJ45 ports.
The FLEX Adapters are backed by NVT
Phybridge's award winning customer support and
5 year warranty.
As an option, both the FLEX-Link and FLEX-Base
can be powered by an external Power adapter
with the following characteristics:
• Class 2,
• Efficiency VI
• Input voltage 100-240VAC, 50-60Hz
• Output voltage 55VDC / 1A or 2A
• Output connector: power barrel plug
(2.1mm ID and 5.5mm OD)
NVT Phybridge Part Numbers for the Power
Supplies are:
• NV-PS55-60W: 55VDC at up to 1000mA
(for FLEX-Link or FLEX-Base)
• NV-PS55-110W: 55VDC at up to 2000mA
(for FLEX-Base)

7) Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
8) Do not install near any heat sources such as

apparatus (including DVRs) that produce heat.
9) Protect the power cord from being walked on
or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from
the apparatus.
10) Only use attachments and accessories
specified by the manufacturer.
11) Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as
a power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid
has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the
apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed
