Introduction
The Oxlife Freedom®is a portable oxygen concentrator used on a prescriptive basis by patients requiring
supplemental oxygen to be treated in a home, office, or vehicle/mobile environment.
The Freedom delivers 87%-95% pure oxygen to the patient through a standard single lumen nasal cannula.
The Freedom detects a patient’s breath and delivers a bolus of oxygen during the inhalation period. The
Freedom can be set to deliver flowrates in Settings 1-5.
The Freedom has standard power options including a 100-240V AC Power Supply, 10-15V DC Power Supply
and a rechargeable lithium ion battery.

Battery Replacement
•Battery operating times will degrade with battery age, number of charge cycles and operating
environment. While it is not uncommon for batteries to last more than two years, it is recommended
that battery capacity be evaluated after two years of device use and replacement considered.
Any battery with a capacity of less than 70% or less than 4,480mAh should be replaced. Battery
capacity readings can be accessed using the device serial number on the O2 Concepts’DNA
portal at: www.o2dnaportal.com.
Air Travel
•The Freedom is an approved portable oxygen concentrator as indicated by the requisite FAA
statement on the rear label. Please note that many air carriers require prior notification (usually at
least 48 hours) for passengers traveling with portable oxygen concentrators. Not all air carriers
provide an electrical outlet on board the aircraft, so the patient should have sufficient batteries (or
confirmed alternative power source) to account for at least 150% of your total travel time,
including, but not limited to: (A) commuting time to and from the airport; (B) transition time in and
out of airports; (C) the duration of your flight; and (D) any unexpected delays. Please be aware
that battery requirements may vary based upon Freedom use at the prescribed flow rates. Use
requirements may also be affected by the aircraft cabin environment.

Initializing DNA Technology®
1. Power the Freedom on and allow it to run for five minutes.
2. From the Main Screen, press the Menu (M) button.
3. Press the Plus (+) button to scroll to the Cell Info icon and press the Menu (M) button to select.
4. To ensure the Cell connection is working properly, check the Cell status indicated by the red box in
the image below. A well-functioning Cell will display “Cell: Connected.” It may take a few minutes
for the Cell to connect.
5. If the Cell status is other than “Cell: Connected,” check the Cell signal strength indicated by the
green box in the image below. A signal strength below 15 has a reduced chance of a proper
connection. You may need to relocate the Freedom within the building to improve signal strength.
6. To ensure that the GPS is working properly, check the geographic coordinates near the bottom of
the screen indicated by the yellow box in the image below. The GPS will display the current
latitude and longitude of the unit. These coordinates can be verified using a web mapping
application such as Google Maps.
7. If the GPS does not display the Freedom’s correct location, confirm the unit has a “line of sight” to
the sky. This may require you to move the unit near a large window or outdoors temporarily. It may
take several minutes for the GPS to capture a position lock.
8. To return to the Main Screen, press the Menu (M) button; press the Plus (+) button to scroll to the
Home Exit icon and press the Menu (M) button to select.
9. If the Freedom has not connected within 15 minutes, power off and remove all power sources
(batteries, AC/DC power supply). After 30 seconds, reconnect the power supply and power the
device on to repeat the process.
Device Monitoring
1. Access O2 Concepts’DNA portal at: www.o2dnaportal.com
2. Enter user name and password.

Maintenance
All maintenance MUST be conducted by a qualified Freedom service technician. DO NOT attempt to
disassemble or perform any maintenance on your Freedom other than routine maintenance described
below. Any such attempt will void the warranty.
Air Inlet Filter Cleaning
Routine weekly cleaning of the air inlet filter and periodic cleaning of the exterior of the Freedom are the
only routine maintenance.
1. Remove the Air Inlet Filters.
2. Wash the filters by running under warm tap water using a mild detergent.
3. Rinse thoroughly under warm, running water.
4. Squeeze out excess water.
5. Allow Air Inlet Filters to dry. It is important to allow the Air Inlet Filters to dry completely before
reinserting. Moisture from a wet or damp Air Inlet Filter may damage your Freedom.

Device Care and Cleaning
Cleaning
Unplug your Freedom before cleaning.
Do not submerge your device or any accessories or allow water to enter the device.
Clean the exterior of your device using a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent and water and
wipe dry. Clean the outside of the device monthly or more frequently as needed.
DO NOT spray or soak the case or control panel.
DO NOT use alcohol, ethylene chloride or petroleum-based cleaner on the case or power supplies.
Disinfection
Between patients, the exterior of the device and battery should be disinfected.
Clean the device as instructed above.
Per manufacturer’s instructions, disinfect exterior and battery using either Briallianize Plastic Cleaner
with SofKloth, Oxycide (Ecolab) or equivalent.
Cannula Specification
The recommended maximum cannula length is seven (7) feet.
Carry Bag
The Freedom carry bag provides protection and allows you to easily take your device with you for your
daily activities. Always use your Freedom in the supplied carry bag.
The Freedom is inserted into the carry bag from the bottom zippered section of the carry bag.
Ensure that exhaust and intake ports are aligned with the open panels and access zipper is closed.
The battery can be accessed via the zipper without removing the Freedom from the carry bag. The carry
bag can be expanded for dual battery operation by utilizing the alternate zipper compartment on the
bottom.
