Sippi™ Quick Guide
Starting Sippi™after
connecting a new patient
For continuous management of Sippi – see reverse.
1. Hang up Sippi on the bed. 2. Start Sippi.
3. Attach a new drainage
bag with cartridge to the
base unit.

4. Connect drainage bag
connector to catheter.
5. To set the first hour – press
and hold the sync button for
at least 3 seconds.

Note that Sippi will not register all
urine if the bladder drains quickly.
This initial volume in the bladder is
normally clinically irrelevant.
Syncing only needs to be done
when starting a new patient.

Remember!
Sippi measures more accurately
when hung straight.
Sippi automatically divides up hourly
urinary output into full hours.
We do not recommend “milking”
the tube.

To start a new measuring day
Press and hold the rubbish bin button
for at least 3 seconds, at any time
during the first hour AFTER beginning
a new measuring day.
Reading hourly diuresis
Read on Sippi’s display.
The new measuring day is counted
from the top of the first hour after reset.
Sippi remembers this time the next
measuring day.
History – current measuring day
Press the history button to scroll
through and get an overview of the
patient’s diuresis so far in the current
measuring day.

Sippi keeps track of hours and measuring days. Normally the only handling necessary is
reading the hourly diuresis and resetting from the previous measuring day.
